The Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armor, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight, while a huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style. In the ever-changing environment, adapt tactics and gear to dominate your enemies, in an enormous sandbox world.

Suit up: Your Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armor, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight.

Adapt: In an ever-changing environment, adapt your tactics to dominate on battlefields ranging from frozen jungle to alien environments.

Customize: A huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style, with options ranging from the experimental to the alien.

Conquer: Life-like enemy AI requires a strategic and flexible playstyle, as new challenges – including a zero-g battlefield– require players to take the offensive and be proactive.

Explore: Choose your own path through the open world of Crysis, destroying obstacles, driving vehicles, and using the environment itself against your enemies.

-Dumb AI -Wacky physics -Maximum crashes -No manual saves -Clipping issues -Texture loading issues -Objects in the world disappear -Graphics are worse than the original -Menu settings don't save restarting the game (motion blur resets)

Let's start it, by saying - if you've not played Crysis, I'd personally go with this version over the original, as it is more accessible, requires less tinkering, and plays slightly better. However, as far as remasters go, this one is very disappointing. Ignoring the change of aesthetics at times, all of the issues with very much a junky AI are still here. The sound is as terrible as it ever was, with many sound glitches still present. And that horrible, directionless voice acting.... god, don't even get me started ("Perfect!" says Nomad happily, when it's supposed to be sarcastic "Perfect...", as implied by the situation and subtitles... ugh). Anyway, graphics are still good, with occasional low-resolution textures, that have been carried from the original. The first Crysis always has been somewhat of a graphics demo, with everything else playing second fiddle and being just "acceptable" enough to pass. Sadly, with a move away from a limiting (in terms of lighting) forward rendering and modern techniques like Crytek's exceptional implementation of SVOGI, advanced ambient occlusion, and rework of materials to properly handle reflective surfaces, AND with raytraced reflections on top of it, one would hope that Crysis, stripped of its original limitations would be able to shine, once again. And while it's true that the number of vertices the engine can push at times is mindblowing, a lot of it is processing power wasted. The new tech works and it works great in interiors and areas with indirect lighting. But in an ironic twist, with all of the changes to aesthetics and the massive amount of geometry added, Saber - for whatever reason - opted out not to add and rework details in places, where that difference would be most noticeable, while simultaneously adding it in places, where performance might be precisely the heaviest, while at the same time, the graphical difference being the smallest. Working in game dev and being limited to DX11, taught me to be very careful with the number of objects used and to always look for a way to limit the number of draw calls, so I find it absurd that one of the first things done by Crytek / Saber duo, was adding a massive amount of foliage and additional objects, while simultaneously keeping it rendered in DX11 with interop with Vulkan only for rendering pass. This resulted in the game, in which performance is very much dependent on a single thread (again!) and where the rest of the threads barely does any work (again!). Worse yet, the raytracing is heavily limited, as it pretty much never reflects any characters or even physics objects (aside from the Nomad itself and that is only if you push Model detail to High... which is the same freakin' setting that affects the number of draw calls and will hit you the heaviest, even if you disable raytracing!). So, again - do I recommend Remastered? Only if you haven't yet played original Crysis. Cause despite my rant above, I think it is still an improved version of the original. Problem is, with how high original Crysis has set up the bar in terms of graphics, and how low it was in terms of pretty much everything else, it's disappointing to see remaster only lightly push it in terms of graphics and pretty much leave everything that was laying on the ground floor in 2007 as it was. This game needed a serious upgrade in terms of character models, character animations, sound, AI, and gameplay mechanics - and they've pretty much stayed as they ever were - on a "just good enough" level... for 2007.

Remade a PC game on the console then ported the Console game to PC. Guess how that went.

here i was thinking all the negative reviews were because people were complaining about the game being dated, it's actually just all the new stuff they added that ruins it. how is there more bugs in this version of crysis than the OG? how are the controls MORE clunky than the original? why does the game look worse than the original half the time? what on earth happened here? i wish i could unmake this remaster. one last thing i've noticed is that the AI has been tampered with as well and often times is arguably worse for the gameplay such as how they now have a longer & wider detection radius as well as more quickly detecting the nanosuit cloak mode and detecting the player more quickly overall. but the original game wasn't really designed with those adjustments in mind and it makes it so you're walking through thick jungle vegetation then get detected by someone in the next village over out of the corner of his eye.

as a south east Asian people I say that the graphic in this remastered version is more accurate than the original. Under the sun in SE Asia, things look brighter and you can even feel the heat only by looking at things under the sun. The original looks like it's under 25 °C and low humidity which is not true. The graphic is even better when you are underwater / diving. I recommend this version. Especially for those who wants to experience the real weather / climate in Philippine.

This is a regression. Worse graphics, worse gameplay, no multiplayer, ported from the consoles port. And to make it even worse, they unlisted Crysis (2007) for this Clouds look cheaper, there's no chromatic aberration, when the first alien attacks you damaging the parachute it just spawns next to you, instead of seeing it come from far away, UI colors and translucency are cheaper, water foam looks cheaper, stars are still low resolution Running drains the suit's energy, and it even feels slower than before. Armor drains energy. It always defaults to Strength mode when coming out of Cloak mode even if you were using Armor mode, making you vulnerable in the middle of a fight and costing you a restart. Also they decided to remove save games, so you are at the mercy of their checkpoints now. The suit instead of feeling cool and powerful is now an energy management task that barely helps you Enemies immediately and sometimes magically know where you are, this reduces greatly the stealth component of the original game. Before they needed to see you, but now not anymore Last couple of levels crash on the original game, here they just stop responding and the game won't close No multiplayer at all. No online, no LAN mode, no splitscreen. They could have even tried adding Coop to a remaster of a triple A game that is one of the best selling PC games, but no, they removed it all It's supposed to be better, not worse
