  Really fun and addictive game that is easy to pick up but has a high skill ceiling. Would recommend to anyone for $10. I do wish they would add some more features as I feel after about 20 hours you have kind of done it all.

  I'm not very far into the game yet but so far gameplay-wise it's pretty much what you'd expect from the devs of mini metro and the trailers and screenshots. soothing music, simple clean and pretty aesthetics, and obviously pretty fun to play. the reason my lazy ass is even bothering to write a review is because not only does the game _have_ colorblind mode, but when I asked about it on the forums I got a response from the devs and then they followed up that comment by deliberately showing off colorblind mode in their gameplay stream. turns out for me personally it wasn't even much of a deal but the fact that they care enough to add a colorblind mode and then show it off is worthy of my purchase and respect

  You begin with a simple road, maybe even a roundabout. You have your traffic under control, your roads are all placed perfectly, and you can sip some ice tea as you watch your pin count grow. Two minutes later you're shidding yourself because you have five different coloured cars fighting to the death to reach their buildings. You can only look on in horror as you watch the highway you just constructed get decimated by traffic at either entrance. You desperately try to delete roads and make new ones, but you must wait what seems like an eternal ten seconds for every car to pass by first. Pins build up, and building are overloaded. You're absolutely screwed. All of your hard work has amounted to nothing and your city shuts down. You lie in a pool of your sweat and tears, regretting the time you wasted. And you try again.

  This game is a recommend only because it feels wrong to down thumb it. Its just not as fun as Mini Metro due to a few really strange design choices. 1. you can fail due to a single point of population appearing at a location no build up or queue required, simply 1 population pops up and about 30 seconds later bam you have failed. 2. You reach a point where you fail not because of ANYTHING you control..the destination simply cannot service vehicles fast enough for the population generation..there are no upgrades to allow you to increase the lot capacity and this can happen within the first in game 300 days so despite having a route easily capable of supplying the vehicles you fail. 3. Traffic lights are utterly useless, to the point they seem detrimental to your network. 4. There is no point in planning an interlinked road network the car AI is simplistic in the extreme and will simply take the shortest route. 5. The Key to ridiculous high scores is to ignore most of the houses and only connect the bare minimum you need there appears to be no penalty for houses not being connected. Hopefully later patches will fix a lot of these issues until then..have you tried Mini Metro?

  Very good minimalistic management-puzzler! When houses start popping up in your dreams, it's safe to say: instant classic!

  An intuitive good game in a proven format

  In Mini Motorways your job is to drag roads from houses to big buildings (I like to think of them as shops). The shops spawn dots, which has to be collected by cars, of which every house has two. Slowly, more and more shops and houses spawn, and almost unnoticeable the map zooms out. The mechanics are the same as Mini Metro, the other game of these developers. At around 1500 trips the pressure increases, and only if you have a good layout you will be able to cope. At around 3000 you have to have a steady supply of cars at most shops, and this is where most games have already ended. Every week in game you can select an upgrade for your network. You can choose from two random picked out of the five available, which are bridges, tunnels, highways, roundabouts and traffic lights. The highways are by far the best upgrade. Roundabouts can be useful to make a t-split or a crossing. Traffic lights are utter garbage. The game offers some options for control and display. Normally you can delete with RMB, but there's also a toggle for LMB (very happy with that!). You can also adjust the background colour, and I prefer dark mode on everything since I live in a mancave. Naturally a colourblind mode is available.

  Future content & daily/weekly challenges

  Mini Metro has a new map every once in a while, and I have no doubt Mini Motorways gets the same treatment. The game starts with plenty of content to be busy for quite some time. Every day a challenge is issued and selectable in the game. It has special rules, like for instance receive double the amount of a certain upgrade, or shops spawn upgraded. Daily challenges are for everyone almost the same, the chance parameters are more defined. And since this is the case, only your first game is entered onto the scoreboard. The weekly challenge can be repeated for better scores. All scoreboards are infested with cheaters, and it's difficult to determine where the line is. You can also view friends' scores. The daily challenges get around 10000 entries two weeks after the launch. I'm not sure if all those entries are made via Steam, it could also be cross platform with mobile phones.   My tips for playing better

  Here are some tips that made me improve my games: - pick the highway upgrades almost always (unless sometimes with mountains it can be useless). - separate every colour. Especially on the busiest parts of the roads! The rural parts can share, but be careful! - separate the colours independently too, at maximum two shops per group of houses. It works very well if you have a shop-houses-shop chain, so that the heaviest traffic loads aren't shared. Or use a roundabout. It can be very tempting to chain all shops of a certain colour together, but it's a disaster waiting to happen! If a shop gets clogged up and nearby houses don't have any cars available, it will request cars from further away, which puts even more stress on the roads! The best solution is to have a spare highway to deploy temporarily. It was precisely why my run from the gif failed. - keep on optimising! - block parts where you don't want anything to spawn. That may mean creating big detours, especially early on.

  Conclusion

  Such a great game! I enjoyed Mini Metro also greatly, but I'm having trouble to obtain every achievement. Mini Metro is much more luck based, while in Mini Motorways you have the ability to make influence your luck. Also, there aren't any limiting achievement in this one. On one end the achievements in Mini Metro deepen the gameplay, but if combined with luck it can be frustrating. Some parts could use improvement:: - traffic lights! They are so bad! I'm not sure how they could be improved. I would rather have a double road, or a 2-1 road. Maybe a viaduct? - keybindings for pause. The game is very fairly priced. On top of that you get a discount of 20% in the bundle with Mini Metro. I always hunt good discounts, and this is just a steal! 90/100
