  Adult visual novels with great stories, among the slew of horrid nonsense adult games you get on steam, occasionally a few of them stand above the rest, they try to help guys be honest when they say they are only reading it for the articles.. Games like Acting Lessons and being a Dik, great stories, intertwined with sexual images and situations that most of us would never find ourselves in, heck most of us probably never even did an internet search for.. (ok I lie, I've perused all that nasty taboo adult content.. Don't judge me) Story - TABOO warning, the game has lots of taboo content, mainly consisting of family on family, which depending upon what kinks you may or may not have you'll love it.. Much like Man of the House (which edited the family relations to be landlord and tenants, this one actually keeps the family roles.. ) this game pulls no punches with the relationships whether it be Brother and sister, or Husband and sister in law, or potentially more, (the developer says you can get with all the female characters in the game.. so lots of potential there) The actual story sees you as "generic" male character, you've been in a terrible accident and have lost your memory.. After a few minutes, you're given the run down about your family and then hilarity ensues.. Ok, well not really hilarity, but you begin to live the life of a man who can't remember anything.. Sounds like fun..... well maybe!!! Gameplay - nothing fancy here, no reinvention of the wheel.. read through numerous scenes, make some choice which drive the story one way or the other and then reach the end.. Easy does it.. I did a single playthrough making all the choices I thought would open up the most adult content later on,, and the game wound up taking me about 3.7 hours,, not bad for a visual novel.. Well 3.7 might be a bit scary, the developer plans to add (3 chapters I believe) more chapters for free to flush out the story.. Where as games like Being a Dik might have an extra 2 hours or so but future content will still cost you more money.. Controversy - not just talking about the incest, and other perversions but if the developers plan comes to fruition that all female characters will be romancable, that kind of sends up some red flags, as his three daughters look underage. Which if they were excluded from the adult content wouldn't be an issue.. Now the game makes a point to show you all three girls are over the age of 18, with all of them being in college, the artwork in the future might be enough for steam to pull the plug as they have taken a hard line stance against any content which "Looks underage" even if the story itself presents the character to be of consenting age.. it's a slippery slope which I'd be very careful with.... so it's something to keep in mind as the episodic nature of the content could wind up seeing all of it never being released.. Pros Decent story, compelling mystery that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat.. Rather unique looking female characters 3 out of 5 on the fap o meter Easy 100% for achievements Con's Lack of adult content,, (although the developer has said the first free content will address that) potential issue with age of several characters leaves the game open for steam to restrict it's sale No voice work to be had.. although the sounds were decent enough.. Recommendation - The games price is right for the content delivered.. 8.99 for 3 - 4 hours of content in the prologue, with more content promised for the future that price might prove to be a really great deal, especially if each piece of free content comes in at 3 - 4 hours as well.. Although as with any episodic content, a chance always exist that we won't get future content,, the developer has thus far seemed to be fairly engaged with the community and just issued a new update 3 weeks ago about progress on the next chapter.. So if you like adult games, in the visual novel format, then by all means pick it up.. unless you're uncomfortable with family boning, in which case this game likely won't be your cup of tea.. Other wise pick it up,, enjoy the story, an don't be afraid to let people know that you are completely comfortable with playing adult visual novels... Let that freak Flag fly..

  If you want just boobs and sex, this is not for you. If you want some boobs and some sex with a great story..... The developer even says that (although after you have already purchased the game) it does have nudity and some sex scenes. Good artwork and animation. The story I think is definitely leading up to more sex later. Remember this is just the prologue. Still worth the playtime and price. (around 5hrs for me, with some small breaks in between) I found the story to be quite beautiful. Has a lot of feelings and emotions. I was not expecting that and am pleasantly surprised. Don’t just skip through everything, take the time to actually read it. Remember, this is a Visual Novel people haha. It kept my interest and had a good cliffhanger at the end. Looking forward to the next chapter.

  Synopsis

  My New Memories is a railroad visual novel. The choices that you make, do affect the story, however it is not choice heavy. The choices are more about how much you learn about different characters. Game features both homosexual and trans characters. While neither are major story lines in the prologue they are present. The trans character can be turned on or off by your selection in the game.

  Story

  You (pick your own first and last name) are an architect. You were recently in a car accident with your wife. The result of the accident is that you now have amnesia and your wife is in a coma. Your mother and two sisters have come in to take care of your three daughters while you were in the hospital. Now you have to recover your memory, take care of your family, and find out if it really was an accident.

  Gameplay

  This game isn't about the sex scenes and you are warned about it up front. That doesn't mean there aren't any sex scenes, more that they are a part of the game, not the main part. There are three different scenes with your wife. The themes of the game may not fit well with the less open minded. There is incest as part of the story line, though none is shown in the prologue it is very clearly implied it is coming. You can set the names of most of the characters when you meet them for the first time. The exception is your wife whose name is Anna. While all of the characters are over 18 years old your daughters look more to be in the 10 - 16 year range. There is no content, currently, involving relations with your daughters. The story is solid and advances nicely and leaves you on a bit of a cliff hanger. There are many places this game could go and maybe we'll see them, maybe we won't, as this is an early access game. The current price is fine for the current content, if the game is eventually finished it will be a bargain.

  Final Verdict

  I recommend this game. The story is good. Sex isn't the driving force of this game, the story is. Sex is present, but as part of the story, and not the main part.

  At this point, the game has two chapters and hasn't been updated in 5 months. Here's 3 big problems with it: 1) The problem with Patreon funding (which is where this game started) is it gives an incentive for devs to make a big splash with initial content and then drag out the rest of development as long as possible, because they're getting subscriber money every month. The longer it takes, the more money they get. The dev has only said it may be completed some time next year. In other words, it will take 2 years or more from start to finish if he actually completes it, whereas other visual novels that are just as complex get created in a third of that time or less. 2) Steam purchasers are treated as an afterthought to Patreon subscribers. The dev admits he forgets us and doesn't even bother to give monthly status updates. Probably because he's busy working on developing his other game instead of this one. 3) The content is 95% conversations that are: "Oh, you don't remember anything, do you? I can't tell you now. I'll tell you later", 3% other plot that makes no sense and 2% sex scenes. This is not a sexy adult visual novel, this is an amnesia visual novel - the amnesia is you won't remember if there's any point to this novel after you've played through. You have been warned. Your best bet is to wait another year to see if it's ever completed (unlikely) or is simply abandoned (likely). At that point, read the reviews and decide whether to spend money on it.

  This is one of the best visual novels when it comes to story on Steam and well worth the money. The chapters are quite long (took me between 4 and 6 hours per chapter) although it is quite a long wait until the next release. Future chapters are included in the price though, so no need to pay for each chapter like with College Bound or College Kings. There is (currently) very little sex in this game, but quite a bit of teasing and innuendo's. This game is heavy on the incestious relationships though, with currently only 3 or 4 (we don't know the background of all the "extra" love interests yet) women that are interested in the MC and that are not related to either MC and/or his wife. The models are overall quite decent but very young looking. the youngest kid is 18 in the story, but looks much younger. I don't mind it that much since they have at least the breasts to look older (although imo still not old enough), but I know people for which that is a turn off. So far only two of MC's kids show interest in their dad in a romantic way, but the developer mentioned that in the end probably every character will become a love interest, except for his youngs daughter (the one that makes a peace sign in the family portrait). The storytelling is quite good, although the main story is kind of cliche: After a crash MC got amnesia while his wife goes into a coma and by talking to people and other ways of receiving information he needs to get his memory back and try to find out what and who caused the crash. During this story though, there are a lot of minor plot points and twists that are very well written and most of the twists are subtly (and not so subtly) hinted at during the story, so most of them don't come out of nowhere if you can read between the lines. When it comes to quality of storytelling, I think this will rank around the same as Acting Lessons or Chasing Sunsets. It is not (yet) of Leap of Faith quality, but it is very close. At the moment there has only been a prologue and two chapters been released on Steam, with about 6 months between the prologue and chapter 1 and about 9 months between chapter 1 and chapter 2. It's unknown how long it will take until the full game is completed. In my honest opinion this game is well worth the full price of € 7,39, even though the game hasn't been completed yet. If you are looking a for a visual novel where it really is about the story and you're going in knowing that it isn't going to be a wankfest (at least not in the currently released chapters), this game really is a must buy.

  I got this game in January and just finished reading it a second time. I have to say, of all the Adult Visual Novels out there that I've read so far, this is one of my favorite. This game is VERY story heavy and not very many sex scenes. There are about 6 so far. But the story is SO good! It makes you smile and even can bring a tear to your eye (it did to me a few times.) As far as recommendations, I HIGHLY recommend this game, and am very much looking forward to the next update to this beautiful story.

  I can't believe I wasted 4 hours of my life on this game. I keep seeing all these reviews about how good the game is and how great the story is and I was thinking who did they pay to get that. Look I like enjoy a game with a good story but this isn't it. its just rambling dialog that doesn't really drive the story even the sex scenes are boring. The few decisions you make don't seem to make any difference in the game, you spend the entire game learning about yourself. I still can't wrap my head around you having these daughters who are supposed to be 18 - 20 years old and they appear to be about 10 in the game. I mean they are half the size of all the other characters I'm guessing that in later releases there is going to be some kind of sex thing and didn't want to get called out for underage girls. There are so many more games that are better then this. So I guess there was an update and I played some more and my opinion still hasn't changed just a ton of rambling dialog that brings nothing to the table and doesn't really drive the story. Again hardly any sex but they sure like to talk about all the crazy sex the MC had before the accident. My thought was man that would be the VN I would buy, but nope you are forced to have these long conversations that I spent just clicking through. Let me know if you make My Old Memories that at least sounded exciting.

  Pros - Beautiful woman and more will be added - Great characters so far - Story is excellent so far Cons - Honestly nothing really. If I had to pick on anything it's the animations being pretty meh. But that is pretty much how it goes with most of these games. Neutral - Sexy time is nearly absent from this build, but it's just the prologue so tons more will come. - This is a very heavy Incest fetish game. I like it a lot when it comes to these games but others wont. So I put this as neutral. - There are choices in this game but I feel like they really want to to pick certain ones. You can tell right away because one choice gives you an achievement while the other doesn't. - One of you daughters has the option of being transgender. You can have her as just a regular girl, or male to female transgender (achievement for selecting the later). This might trigger or turn off some people so I will put this as neutral. Overall - It's a excellent start with a great story and great characters so far. No complaints there, I think it's going to be an top tier adult VN in the end (it's already up nearly up there). Just wish there was a little more sexy time in the prologue. This game will be heaven for anyone with a incest fetish. I can easily recommend this game. Story wise it's about up there with Acting Lessons. However if you are looking for mostly sexy time then you might want to wait for another update.

  Can't say I'm the furthest into the story yet, but this is definitely a hard-hitting narrative. Like the author says, this game ain't about sex. Yes, there are sex scenes involved periodically, but it's not the focus. Think... I don't know, Game of Thrones, for an example. The crux of the game lies in the plot, and the plot is heavy and satisfying. Much like the creator's previous work, this game is about acceptance and understanding of oneself. And because of that, I highly recommend atleast glancing the title. There's a lot of feel-good shit, but it ain't just strawberries and apples. There are downs and ups, and that's what makes it worth checking out. I will be highly looking forward to the future updates to come.
