  To be honestly, i've been waiting for a game like this game for 20 years. I think i dont need to pay hundreds of $ for aquarium equipments now :D I can build what i want, again and again. Looking to the future for more fishes and equipments :)

  This is a fun game. Could use more content ( plants, fish, decorations and utilities) Over all a nice game. Recommended.

  Played for a little under 2 hours and "completed" the game. Currently, a player can reach up to level 10 whereupon completing all jobs in their inbox, will "complete" the game and have end credits roll. [u]Overall review[/u] Before I dive into my review, I am going to put a disclaimer that I purchased this game on release day. That said, I imagine that there will be more content added to the campaign in the future, but for now, it is limited. Upon first opening the game, it's got very relaxing music and engaging graphics. The menus are simple and fairly easy to navigate, with the exception of the inbox being hard to read. By this I mean the inbox background is a little [i]too[/i] transparent, therefore text can get lost in the background. The campaign game-play was engaging and even a little challenging at times, but wasn't so difficult that you couldn't figure it out with a little trial and error. Along with having a campaign mode, the game also features a "creative" mode in which a player can create their own tank and choose between having to upkeep the aquarium or leaving it maintenance-free. [b]As of writing this review, I have yet to fully explore this mode[/b] [u]Would I recommend?[/u] TLDR; Yes, I would recommend this game to someone who loves building sandboxes/sims. I would [b]not[/b] recommend this to someone who is looking for a completed game for $10* USD, because for the moment, it is a limited campaign. (*Paid $8+ USD on drop day). I will come back to this review in the future if/when more content is added :)

  The music is nice, the environment is relaxing... but there just isn't the content. Not enough plants, not enough effort in programming movement (the plants are just rigid objects). The size of the fish is completely off to a point it's hilarious to see a Corey as big as an Angel Fish. The plants should have articulation so you can put them against the glass. There is nothing that makes it feel like an Aquarium, no bubbles, no movement, just rigid Unity elements plonked down in a box. If it wasn't for the loose repeating skin of "water reflection" on the top, this might as well be a Lizard Tank Designer. There's nothing to do outside of 2 hours of game play. Edit: The dev contacted me and I explained all of these issues, but they glossed me over and said "more plants and fish will come later, please change your review". Jeez. Wait for this to be on sale for $3.

  Unfortunately this is not a game for fish keepers AT THE MOMENT. I see a lot of potential in this game and I hope the developers make it more complex but it is just frustrating to see incorrect fish behaviour and size (the size thing could be fixed if you could change the size of the fish before you put them in your fish tank), only one choice of heater (you should be able to choose different wattage for different tank sizes), only internal filters available, no canisters or HOBs. You can't use products to cycle your tank first or test the water. There is no ammonia, nitrite and nitrate scaling. The fish only have one model in what I saw? So If you buy a bunch of swordtails all of them are male. With the PH design, I do not think it is done in a great way, most fish keepers prefer to use natural PH methods such as using limestone to raise PH or Wood to lower PH as having to use chemicals to change it each water change is not ideal. It would be good if natural PH altering materials where added to the game. Good things about this game is the large selection of fish, plants and rocks. It is really great to see the variety. Although the wood selection could be expanded upon. The room environments are pretty easy on the eyes and look really nice. The plants are of a nice design too, although it would be cool to have a little variation and more movement too them. I haven't finished the campaign but I really enjoyed the quests that I did, I loved the emails and some of them where quite funny. Only thing I didn't like with one of the quests was the encouraging of putting swordtails with goldfish (I think it was a bonus objective?) I would not recommend putting these fish together in real life, although I'm sure people do and have. In general goldfish are best on there own with other goldfish. I like how you could also choose the glass and silicone type as well as cover, being able to pick those things was unexpected and quite nice! I did enjoy the game for awhile but being an experienced fish keeper, too many things where a bit frustrating for me and I had to put the game down, maybe if you are not a fish keeper, you will enjoy this game a lot more as the little things will not annoy you so much. I love fish games and wish for a fish keeping simulator, so I will check back and edit my review if game is improved. Thanks devs for your hard work!

  I'm hoping this game is a market tester/teaser, cause it is awesome, but it needs so much more. I'll start by saying a game like this was sorely needed. For what you can do, it is incredible. Good graphics and relaxing environment. My biggest gripe is that it is rather limited. Here is a list of things that would make it better. - More tank options. - Saltwater/reef tanks. - More hardscape options. - More plants. - More fish. - Add invertebrates. e.g. snails and shrimp - Better ability to cope with collision. - Wider range of sizes for hardscape/plant elements. - Longer campaign, with a more diverse set of challenges. - Campaign quests that teach or showcase different styles of tanks. - Remove timed quests. They dont really add any intrinsic value to the gameplay. Overall a good concept, but I'm hoping for much more in the future.

Daarnaast natuurlijk ook planten en materialen als stenen en stukken hout, waarvan de grootte kan worden aangepast. Ook allerlei decoraties ontbreken niet. Het spel kan op 2 manieren gespeeld worden. De eenvoudige manier, waarbij je alles wat je leuk vindt in een bak stopt, of de 'echte wereld' manier, waarbij temperatuur en pH waardes van water, planten en vissen overeen moeten komen. Start je zo'n bak, dan moeten de vissen ook dagelijks gevoerd worden. En je zult zien hoe snel alg verschijnt op het glas! Er zijn wel wat verbeterpuntjes voor [i]Aquarium Designer[/i] op te noemen, maar de ontwikkelaars staan open voor suggesties en zijn druk in de weer om het spel verder te optimaliseren.   It is missing a lot of content like one of the other reviewers have stated, but I feel like the game is just going to get fuller as time goes. Missing a whole tone of corydora species, especially panda cory's and the pet store infamous albino cory's, missing snails, shrimps, pea puffers, blind tetras would be cool for night builds, just so much they can add, which makes it great, because there's a lot to look forward too. They're also missing a lot of plants, I unlocked frogbit, but I can't use it, missing java moss, guppy grass, duck weed, being able to get java wrapped logs and rocks would be cool, missing marimo moss balls. I would of loved a campaign with story and cutscenes, but what they have is good enough, just needs a lot more jobs, because I flew through the emails and the time runs, spoiler the ending contest should of been like the beginning of the players way to professional tank building, like his step into the competitive aquarium building scene. Would like to see more - more jobs - Panda Cory's - Blind Tetras - Mickey Mouse Platy - Marimo Moss Balls I once seen a picture of someone who had put a cowboy hat on a marimo moss ball, which was in a jar, but I think that would be a whole other game lol. Also I doubt it's possible to add into this game, but if they make a sequel, would love breeding and aging.

  I've been keeping Aquariums and all manner of different varieties of fish for over 20 years. This left me bored within 15mins. Just not enough content. In response to the Dev: 1. The lack of content is mentioned again and again by many people people who have purchased this...probably should stop making excuses. 2. Whislt the price is low ($15AUD for me), it's no more than a Demo at this stage so that's actually pricey for something that doesn't entertain beyond an hour for most people. 3. I would happily pay double for a more fleshed out Aquarium Designer sim. 4. Final point is there actually isn't much point playing this right now because nothing is really simulated well. Basically a $15 wallpaper. Review stands. Good luck with the project and i will check on it in a few months but with 'Fishkeeper' coming out sometime in the new year, you have some stiff competition. This could be just another 'Biotope' which has already been abandoned just 2 years later.
