Let me start off by saying, I LOVE THIS GAME! If you like Harvest Moon or Stardew, you will love this game. (YOU CAN PAUSE THE GAME, BTW.) You start off as an adventurer coming to a new town. There's a super fun character creation, you can be an elf, demon, naga, and more! You get to customize your tails and wings and horns, super fun. Once you get there, you can farm, mine, adventure, etc. Even though initially its a farming game like Stardew, it also allows you to explore. There are north, east and west forests to go through, leading to multiple places. (I havent seen gotten to the end of them yet so I can't comment on that) but it's a lot of fun. The atmosphere is super cozy, the characters are all cute, and the conversations are GREAT! The dev really put time into being able to chat with the people. They bring up different conversations, ask you about things, and your answer sways their heart level depending on what you say. I could go on and on, but i'll make a pros and cons list: PROS: -YOU CAN PAUSES THE GAME (unlike previously stated) the settings gives you an option to make the time stop while there is text on the screen, so to 'pause' the game, just talk to someone. You can even run into your bed for the text to pop up and leave it there for a 'pause'. I like that being in the menu doesn't pause the game because while I wait for people to come out of their houses I can level up my skills. -Skills! So many skills, but not overwhelming. I love being able to upgrade skills at my own pace and the way it's set up is nice. -Having magic is a super fun touch. You get them through leveling certain skills. -The townsfolk are super fun. -You can pet your cows and chickens as many times as you want and they are adorable. You don't have to buy a million items to milk them/sheer them/ etc. You just pet them and they give you milk and eggs. -A BIG ONE, YOU DONT GIVE PEOPLE ITEMS ON ACCIDENT IF YOU ARE HOLDING THEM! The "give a gift" option pulls up your inventory so you can choose what gift to give. -You can choose how fast you want your day to be, 20 min, 30 min or 40 min. I LOVE THIS. Some days when I have a lot to get done, I choose a longer day. Sometimes when I only have a few minutes to play, I pick a shorter day. You can make the day shorter while you're waiting for something, then toggle it to be longer once you are done waiting. -You cook and eat food to PERMANENTLY level your mana, speed, and health. Your speed at first is slow walking, but you can level up a skill to jump-dash so you can dash around town quickly. Then, just increase your mana (permanently!) by eating. -There are a LOT of things to do, but just like stardew, but i don't feel rushed. I feel like the game has enough to keep me interested and the spawn rates are great. -You can build armor and upgraded tools in your own farm once you have the items necessary, (no waiting 3 days.) -you can buy a lot of the items you need. If you spend all your time farming and have hella money, you can use that money to, for example, buy ore and other items needed instead of mining, if you dont want to mine as much. CONS: (Minor, minimal, nitpicky stuff that does not deter me from the game at all!) -Initially the game was a bit slow because in order to do quests, you had to sit and wait for people to leave their house. However, once they get one or two hearts (not hard to do) you can go into their house and give them the quest items or just chat. Now, It doesn't bother me. -The town layout seemed a bit clunky at first, but now that I'm used to it, it's ok. You can also open up shortcuts, which makes it easier. -I ACCIDENTLY FIRE BOLTED LIAM'S CROPS AND GOT ARRESTED! Don't let the magic hit the crops lmao. Please change that. -I wish there were more scenes once the hearts go up. I'm at 6-8 hearts with a lot of the townsfolk and you get new conversations, but no scenes (like if you walk in their house for the first time, etc.) -I wish the menu gave a list of the items that the townsfolk like and dislike AS YOU GIVE THEM ITEMS so there aren't spoilers, but you can fill out the likes/dislikes as you give gifts. -A few times, the conversation has been weird. The fisherman came to my house to ask me if I had used my fishing pole before I even got the pole, however, it was okay because I didn't know he was there so afterword I went to go grab the fishing pole and meet him. -Whenever I go to Claude's house it gives me options like "what are you doing outside?" even though I'm in his house. One of the comments while i was inside his house talking to him was, "You should come over sometime!" I know it was because of the hearts, but maybe add something like "It's fun to have you at my house!" instead. (This is super nitpicky stuff, im completely fine if this never gets changed) -Honestly while I was playing I had maybe 1 or 2 more cons, but I can't even think of them so they proably arent even that bad. Overall I LOVE THIS GAME. I already feel like it's a fully finished game, I can't wait for the rest of it to be released. I'm obsessed with this game and I have the same feeling as I had when I played Stardew. I have homework to do, but I can't stop playing! lol. Thank you dev for this amazing game. It's quickly becoming one of my faves!

It's obvious this game will be compared to many others of it's similiar genre so as an attempt to summarize it: Stardew Valley has emphasis on being casual and friendly for new players. (All-rounder) Harvest Moon has emphasis on stories with some relationships. Forager has emphasis on exploration in randomly generated world (Plus the artwork) Animal Crossing (At least New Horizons) has emphasis on creativity. Finally, Sun Haven has an emphasis on RPG and Fantasy lore. Keep in mind that all of them, to a certain extent, still has shared similarities such as an economy built around farming/fishing, NPCs to chat with, some cutscenes that commemorate certain relationship levels or a "Start from nothing and progress your way up in the world". So the emphasis mentioned above was the "Defining moments" for those game and not necessarily that one game does not do what another game does well (Ex: Stardew does have RPG elements, Animal Crossing does have random generation, Harvest Moon is pretty casual if you ignore some things etc) So going back to Sun Haven, I'll probably expand on the two points mentioned. On the RPG side, there are stuff like skill trees and perks that you can level as you play the game there are class/race selection that shoehorns you a bit into a certain role, there is multiplayer to allow team play based on what you want as your role, quests that npcs give that you can choose to ignore or take etc. The typical RPG stuff. The thing is, the stuff mentioned previously actually does mesh very well with the game and actually feels very impactful overall! As a specific example, I really like the design of the Skill tree in this game (Of which there are 6 off!). It really makes your progression _feel_ like progress. This means just playing the game will level you up and give you to a huge array of skills to unlock that cater more to how you prefer to play! On the other hand, we have the fantasy part. If the screenshots were not telling enough, you have various type of races that interact with each other in their own quirky way as well as various type of fantasy species like dragons, demons, totoro and what have you. This is also coupled with other stuff like magic/alchemy/folktales also being present in the game. There is also a general Main questline story that does delve more into the lore and gives more personality to the NPCs and fantasy setting. Having that fantasy setting with a storytelling to boot gives it a very fresh take on a pretty typical farming simulator and in my opinion makes for a very interesting setting. Overall, this is an extremely fun and polished game for an early access title. The planned roadmap and upcoming releases is extremely well put together and so far the developers seem serious on delivering. Would definitely love to see more works from the developer!

More intricate than stardew but also allows more freedom- no energy bar and the option to choose how long your day is made this game perfect for me. The story is fun, and im having a great time grinding in this game. There are so many things you can do and the romanceable npc's are very interesting (hot). Over all I can see myself coming back to this game more then I would stardew because with the story- it seems almost never ending with the amount of options. Also for all you furries out there... yes there is a cat girl/guy npc, yes you can marry them, and yes... YOU YOURSELF CAN BE A FURRY. (i am not but like, you do you) The only thing is- i would not recommend this game to people who get easily overwhelmed or have a hard time making decisions, as this game is kind of based on choosing what to do, who to talk to, and how to act with certain people, so if that stresses you out this might not be the game for you.

The first instinct many people will have is compare this to Stardew Valley, because you play as a farmer who moves to a small town where some of the NPCs are romanceable. But that's basically where the similarities end. In Sun Haven, you get to be a fantasy race (if you want), magic, mana, and a skill tree with so many options it would be difficult to play the same way twice. Not only that, but NO STAMINA BAR! Keep farming, mining, and fighting to your hearts' content! -- While we're at it, the game also auto-saves, so you don't have to sleep away the day to save and quit, you can just quit when you're done. Life saver. There's a surprisingly large world to play in, too! You don't get the whole world right away and have to do quests to unlock your second and third farm, which are in fantasy towns with whole new wonderful settings, but I was able to get both of them in my first spring so it's not a huge roadblock in gameplay. There's 15 romance options, some of which are only available after unlocking the other towns. And I'm not sure if its just because the game is in early access or if its intended for the final game, but I for one really appreciate the fact that you can romance multiple characters at once: a lot of them are fun options AND they all have cute new sprites for each season! And even the characters I personally don't like, I can see why someone else would. My biggest complaints about this game are: - There's a very limited selection of hairstyles and they're all anime protag-esc, so good luck if you want a basic hairstyle. There's also pretty much only straight or wavy hair, no curly, afro, braided, or dread-like hairstyles. - The map could use some help. The player dot is itty-bitty and especially in the fantasy towns it can be hard to understand what part of the map is where. Could be fixed by making the player dot either larger, a different color, or possibly customizable. As for the towns, either make it stacked like it is walking around or at least indicate which segment is "below" which. ... That's about it. It's a good game. If you enjoy chill games, you'll LOVE this one.

The games looks cute, cute content and visuals. BUT the multiplayer is a LIE. There's no multiplayer, if you fight a boss with a friend, both will fight separated, layered. That's HORRIBLE experience as multiplayer. Fix that and this game will compete with stardew easily. Literally all my friends quit after the first boss. Its SO wrong selling a multiplayer game that allows you only to see your friend e that's it. Nothing else. NOT A MULTIPLAYER GAME.

I like this game a lot, but I stopped playing to wait for more Steam Deck compatibility. I was really hoping I’d see better controller support with the 1.0 release, but it’s still not there. Gamepad controls are awkward — and often stop working altogether — and the UI on the Steam Deck is too small, even at 2X zoom. I’ll check back in again when they release their Switch version to see if they’ve also made handheld improvements here. Overall, I do recommend and enjoy this game, but if you’re mostly a Steam Deck player, I would suggest waiting a bit.

For me, Sun Haven is a fun farming game that has a mix of RPG style gaming. You could focus more on the RPG part of it, but the predictability and rote repetition of farming is relaxing to me. I love that the developers added a sort of customized time frame for your day. I can't relax if I'm feeling rushed in my farming duties y'all! So it's def one of the things that drew me to the game. I used to play WoW and FFXIV with my husband of 16 years, but about 6 months ago he died; Sun Haven is a nice game to play on my own that fills that gaming void and doesn't constantly remind me of my missing paladin. Thank you to the devs for making this game.

This game is so freaking cute! Pros: - NO STAMINA! YOU DON'T HAVE TO MANAGE STAMINA!! - NPCs have distinguishable personalities. - You can choose how fast you want your day to go. - Large skill trees with interesting options. - I find the fishing minigame to be much easier than it is in similar games. Cons: - While you have a lot of options for race when customizing your character, it took me by surprise the limited range of skin/clothing/hair/etc. colors there are. Why do humans, elves, amari all have the same options for skin color? Very weird to me. - Some things aren't very well explained. Like I got an autofeeder and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. I had to look it up to find out you need to put feeders around it. Feels like info that should be in the item description. - The game doesn't always pause when it feels like it should. Time passes when you are in certain menus, even though you can't see the clock. This can easily lead to you character passing out with you not even knowing it was getting so late.

*Updated for v1.0.3* I really love this game, but that's why i'm leaving a negative review actually, because it deserves to be better. It just isn't finished, which is really disappointing for a game that has been in early access for ages and just released what is meant to be the finished product. And despite it clearly being unfinished, the devs are already planning DLC. While i do love this game, the amount of issues add up to really sour the overall experience, so i decided to put together this list of issues in the hopes that some negative criticism will encourage the devs to tackle the games problems. Multiplayer: Boss fights are separate for each player. Quests are separate for each player. Story and progress are separate for each player. Combat dungeon is separate for each player. Other players are sometimes invisible. The multiplayer is basically just single player with a roommate, it's bad. It feels like it's only there so the devs can advertise it as a multiplayer game despite not caring to actually make the game multiplayer. Bugs: Textures clip through each other a lot. Trees change completely during falling animation during winter. Pets fall in water while platforming, even though the patch notes said this was fixed on two separate occasions. Friends effects (air skip, arrow shots, etc.) show on your screen even if you're in a different place entirely. Screen tearing. LOTS of screen tearing. Can walk through the wall of the large tank in the aquarium. Quest start markers remain on the map after accepting the quest. There is a line of dialogue with Vaan where he gives you greenroot, but he doesn't actually give any. Some quests require a different amount of items than what they ask for. Sprites are often on the wrong layer. For example, Jun hides behind a chair he's presumably meant to be sat on in his date. Sometimes your spells just don't work. Sometimes everything just doesn't work and you're stuck for a moment, or until you restart the game. Sometimes you can clip inside something and get stuck. Many items say to discard them but they cannot be discarded. Sometimes the automatic collector just doesn't work. One of the combat trinkets seems to be bugged and only drops in certain seasons, making it difficult to complete the museum. Skills that restore mana when mining don't work in the Nel'Vari or Withergate mines. You can duplicate fish using aquariums. Dizzy is one of the glitchiest bosses i've ever seen. If you visit somebody at their house first thing in the morning, the game tells you it's too late, as though it's the end of the day and not the start. Anne says the same line twice in a date Sometimes you can't see your save files when trying to load game. Gameplay: Trees spawn in random places frequently, but drop saplings rarely, which is inconvenient and doesn't really make sense. Donating to the museum needs to be streamlined, and item descriptions should change to show if they've been donated or not. Some skills are comically bad, some are LITERALLY useless, and some are phenomenal; it's just strangely unbalanced. Quests are often VERY tedious and uninspired. "get 1000 stone" "get 3000 tickets" "get 1000 essence" "get 1000 stone again" "catch 50 fish" "catch 50 fish again" it just gets pretty boring. These are all actual quests that are pretty important too. House upgrades serve no gameplay benefit. It's just a bigger house. It doesn't add a kitchen or cellar or anything like in stardew, it's JUST bigger. Food is underpowered. Generally it just feels more worth it to eat fruits than make a meal for restoration. Fishing feels very complicated. You can get such a huge variety of fish from each area, so many of which are the same. It's hard to gauge where you need to be to catch each fish since it feels almost like you can catch almost everything from any single place. Even if you see the silhouette of a fish and complete the minigame to catch it, there's still a chance it's junk. Even though you saw the fish under the water. There are SO MANY different crafting tables, it takes up so much room on your farm and it's so hard to keep track of which table crafts which items. There is absolutely no need for there to be 4 or 5 different crafting stations for food. Just put them all in one. You spend so much time walking. There needs to be more fast travel locations. For example, Charon should have a port at the castle. General: Snaccoon plushies are almost all purple despite the snaccoons that drop them being different colours. Lots of the characters are really cool, but they're just side characters without art or much interactability. You could/should have made them fully fleshed out NPCs. Lemme date Beeanca, Tonya, Fidget, Christine, Honey, Wyatt, etc. Edit keybinds option doesn't let you edit all the keybinds, only some of them. Marriage is immensely disappointing. You basically just get a ring, not a spouse. You can't hug them, kiss them, interact with them in any interesting way, and they don't even have much new dialogue. They do move in if you have the fully upgraded house, but this isn't even communicated to you, so me and my friend didn't even realise that could happen and finished our playthrough without the upgraded house. The ending is also immensely disappointing. Nothing happens. It just shows the Quest Complete popup. There isn't any acknowledgement of it whatsoever. It's literally the entire plot of the story and should have changed everything now, but nothing actually changes. The small aquarium you get given to display fish only displays some specific fish. Many just default to the angel fish sprite. Guava berry is part of the summer crops museum bundle despite only growing in fall. Performance is quite bad. There is so much time spent looking at a black screen while the game loads, and many areas tank the framerate. It runs surprisingly poorly. The withergate mine train tickets are literally all the same. Only the cheapest ticket is worth getting. The game says you need 5 hearts to enter someones house, but you actually only need 2 or 3. Every single character in the game says the exact same line when you ask to date them. There's lots of useless items in the game. If they exist to be trashed like dead crops, don't put them in our inventory. If they exist to be sold like Dizzy's drops, express that in the description. As of right now, you're likely to be storing lots of things you'll never need. Mounts have no differences besides how the look and how badly they displace your character sprite. Like, there's no special abilities to them or different movement speeds, there just isn't any reason to use any mount other than whatever is cheapest. Some are so big and displace your sprite so badly that it makes them almost unusable too. The 15 heart events are way too structured. They act surprised to see you, say a few lines, kiss, say i love you, then you leave. There is no room for them to show personality or character. If you've seen one, you've essentially seen them all. You can date everyone at once with nobody ever acknowledging it. Not even if you're married. You can actually even marry several people at once, as the check to see if you're single or not only applies once you're married, and not engaged. If you divorce a spouse they don't even acknowledge it. Switch version of the game won't have multiplayer because the devs priority is on releasing the game as quickly as possible. That is literally what the director of the game said. Their priority isn't on giving their fans what they paid for, or giving us a good product, their focus is on rushing the release. It's amazing they can say that and not see any issue with it lmao

(Singleplayer review) Puh i am not really sure if I should recommend this game. It’s worth it’s price, but it’s not a finished product. It gives of a Stardew Valley vibe and has enough content to keep you invested for around 30 to 60 hours… but most of the content seem like it has been dropped halfway. The farming can be fun, but it’s unbalanced, also managing 3 farms at the same time can be a bit to stressful. The mine is a bit repetitive and there is no real conclusion, it feels unfinished. The fighting can be fun, but a lot of the loots you get from the monsters don’t really have a value, nor can be used in crafting, but some which you get at beginning can be used to craft items, which also contribute to the feeling of unfinishedness. The same goes for the fishing, you can get a enchanted rod, which enables you to catch enchanted fish, which don’t exist at the moment ingame. There are also few and other minor inconveniences and bugs. It’s a great game with a lot of potential, but it still feels like Early Access. Even in this state it is fun to play and can motivate for a long while around 50hours as I wrote before. If you don’t mind playing an unfinished product, I really can recommend this game for you. If not, stay away. It's an unfinished gem, which i hope will be developed further.
