  This is a tough one for me. I did really enjoy the game, but with me being particularly dumb in some areas, it only took 2.6 hours to complete. There is a little replay value to get some achievements, but those achievements were missed because I didn't feel like spending the extra time up front to get them. The demo is 1/3rd the entire game. That is nice in that people get to know what they are buying, but it demonstrates how short the game actually is. While I enjoyed it and I want the developers to make money, it is not a recommendation unless it is on sale or you really enjoyed the demo. If any more content gets released, I will update my review to reflect that.

  Easily the best tech demo I have ever played. I'm putting a "yes" in the recommendation box because it's worth buying if it's on sale and you're a big fan of investigative games. The gameplay and the system the devs have put in place for investigation is amazing, up there with or even better than any detective game I've played before, but there is basically no content to this game. The design, voice acting, gameplay, etc. are superb but it is 20 dollars for a demo's amount of content or a proof of concept, not a full retail game. I would eagerly purchase a subsequent game from Kitfox that was literally just this with an additional 10 or so cases to solve, but as it is now I cannot in good conscience say you should pay full price for this.

  I wish I could recommend this game, because I loved playing it. But not only is it too short for the price-tag... It's too short for its own sake too! Just as the player gets familiar with the mechanics and the demons, the game ends! It never gets a chance to really challenge the player's ability to think critically, because it spends its 2-3 hours on what would normally be the introductory missions before the real game starts.

  Disappointed by this title. Normally a big supporter of Kitfox, but this one felt a bit rushed and short to me. The normal level of quality is there, the three cases you solve in the game are fun and interesting, if a bit obvious. Where I feel let down is in the execution of the ending, it felt like only half the game was told as the story is a clear sequel bait ending with no real closure. If this had been seen through to the end and we got the conclusion after the chapel, it would easily be worth the retail price. Unfortunately, this feels more like a playable teaser, and should be bought on a heavy sale if anything. I can't recommend this, sadly.

  I want to start off by saying that this game is really well made. The levels are interesting, the gameplay is fun, and there's a small amount of replayability if you're fishing for 100% achievements (though in all honesty some of them are slightly tedious). I also liked the aesthetics around the whole game, too. The issue I have with it, though, is that it's just too short. Only 3 missions (one of which is almost entirely a tutorial) which is about 2 and a half hours of gameplay, it's just really hard to justify the £15 price. What makes it feel worse is that the ending is VERY open ended, and KIND OF feels like the 3 missions were just the set up for the full game, which just sort of makes it sting more that there is no "full game" coming, and this is all the content there is. However, it also does mean there's plenty of room for DLC missions without it feeling forced. TL;DR: Absolutely fantastic game, but unfortunately can't justify the price for how little content there is.

  I'm totally in love with setting, game mechanics and voices, especially daemons one. But bruh. 2 hours of gameplay. Are you serious? I want more, and there it is, the end with cliffhanger. Hope for more sometimes.

  The game is a genuinely great but I cannot recommend buying it at full price at all. Other reviewers are spot on that it feels like a proof of concept instead of a game. There are only three chapters and the ending is just an info dump of what happens next that should be a whole playable chapter. It feels like an incomplete game that ran out of money and then was rushed out with less than half of the planned content, but the publishers decided to slap the same price tag on it that was planned for the full game. It would have been a much better idea to have this as early access and release the chapters as they went. It's a pity because the mechanics, the world, the gameplay, the characters and the stories are all great and it's a game I would have liked to have spent more time with and see sequels from.

  I would absolutely love to recommend Lucifer Within Us but I cannot, in good conscious, do that. The game is far too short but the concept is really good. It is unfortunately mired by the problem that it never feels like you've gotten out of the tutorial section of a longer game until the very last 'case'/mission where you discover the titular Lucifer within a guy. It needs, in my opinion, the Ace Attorney / LA Noire bits where messing things up drastically and dramatically ruins your case and games you over. As it is you can accuse and contradict as many times as you want which can turn this mystery solving puzzle game into a brute force "I have a hammer and everything is a nail" hallmark of late 80s-90s point and clicks where you rub every object on every other object on every other interactable until progress is made. I didn't end up needing to do that but the option is there. Some will say this is good as it allows you to solve the puzzle. I say this is unhelpful and there should be a fear of failure. This is a murder mystery game, what good is the mystery if you can brute force it? You SHOULD have to think about it. You SHOULD have to be careful about contradictions and accusations. I really enjoyed the 2-3 hours of this game that I played but it felt like an enlarged tutorial rather than a proper game in and of itself and for that reason and the fact there's only about 5 cases total I cannot recommend a purchase but I really wish I could.

  this is a great $5 game, a good $10 game, a bad $20 game. it is wayyyyy to short for its price point. there are 3 cases, about 45-60 mins long. there is about 2-3 hours of gameplay (with no replay ability) for $20. thats insane. $10 an hour is way too much, even $5 is pushing it. everything else about this game is great, if there was just 3-5 more cases the this would be a amazing game. but as is wayyyy to short.

  This is a demo for a game that was never made. It's unpolished and shallow, with typos, awkward wording, cardboard stuttering animations and dull tiny environments. There are 3 missions with 2-3 witness stories to cross-check and about 10 evidence items to discover each. All of them have an obvious culprit and you cannot fail, so a simple brute force approach gets you to the end almost as fast as a deduction. It is an interesting concept for a game, but the developers failed to create something engaging with it, be it for the lack of time or resources. You can watch the trailer and imagine what could've been, but playing this is a waste.
