  This is a decent collection, but you need to beware if achievements are important to you. The Sonic games are removed but the achievements remain. If you buy this you can't get 100% no matter what. That disclaimer aside, the games are emulated well. Some of them just do not hold up by today's standard. If you're a serious retro collector and you want to protect your physical copies, this is a great alternative. I like that you can pick what games you want, rather than be forced to buy them all. I primarily bought this for Comix Zone, but I ended up picking up three additional titles. That said, I can think of lots of games I'd love to see as an option here but I doubt we ever will see them. It would be amazing to get NHL '94, Shadowrun, Alisia Dragoon, Steel Empire, Syndicate, Musha, Technocop, and Robocop vs. Terminator. Games like Castlevania: Bloodlines can be picked up in other collections.

  Delisting the Sonic games of this collection to force people who have yet to buy these superior original versions (over Origins) is anti consumerist and an abysmal business practise. Furthermore, adding further insult to potential buyers, if you are to buy this game and all available content for it ... the Sonic achievements are still there, thus, you will NEVER be able to 100% the game. Never.

  Great Emulation and useful Steam Workshop Support, only complaint is that the bedroom thing is pretty poorly optimised even on the lowest settings, but theres always the option of the Simple Launcher, I just wish SEGA made it easier to load workshop submissions on the simple launcher. EDIT: One more glaring issue with the emulator is that for some reason there is no built in soft reset option to my knowledge, which makes games that already have a save feature pointless since as soon as you make a save state it stops the built in saves from working.

  Even after all that I say below I still recommend this collection because it is a legal way to get SEGA roms, you can play them on many different emulators around the web with way better functionally. A really clunky and very poorly programmed emulator. This emulator has some really big problems with it’s sound in the way it garbles and even plays back some sounds at the wrong play back rate. Examples are Sonic’s Goal plates sound like a garbage can instead of a magic ringing sound. I said SEGA created this emulator but it seems that they did not, it was created by someone and used by D3T, however you would think SEGA would have had higher standards. Another thing D3T did is create a really high demanding version of a simple program from the 90’s in this virtual reality simulation. They also don’t have any way for people with slower computers to enjoy many of the “reposted roms from rom sharing sites” I mean mods. I hope sometime in the future they can get better moderators and also get an update out to disable VR room altogether with mod functionally.

  They de-listed most of the classic Sonic games to force Sonic Origins on everyone. This makes Mega Drive impossible to 100% as there are achievements tied to the Sonic games that you can't get anymore. Thank you Sega very cool

  The Sega Mega Drive Classics is more than just an emulator, It can rewind, Save state, Mirror mode and has online gameplay. It also added challenges where you start in impossible situations. It is a collection of 58 Sega Genesis games Or Mega Drive for European players. I am missing some obvious classics, but Sadly not everything is owned by Sega, Because if it where they would be included in this collection. Sega really went all out and made the best emulator they could, With tons of features and even Online multiplayer. You can play through the 58 games like normal, but you can also save states, speed up the game or mirror it completely to make it feel new, There are also a lot of challenges which place you in the middle of pre set save states. Like surviving a tough boss with only a knife or only 10% HP, some require you to get certain scores or finish within a certain time limit. Ofcourse not all games are like the best ever, But some games sure belong to the best games ever made, Just getting the complete pack is cheaper than buying these games seperately. So I would recommend just buying them all. Just Sonic 3 and Knuckles is worth it in my perspective. The Complete collection has 1 game without Linux support that's why the store page does not list Linux support. This game is Sonic CD, And it truly is a shame this one is not included in the emulator. It also is a great game, but sadly it is a seperate game that does not have a Native Linux port. It works with proton tho it has a gold rating so it requires some tweaking. I really love how Sega really added to the experience with the challenges and the emulator tweaks, One thing I do not like very much is the Virtual Room, The menu is like a 3D room of the 90s, It is very cool, but it should be optional in my eyes, It takes up a lot of resources for playing 16 bit games. The Online multiplayer is the most impressive, It really shows Sega tried to make something special out of it, Ofcourse Local multiplayer works too. I am not sure if you can run other genesis games using this emulator, I do know you can use the included roms in any genesis emulator, So if you really don't like the Virtual Room then at least it is a chance to buy these roms legally. There is also workshop support, I see other games in there, But I have not gotten this to work sadly, Maybe I am doing it wrong. It sure looks interesting I would love to switch some less fun games for some classics that are not included in the collection. if anyone can point me to this I would be grateful. Overall the game is awesome and runs very well on Linux, It surely is more than just an emulator, This is the first time you can play sonic 2 and let someone tag along as tails over the internet. I have to give it a 8, I think the room is too much, And I would love to see more classics, But it surely is a solid game, If you love Sega you should buy this.   It's a fine collection of games, but the emulator has lots of slowdown, to the point where the games are intolerable. It's a horrible effort by the developer and laughable to watch a modern gaming machine struggle to match a 25 year old Genesis. I have a raspberry pie that plays all of these games fine on retropie. Inexcusable release here. My "not recommended" review is based on the package presented here, not the original games. The dev simply slapped an amatuer Unity shell over an emulator even though that rendered the games unplayable. If you have to disable the package they created to play the games inside I have to "not recommend" this package being sold and "recommend" better alternatives to play some of these great games like Gain Ground, Streets of Rage, Phantasy Star, Gunstar Heroes, ETC. UPDATE 12/16/18: I hadn't played this since January '18 and as of then there was terrible choppiness on every attempt up to then on both my desktop and laptop PCs. I just tried it again on the same desktop setup and played the first level of Streets of Rage without any of the slowdown and audio hiccups that bothered me so much. It appears they've been able to fix some or hopefully all of their sloppy initial offerring, When I have more time I'll play through the other games and write a new review.

  Good collection for everything that's still available, but unfortunately Sega removed the classic Sonic trilogy from it for the release of Sonic Origins. I'm just glad I managed to get this collection before that happened.

  SEGA Mega Drive in Europe or Genesis...one of my consoles that I remember well when I bought her. Walked some good miles by foot to buy her with Sonic the Hedgehog as a Birthday Present from my parents. In the same day, finished the game... This bundle that make part of this product is good but miss lots of awesome games that SEGA had in old times. If you check on websites about ROMS, you'll see that, this games don't spend too much disk. So, this bundle could and should be updated with more games. Besides that, is an awesome product to remember old times of playing with school friends at home and to finish some hard games that was harder to finish, now that we have the "SAVE STATE" condition.   removed sonic games to peddle that bs origins collection.
