  This is more of a tool for possibly teaching the basics of guitar theory to a piano player or vice versa. However, as a music educator. There is so much that has been left out. It's nice to look at when teaching a phrase, lick or arpeggio so the student can actually see the notes and different positions on the neck the same notes occur. The fact that the programmers included the modes without any true explanation of how that part of theory actually works would leave beginners and even some intermediate players confused. There are so many scales other than minor, major, pentatonic, and blues. I just feel it is very limited to what can be self taught without the aid of a teacher, and in todays do-it-yourself mentality, this would create a whole plethora of confused and frustrated musicians. Consider putting more than just notes and an interface to help the new learners and continuing learners. If you want to learn theory, please seek either a good teacher or a teacher that wrote a good how to book. The cheating and quick methods usually just leave you with less to work with and more to learn.

  In a nutshell: cute, but, insufficient. If you're a BEGINNER pianist or guitarist-- or both --and you're looking to translate your knowledge and/or continue learning basic pop songs, look no further (though admittedly you can find theses resources free online in places like jguitar.com). If you're looking to understand MUSIC THEORY better, this falls decidedly short. In fact, while it contains knowledge of most basic CHORDS, there are a corpus of chords missing, with little to no ability to create variations (i.e. a C sus2 delta #13), and moreover contains NO fundamental music theory training; there's not even an explanation for chord structures, and you would be more likely to absorb knowledge from a music theory book via the process of OSMOSIS. The GUI: The layout is fairly visual, has some nice overlays, and is minimalist. However, you have extremely limited options for sizing (say if I wanted to remove the fretboard, or have more than 8 chords on screen). RECOMMENDATION: No. Just go to pluginboutique.com and pick up Scaler 2 or Chord Prism by Mosaic Beats. Atleast with those you'll learn more about theory, have DAW integration, AND have a slew of creative tools and processes to help you with both writing and playing. I've seen more effort and information out of $2 Apps than this software, and while it has a nice bridge between guitar and piano, is incomplete and a waste of money.

  This is definitely more geared towards beginners. It's good for what it is, it's a nice reference tool, especially for teaching, but there are a lot of chords missing. Still a decent reference tool and for the price can't complain.

  This looks like a really helpful cheat sheet application for me. I expected some learning exercises from it, but this is more like an encyclopedia of guitar theory. Looking forward to using it more often in my guitar playing improvement.

  I've always wanted the bridge between piano and guitar. I first learned piano and the layout contributes greatly to my ability to appreciate musical nuance to scales and keys and guitar (and violin) are play more intuitively This app allows me to visualize the relationship between the two. Thank you.

  Interactive charts of scales and chords. Better than flipping thru a ton of guitar reference books and cheaper too. Dev is super nice and responsive. The gods of rock smile upon this program, they urge you to buy it.

  Must say that this is excellent app for people like me who doesn't handle all chords and how to convert them between piano/guitar. I've been tested quite many similar but this one is best so far. Works like a charm and I really recommend this!
