Open World Update review I don't know what I'm doing, or why I'm doing it, but this game is pretty jammin'. Solo dev, been working on this game over a year. It's definitely still early access (changing settings in the pause screen will return you to the main menu) but the gameplay is there. There are two ways to play right now, the open world mode, in which you complete objectives to unlock some kind of spacegate to go somewhere else (I haven't succeeded in the objectives yet lel) or the turn based mode, in which you plant towns/factories, and so does the AI. At each of the locations, you can enter and battle it out against the AI's defenses to try and take that location. Definitely a game to watch.

This needs a lot of work unfortunately but looks better than a lot of early access so I'm looking forward to seeing it progress.

I don't play a ton of FPS games but boy do I die a lot. Does look cool, might suggest toning down the bloom a bit. Glad to see a 3D Godot game.

I first heard of this game due to it being shown on a showcase reel for the GODOT engine. It was one of the two most visually appealing games and the fact that it's all made by one dude was intriguing. I was always curious if GODOT could be viable for a 3D game because like many, I too would like to make a game and I felt Unity and Unreal Engine were bloated and I've always preferred to make things lightweight, efficient and if I could use an open source, underdog game engine, that's even better. For the actual game itself, it reminds me a bit of Nano Assault. The game world isn't big (granted I haven't played that much) but the game uses a board game like structure that switched to a first person shooter when you want to take over enemy points that takes place in a type of arena level. Game controls fine and the game mechanics are simple enough, which may turn off some people with the $21 price tag (I'm Canadian and this review was written a half hour in, there could be more to this game) though this is early access and the one person developer plans to add more content and I'm inclined to believe them due to their communication on their personal feeds. It would be nice to have some settings to control graphics but I assume that it may happen in due time. It's one person after all. I will update my review once I play more of it (busy work week) but I wanted to give quick review for people pondering about the game. I think GODOT has promise and I want to support it being a viable option for game development when possible. I think anyone who is thinking about using the GODOT game engine for 3D should give this game a spin to see if it could be right for them. IT ALSO DIDN'T CRASH!... yet. That already makes it more stable than the closed alpha of Dead Matter :P

This is such an Early Access! First: there are strategy and shooter, both poor and absolutely broken in terms of user experience, eduaction curve, etc. You just don't know what to do, why, and what is going on on your screen. Strategy is to build villages and factories on the planet. Why? Which is better? What else can I do then? What is my strategy, when I'm out of spots for new places? Then you find, that there is a way to play a shooter game. I beat up every enemy I see, don't get any damage, but then I lose each and every match. Why? No UI or feedback from the game to clarify any of that. Finally, the game is visually nice, but laggy even on RTX 2060.

Maybe for some screenshots and showcases it is good title. But game itself is unplayable mess and garbage. UI is the worst. It does not even considers the video-safe areas. On my 31'' display the UI looks just terrible and unpleasant. Menu does have unskippable ugly title screens and veeeerryy long fades to black. Loading bar does not means loading - the battle mode still spends alot of time loading while bar is 100%, then much more time on black screen before game actually starts. To reach the FPS game you need to play some sort of GO-base building (I repeat - the game does have really bad and un-informative user interface). For trailer the basebuilding maybe is cool to watch - but ingame it is terrible and not fun and lacks visual feedback for your actions. At some point during base building there appears yellow dot and you can click it and begin battle. Author of the game seems knew that base-building is crap - so he/she added option to select quick battle level from menu (there like less then ten total battle stages). The weapons and enemy is trash. Probably author spent ton of time editing video to make a bullshot trailer. Notice how player carefully touch enemy robots with his gunfire (to not kill them) in trailer - because 95% of time their death effect is really ugly and bad and they just disseapear when dead. There are ton of performance problems, like I got random hicups for half of second when firing a gun. I cannot even change my mouse sensivity while in battle mode. And default setting for sensivity is very-very high. You don't feel liberating any planet like it mentioned on store page. There are just some optional text with story (you need to watch long fade-to-black animations to reach the story). Totally at the moment of writing this review Human Diaspora feels like a overpriced asset flip game! Summary: someone just throw some random models together, glued some visual-basic forms for UI, selected few CC-licensed audio tracks and called it the game. Maybe cool for screenshots, but disgusting as a game. Really terrible user experience! Avoid it at all cost while it still is in Early Access.
