  It's not bad, but it's also pretty shallow. Each character has only three levels, you can't find or equip items, you can't control the order of your characters, you can't choose stats, the character progression over time isn't very deep. This means each run isn't very randomized, and the customization is pretty low. That said, it's a pretty and relaxing game, and it's fun enough. It's just focused on being a mobile-oriented travel game. That's fine if that's what you're looking for -- otherwise, there are better games in the same genre, like Wildermyth -- and even better games by the same studio, like their tower defense games.

  I was iffy about this game as it's not the typical tower defense that Kingdom Rush games have been known to be. In my opinion I was right to be iffy, this game gets so boring so fast. Not only is there very little variation in enemies as well as tactics, but the difficulty doesn't seem to matter. In fact I do better on the harder difficulty which makes no sense. I hit a plateau where the game got insanely harder and I cannot honestly figure out how I'm supposed to progress. From what I can tell they expect you to figure out exactly which combination of fighters you need to progress. But doesn't that defeat the point of CHOOSING your fighters? It's not just the progression plateau, I found the only reason I played beyond the first 2 hours was because there were some easy side achievements. I'm past 2 hours so I can't refund the game, but I honestly have no itch to reopen and continue playing it. I've done the same 5 fights over and over and over. I've beat the dead horse and see nothing more of interest in this title unfortunately. I guess it's not the worst $15 I've ever spent, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone either. I love the Kingdom Rush tower defense games, but this is not one of them and in my opinion this title steers the series in a direction I'm not interested in. They make great tower defense games, why did they stop? Hell if I know, all I know is I'm disappointed. If you also enjoyed their tower defense games, just know that this is an entirely different type of game and that you're taking a risk. I regret purchasing this game, if you're on the fence about it I'd recommend passing.

  I really enjoy the casual, simple, and clean gameplay from Ironhide games. Unfortunately, this game could have been 10x more fun if you actually got to see character progression. Instead, any character progression you see resets after each area. I guess you could say it increases the role that actual battle decisions have, but at the same time it unfortunately decreases the fun component of progressing your heroes or caring about them. I'm sure they will make a sequel to this, and if they do, hopefully they will leave character progression in and not reset it constantly! With all that said, it's still pretty fun, it's just that it could have been 10x more fun.

  I love the artstyle and the sense of humour but the gameplay feels deliberately slowpaced to draw out a short game to make it last longer. I feel like every decision i make, is compounded by extra clicks and the user interface doesnt appear to follow regular conventions for the genre. When it comes to player agency, you can make your own team, but most of the maps feel to me like they're designed in such a specific way that you cant really pick your team, as you'll need specific heroes to solve stuff... Its almost like this game is a puzzle game, but disguised as a unit based strategy game. The hero customization is very shallow (Only 3 "levels") and does NOT offer much in terms of advancement.

  Pretty disappointing ... I was expecting a fun relaxing game similar the rest of the series - challenging but fair. First off, the difficulty is all over the place; I'm struggling to even understand the difference between casual and normal since no matter the difficulty you choose, you can die in the first encounters or one shot the whole scenario with the same party. The game seems to focus on a puzzle you need to solve with the party composition to complete each scenario which is not something I enjoy, especially since there's barely any hero progression (3 levels and limited skills available) which means it limits the choices you can potentially make to have an optimal run. The controls aren't great either and could have been better adjusted for PC. Not the biggest problem but definitely noticeable and annoying. It's hard to recommend with the way the difficulty is setup right now unless you like to grind the same scenario over and over and pray not to get terrible RNG. If they fix the difficulty and the controls/UI, this could be a good buy on sale.

  Pretty boring and not much content. The GUI often misclicks or misunderstands clicks. Not much in the way of tuning. This is a smaller time studio, so that's expected. Their previous games were better and had more depth.

  Having read the more negative comments before making my purchase I was somewhat dubious about whether this game would be of the quality I've come to expect from Ironhide. Having played plenty enough already to make up my mind, I can tell you the answer to that question is an emphatic yes. The best way I can explain this game is as a sort of choose your own adventure turn based isometric roguelite. You control a party of three adventurers each with their own abilities, strengths and weaknesses and along the way pick up a fourth. By playing the game you gain access to new party members to choose from and new upgrade choices for the characters you use the most. Once you've selected your party you will embark on an adventure which brings you to a map dominated by nodes, without going into exhaustive detail this is where the choose your own adventure aspect comes in with the added spice of a little RNG. Personally I like this, each adventure is somewhat randomised in terms of nodes and random encounters giving the game a huge amount of replay-ability. The boss fights are tough and if you make a mistake the game isn't going to forgive you. The humour still gets the odd chuckle too. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that this game is super deep and it'll consume your life or that the controls on PC are perfectly intuitive. However, it is a really solid game to play while you listen to an audio book or to use as a break from work or study and I've already found myself spending hours engrossed in it half-oblivious to the outside world, something I haven't experienced in a game for what feels like years. If you like this sort of game or you're really into Kingdom Rush like me you will probably love Legends of Kingdom Rush. If you're the kind of gamer who wants really tough in-depth turn based strategy games it may not be for you (but give the demo a shot, it might surprise you).

  It's just, not fun. As many others have said it's a shallow game with no feel of progression due to resetting after each segment of the game. The randomness can make the game interesting but on occasion the randomness leads to impossible scenarios where you're simply doomed to fail with no fault of your own. The characters skills feel really poor and ill thought through leading to really poor balance meaning some characters are dramatically more worthwhile than others, and some just should never be in the party. I've played a lot of the TD games from this company and loved them all, but am really disappointed by this game and cannot recommend it.

  ngl half of these negative reviews are complaining about how the game isnt tower defense and how its too difficult bro just turn down the difficulty
