The writing in this DLC contradicts everything that made the base game good. And the gameplay is not much better. Do not buy this DLC. It's basically a Star Wars 7-9 kind of situation. Writing The character is unlikable and learns literally nothing. She starts out as an elitist pig justifying all her actions as 'because she knows better' and then ends the game the same way. She even has the audacity to expect to be treated like a hero. She has a ghost mom that doesn't match the art style in the slightest, that contributes nothing but bad meaningless contradictory drivel. They're ripping off of Ollie, who had an actual reason to be obsessed with his ghost. Arguably the worst part of her character is how she immediately overcomes her core beliefs and drug addiction after seeing some trash and dead bodies. This woman is a drug addict. She also has invested her entire life into this lie. All of her friends and family are part of this lie. She is NOT going to change that fast. People don't abandon their entire world view and everyone they know because they see a few bodies. Real people just come up with excuses to justify their bad decisions until the are forced to reconcile them. The entire premise of this DLC is a foundation of bad writing and plotholes. However, what's the most insulting to the base game, is that this awful character contributed n o t h i n g to the main plot. Wellington Wells was well on its way to collapsing before Victoria even considered doing anything. At the end of Act 1, we found out Joy was running out, food was gone, the moteline mine was destroyed, and the plague began infecting the Parade District. This DLC tries to give her credit/blame for the collapse, when it was actually inevitable and or caused by Arthur. You can skip this DLC and miss nothing. The writing is a joke. Gameplay The gameplay is more boring than the main game. Just mash attack and occasionally push. Thrilling. In the base game you actually have to counter and manage stamina. It was much more engaging than this. The progression system is lacking with very little to upgrade and of that, only a few are actually useful. The balance is off at the beginning of the game. You have no healing items and are basically forced to die several times, then later they throw way too many healing items at you. The DLC also refuses to tell you where to go. They took the map away and they took objective markers away. Some parts of the game had me wandering for minutes at a time before advancing a little then wandering more. After playing these DLCs, I hope they just end the series. I don't think they have the capability to do any future entries justice.

Only falling down that I've seen in this DLC was hook not registering properly on one or two spots at end of this story. I've played it on Hard difficulty with no upgrades to anything at all (there's achievement for playing with no ups) and only thing that was "hard" was me spamming M1 button like it's a clicker game. With how stamina is in this one, you can easily kill two npc with just constantly pressing same mouse button and then wait a little bit to regain it fully to annihilate whoever is left. In fact, you often don't even need to move at all while killing everyone, because you can climb on a wall or crates or something else, while all npcs are melee and they'll never reach you. Story isn't great either.
At one point Byng pushes her father, he gets knocked on the ground, cinematic ends > nobody on the floor next to you. He just disappears. And I would maybe assume that he was a hallucination or illusion, except he tells Victoria about his provision stock that would last for years, that she didn't know about. Not saying that he also tells her that he made someone "forget" to close her jail cell, so she can escape.
Victoria's conscience immediately get woken by her being late to take Joy once and suddenly she doesn't need it anymore. If she's supposed to be addicted to it, why only times she ever remembers it are like "oh I should've taken my Joy, then it goes back to bright and lovely". While main game gives you a choice between taking Joy or taking Sunshine instead (it makes it appear to npcs and detectors like you're on Joy when you aren't), there's no such choice, without any hesitation Victoria says "no" to a drug that she was taking for years. And I might just do the same to recommending this DLC.
"We've come to the end of our time"
Playing as the first NPC you encounter in the main game—Vicky Byng, a significant figure within the country—you conclude the tragic history of Wellington Wells with this DLC. Beginning where Ollie left Vicky in the main game, the player participates in a unique experience of witnessing a long-term drug-addled denizen of Wellington Wells getting off the famed drug Joy. This excellently written expansion concludes the game's story and offers the best insight into the governmental and social structures of Wellington Wells, exposing players to some truly horrific thematics and scenes. With a good balance and a unique option of combat and craft mechanics, Victoria is determined to recover and rescue the citizens of Wellington Wells by eliminating Joy production and distribution, resulting in the most gruesome and tense adventure seen in We Happy Few.

This DLC redeems the clunky and drawn out conclusion to the main campaign. For starters players should absolutely finish all three parts in order for the story to come full circle. This DLC not only offers resolution for the story but touches up the best portions of the game and trimming the fat. A DLC for the fans as a farewell. The redeeming factors are: - Playable Character: Victoria Byng - Weapon: Long Ranged Whip - Crafting system is not used by her. (Encourages players to search since every item becomes precious.) - No skill points but items called "Components" which are needed to unlock her skills. Above all, I quite liked her character far more than the others. Because of her position in power, the character development is a great flip from being a militant authority figure. The combat is extremely engaging and fun. Her combat ability immerses you in her competence as one of the most respected and feared individuals in Wellington Wells.

LOCALS HATE HER! Learn how she eliminated Big Pharma using this one weird trick discovered by a mom! If you've ever wanted to be Spider-man and also stick it to The Man for only £2-7, this DLC is for you. Avg. Playtime: ~3 Hours

tbh it gets kinda annoying sometimes because you don't know where you're supposed to go and all the other bugs and such but the game is pretty nice overall. You can tell that the devs do care a lot about the game and they did put a lot of new stuff into this dlc so i'd say it was worth the money. It's also a "nice" ending to the story

SPOILERS OF THE DLC This DLC Really was more of a powerful story than the game play in ways. It shows how people go through hell to just eat something for example the first part when the two I believed to be couple died from eating coal when their mind on joy perhaps thinking it was an apple Game play was new with the mechanic of disabling those annoying TV's and using your whip to go to places you would not be able to reach at Also the ending shows even though you might of saved people from brain washing drugs they won't forgive you as you caused an anarchy out of it but just to save people from starving to death. I would perhaps like to see maybe a video or something showing how the town has changed perhaps a year later plants growing people rebuilding the village but after that ending I don't think you can do much with the village but leave it has damaged itself and the people living inside it.

Excellent ending to the story. Well played out and ties in nicely. Short but in my opinion is the best of the three DLC's. I'd recommend purchasing this game if you did the main story and enjoyed it.
