Nice game, I would like to see more work on the boob dynamics. They are not what you would call physically correct when touched. But overall not a bad little game.
Alternatives: A Tale of Two Tittayz
As Valve loosens the reign on its adult content policy there's an influx of new and in-the-works material adapted for the platform, with SinVR among them. It recently arrived on Steam utilizing a free-to-play approach to showcase the program’s basic functionality with an initial character/location available for potential customers to get a feel for what it offers first. For those satisfied by the experience, there’s a wide variety of paid-DLC available catering to your individual tastes. Each opens up a new theme character/location, and those can be mixed-and-matched among existing purchases/available assets for more variety. They all currently hover around a base retail of $10, though some are available packaged together at a discount. Already in-development for some time now, SinVR also exists separately as a subscription-based program offered by their own site. In contrast to the Steam’s DLC driven model, that version offers timed membership with all the content made available at once (instantly adding new content as released) with subscriptions starting at $20 a month (and usual per-time-unit price breaks). Given the large quantity of DLC already--and clearly more planned all the time---those of you more enticed by the full range of options (and/or fickle about your long-run interest) might find it an interesting alternative instead.
A brief speculatory tangent here on business dimension to skip
Based on the DLC pricing strategy, I’m presuming that they anticipate customers being mostly interested in a few characters and only purchasing those wanted few anyway, so they’re focusing on heftier prices across the board for each. However, I suspect the approach might just end up pricing content out of range for a larger customer segment driven by wide variety appeal (and a compulsion to collect). It’s hard to tell if the many existing DLC are frontloaded because of the recent Steam release, or if that quantity (and listed TBA releases) represent the frequency of releases to expect. If so frequent, it’s hard to see a market segment ever really manifesting committed to collection/hording/whatever since—on top of existing prices—there tends to be a subconscious accounting at the start for what it takes to *keep up* with any collection, before it ever begins. That’s certainly a market they’d be tapping with frequent DLC releases in the few dollars range, but even at $5 a pop it’s vastly more realistic range for potentially wider segments.
Tech Thoughts and Iterations
The development team seems fairly committed to wide accessibility as they've implemented the Vstroker Fleshlight on top of existing Occulus Touch and HTC Vive controls, and even offer a windows version absent VR technology. That said, the non-VR version majorly pales in comparison. Even from the menu, you can tell it’s just not the design focus. You’ll just end up circling until you can’t, with the curser and camera both tied to mouse movement (rather than like a right mouse hold for turning). In the scenarios, the camera does pivet based on holding left-mouse, but it’s also the interact button, so you’ll have to aim around characters for certain angles--and even then, the models will always block some areas. The VR implementation flows much more naturally as you’re inherently that center point with camera motions extending from your range of movement. The desktop controls leave fixed to one point-of-reference, to either circle or zoom around. There doesn't seem to be any way of raising/lowering the camera, or breaking free to lock on different fixed point. Likewise, there’s a real experience drop in the controls across platforms, but there just isn’t a way to adapt that natural translation of the VR controls mimicking hand movement to a mouse going back and forth. Don’t get me wrong, it’s absolutely a positive that they offer the non-VR version for those without VR capabilities and better available than not. The resulting experience though comes across much weaker than VR implementation to an extent that it doesn't really give you a feel for the VR program unless you try that separately.
Other Factors of Interest
There are certainly quality of life changes every iteration would benefit from. It’s cumbersome switching back from any scene to the character menu without any option for quick-loading to a different location at least. Ideally, it'd be great having the same for changing character on location. Speaking of, it wouldn't hurt if this hypothetical quick-menu only listed available scenes/characters. As obvious at it is to advertise pay-content at the forefront, there’s certainly a threshold where heavily emphasizing all the stuff you want customers to buy comes acrosss off-putting and tacks (rather than inspiring impulse purchases). It’s not a line that I’d say SinVR crosses, it's one they vault across with gusto. You can get away with the front presence, though usually want to grey out non-options. When character selection literally has players circle around the big litany of purcahses they dont own to find what they do--and then again when selecting location---you're really pushing subtle persuasion. There's another less-obvious flaw that deserves addition: the poses you put characters in are linked to the location, with each offering 8-10 poses for whatever character. There is some logic to the process, as a few location DLC exist more to widen the worlds of interactions for existing characters, like with the spanking DLC set. However, with each scene artifically limited to 8-10 poses, some locations don’t end up including really standard positions (like oral sex) you might expect as a given for all scenarios. There’s really no reason every location shouldn't have at least all standard poses, with the DLC specific ones being in addition to rather than replacing. It's a glaring exclusion that ends up preventing the locations from being a majorily aesthetic option, and limits your choices needlessly.
Ultimate Thoughts
The truth is that SinVR’s experience just really opens up with the inclusion of those alternative DLC choices, with each being a new character/location but also compounding the other content as new character among existing locations, and vice-versa. One of the factors that really sets the DLC apart from serving as simple character meshes/textures is that full treatment as a unique character addition, with them all having professional voice actresses recording their own unique character-driven and contextual dialog. However, I’d still say the DLC run pretty pricey at their full cost for what each can bring to the table and particularly in light of thinking that things only really get interesting when mixing/matching, so the cost of one is more a consideration for the cost of like four. While I think they underestimate the compulsion for variety per individual, there’s no question they at least recognize the power it holds attracting a wide range. Each new offering feels designed around strengthening appeal across new demographics, fetishes, or subgenres. It’s certainly no coincidence that so many of their character updates are parody driven “resemble-but-legally-distinct-from-the-lollipop-guild’ variety, and I’d only expect them to keep widening their sights on future content with their eyes on the weird and wonderful niche stuff out there that represents a major draw to particular parties.
