  I made a female character to role play as. My level 1 party managed to kill an ogre that dropped two unidentified belts. I put one on my main character and it turns out it was a cursed belt and it changed my gender to male. Now I have to find a way to remove this curse. 10/10 Edit: I'm cured!

  One of the greatest games of all time. The Enhanced Edition is still the same great game but with a few new companions and quality of life improvements, such as loot/item, chest/container, and character name highlighting when pressing tab, as well as a zoom function. The new companions are pretty nice. I played a lot with Dorn Il-Khan, the Half-Orc Blackguard, which is an evil and twisted reflection of the lawful good paladin, and I really like him a lot. He is an interesting character with a cool personality, and has an awesome class kit. He really adds a lot to an Evil party. The improvements and companions are not essential by any means, but they are nice. A lot of people complained about bugs when the EE was first released, but I'm happy to say that with the 1.3 patch, this has been eliminated. I played through the whole game and did not encounter any noticeable bugs. If you have never played Baldur's Gate, this is definitely the definitive version of the game, and the one to get. It's a 150+ hour game, so even at the full price of $20 you get your moneys worth for sure. If you have played Baldur's Gate, buy it on sale and enjoy a great excuse to replay a fantastic game.   This. Was. My. Childhood. 9/10. would have been 10/10, if the Steam version included putting in a new disc every 5 minutes.

  Like - able to run around where you want - tried BG2 before this and really dislike the railroad it becomes. Lots of little things to find and do. For about $10, great value. Main quest line ok. Dislike - the reputation system - very shallow - kill a homicidal Flaming Fist in the woods where no-one would know and you get a reputation hit. Get attacked by FF soldiers when you are trying to save the rightful ruler from an evil usurper - Reputation hit - even when he regains power and could clear your name, he doesn't. so be a knight in shining armour for 99%, then end up with lousy rep. If you don't turn off party AI, they're dead before you even notice them half the time.

  I am playing this because i cant afford playing Baldur's Gate 3. So at least future me will understand easter eggs :'(

  A classic, brilliant game. With so many options. It is a must play for every single RPG fan out there. For those coming here from BG3/newer D&D, some advice. Look up the THAC0 system. This game uses it instead of Armor Class. It's a good system but also very confusing when first starting out. Additionally, damage immunity is common. Your wizard is going to need spells to strip it away. It's a *very* hard game. Turning comments on if anyone wants to add more advice there.

  Very challenging. You have to be very careful and strategic with some of the battles. Save often. So much fun. It feels VERY D&D
