  Dear fellas, You must run the game via Steam client to activate the DLC. The DLC works like a charm. The bosses looked hilarious. In conclusion, it's worth your money. Enjoy it!

  A good DLC for Chicken Invaders 2 - a purely cosmetic one, but at the same time it works as a separate game in its own way. Many things are different than the base CI2 game. This DLC substitutes the food pickups with the Christmas herb leaves (ewe akintola), the chickens have celebration hats and changes, the special level bonuses here hide in christmas sleds, there are good-looking changes and random different-looking enemies, too. This DLC is nothing too special, but is fun to have for some diversity. It reminded me the 30 FPS cap here in CI2 is locked no matter what you download and you do, but game isn't too demanding on reflex and hardware. One 'lil' detail! The contrast here is an actual thing, working not in your favor, so the DLC works as an extra difficulty at the same time. I mean, the disastrous drops from chickens and bonuses are often red, green and yellow, just like the weapon projectiles, so a momentary confusion can easily leave you a ship down, particularly when leaving a particle in your peripherial vision. The color similarity/equality can put some more pressure on your eyes and concentration and act a bit tiring on the brain, that's one of my reasons I a prefer the base game over the DLC. Not a too big thing, but not to be underestimated either. The way to launch a game edition is by right-clicking on the game in the Steam library's list of games, then selecting the desired DLC, which works the same way for the 3rd, 4th and 5th games of the series with their respective DLCs. You have the option to set it to always launch the base game or the DLC, which can be later changed in the Launch options (right-click -> Properties). On the other side, as much as I know, the Chicken Invaders Editions don't share progress and settings between each other and save, cfg & log files show incompatibility even if you change file names and there is no conversion opportunity. While in this game I am not sure if anything crucial is affected at all (just resets high scores and settings here), in the 3rd, 4th and 5th games of the series you'd likely see that everywhere your progress with unlockables and keys is not saved as well. That might make me search for uploaded savegames to use at least temporarily in the 4th and 5th game of the series as the key grinding there is a pretty long thing. In the terms of this the DLCs of the games technically work as "new" games, although they are simply cosmetical stuff. It feels a tad weird, but I wouldn't blame the devs - they've created such nice games.
