  This is one of the best fighters to get started with in DCS World. The pit isn't clickable, which makes it much easier to learn, but it does have the reworked "Professional Flight Model", meaning that the sensors and operation are simplified, but the flight modelling of the plane is on the level of the full modules. It's also one of the only FC3 level planes with good tutorial missions. If you follow those you should be able to fly it well in about a week. IMO, it's also a better choice than the F-15C to start out with, as the F-15C has a more cluttered and harder interface, which might distract you during combat. If you'd like to do air-to-air refuelling and carrier ops, think about getting the Su-33 instead, which is a bit more sluggish but also carries more weapons and is carrier-capable. Overall, I'd recommend getting the Flaming Cliffs 3 module entirely, but if I had to pick a single plane out of it, I'd pick this one.

  Beautiful aircraft, can do magic tricks in Airshows but shame we have no full fidelity module in DCS.

  Nice plane. Pros: -Easy to fly -Fast and competitive in Air to Air engagements -Cheap entry point Cons: -Not a 1:1 Model -Little less detailed YES its not a fully modeled F-16 where you can press every button.. YES its less detailed.. But, unlike the F-16 or others its not 80 bucks. No hate, but this series (FC3) is amazing for starters. You get lessons, An easy (less realistically 1:1 modeled) to fly. As well as a cheap entry point, from where, you can always, later on, go on to the F-16 or F-14, etc. Good plane, easy to fly so good for starters. PS: Yes buying the FC3 package saves you money, but not everyone has or wants to spend 50 bucks on a new game they just got or are getting in to.

  It's pretty good in all aspects. Only F16 can outrate the flanker and most f16 pilots in DCS are too scared to try. Also forget about "bad BVR". If you are good enough you can employ some tactics against AMRAAMs and kill Tomcats and Eagles with R27ETs. Just forget about practising vs AI in this game, they are legit unbeatable in BVR, because they know where you are at ALL TIMES.
