  Yet another bargain-basement, shite hentai anime game using lots of other developers' assets. This one takes the form of a weak-sister Left 4 Dead clone, where you guide three armed-and-dangerous waifu bots through various prefab environments against hordes of zombies. Succeed, and you can buff up both the waifu's skills and well as your own. Fail, and you get lewd scenes. Succeed, and you get lewd scenes, so it's a win-win. However, Seed of the Dead actually occupies the higher ranks of the bargain-basement, shite hentai anime games, for the devs (dev? these are usually one-man shows) seems to have spent some time in effort in actually attempting to make an enjoyable and playable game. Usually nonsense like this is a CGI scene delivery device, with the gameplay... neglected. However, SotD shows that some care and planning were put into the moment-to-moment shootery. I mean, it is not A level shootery, or B level shootery... but it is solid C level shootery. It's actually fine. Really. Clumsy and amateurish, but fine. Now, the hairy-palmed side of things: it's fine, too. The waifus are generally as thirsty and male-gazed as the player, and although their character models clash terribly with the rest of the "realistic" (?) models used throughout the game, they're fine, and animated in all the floppy ways you'd expect. The H scenes (which you need a free patch for, available separately) are also fine. They're not, say, Honey Select 2 quality, but HS2 doesn't let you shoot zombies, either. The one warning I have is the performance: it's bloody awful. The game is bedroom-programmer enthusiast stuff, and shows it. It's poorly optimized and will chug on machines it has no rights chugging on. Then again, if you're familiar with 3D H games, crap optimization is par for the course. Just be aware it's a problem, and expect hitches and lurches even on god-tier machines. So, to wrap up, Seed of the Dead is a perfectly serviceable, C-level zombie hentai shooter, which puts it heads and shoulders over the rest of the Unity asset flips that stink up Steam.   TLDR: The game is too expensive for what it is, the game's current performance needs work and some content is Patreon only. I decided to try another new game play through to see if I would have a better experience, but I didn't. When you charge $30 for a game the expectations of it will be higher than a game that cost half that. I played the first SOTD and enjoyed it, so I thought I would enjoy this one too. I did enjoy some of it, but it's poor performance gets in the way. That's really a shame, because I like the girls, their personalities (mostly) and the game world. Not so much the MC's personality. The AI for the girls is not very good. They often get separated and jumped by a mutant. You have to keep an eye on them constantly. I'm guessing that is intentional. They often get in your line of fire and ruin shots. Luckily, you can't harm them with your weapons. The character models look better this go around, but there's a lot of clipping. Dialogue isn't that great, but that's sort of expected. There are some typos and text run over outside of the speech box. Text is even cut off the ending of some dialogue, so you don't know what was said. Optimization needs some work. There are glitches, npcs skating around instead of walking at base and sometimes the girls just disappear during a mission and then turn up later. One of the girls disappears when you try to change her outfit and only starting a mission, finishing and returning to base or quitting and starting again fixes it. As for content, I have two major issues and one minor one. The minor one is just a hassle. The R18 patch has to be downloaded from the publisher's website instead of directly through Steam. First issue is some content is Patreon only. That seems really #@$%! to me. Subscribers getting content first or input on what content goes in the game is fine, but locking off content is a lousy business practice. I've seen other games handle this much better. I prefer not to support devs who do this because all it does it reinforce this behavior and you'll get more of it. It's hard to do that after you buy a game and sink lots of hours into it before you find out. It would be nice if Steam would require developers to disclose this. People could make more informed decisions when making purchases. To the best of my knowledge, both the Halloween and Christmas events has some content only available to their Patreon subs. Second issue is the NTR quests. They are optional in the game (with R18 patch installed) and you don't have to engage with them at all (unless you want all the available body modifications for the girls without spending A LOT of time grinding points). There is a disclaimer on the publisher website to get the R18 patch regarding all the "stuff" the patch adds. The death scenes, whether you think they're gross or not, makes sense in the game, but the NTR seems kind of tacked on and out of place. I honestly don't know why they added NTR to a dating sim, but it is what it is. You can turn the death scenes and the NTR off in the settings if you want, but I kinda used the death scenes turned on as an incentive to keep the girls safe because I didn't want to see them get mangled. If you do purchase SOTD: SH, I don't recommend engaging in the NTR quest lines even though there are four body modifications you can get from them (each completed quest unlocks an item for all four girls). You have to spend 1,000,000 points for each item for each girl if you want them otherwise. They show up in the item store randomly, so it can take awhile for all to show. One million points x 4 items x 4 girls = 16 million points to get them all. The next most expensive item in the game is 200,000 points, so these are very expensive. You are heavily penalized for skipping those quests. I was of the mind I could save some money and a lot of time grinding points by just doing those quests. I was thinking how bad could they really be. I only made it part way through 3 girls quest lines and finished Aya's. I really wish I hadn't. Some things really can't be unseen. I can't even go back to a save before those quests were started because the autosave function and I didn't export my save beforehand.

  I honestly loved this game, what with the fun characters (aside from a kind of bland MC, but kinda comes with the territory) and actually fun game play (when it doesn't bug out with being unable to shoot because of bugs). Really high quality, plus, a surprising about of replay ability (think L4D mixed with Dead Rising's point system). and there is also more content with this link https://erogejapan.com/patch/sod_sh/. But then the next part will just be me giving rants and wishes for the devs. I love this game and its characters, but one aspect of the 18 patch just killed my wanting to play this game, the NTR quests. I am someone who does a lot of what the games hands me. And so I suffer through the NTR quests hoping for some somewhat wholesome ending/payoff, but no, it's just NTR pain throughout the entire line, and turning off the scenes does nothing for the fact that it is still happening. I think this was a factor in causing me to getting slightly sick. So here is what I ask of you lot... please create a DLC story line where the MC discovers what our four heroines were doing behind closed doors, and have it be connected with the MC's lost sister (because yes, there is actually a backstory for him). And the next paragraphs will be the rest of my idea for this DLC story. So after the MC realizes what the girls are doing behind closed doors, he runs to the top of a building from a previous chapter (also for the fact that the MC is N/A to be played as, you get to do the cool thing of playing as one of the heroines). But since he still wants to love the girls, he chooses to die still loving them instead of living on hating them. But while falling from the building, as the girls are running down while realizing what they did to him, a mass of tentacles and flesh erupt from a glass window, and as the MC passes out, he hears someone talk to him "don't worry Onii-chan, I'll make sure all those who hurt you pay". When the girls find him, he's just unconscious on a random floor with a broken window.
