  Happenlance is a game comparable to getting over it, easier, but more depth to it. First off, the gameplay is pretty solid. you can spin your lance, cannot bring it closer to you liek goi though but i think thats a plus. You can launch yourself, higher if you have a good leverage, so pretty good physics, if you have speed you can bounce on your lance and if you get a lots of horizontal momentum, it will translate into vertical momentum when launching yourself so again, the physics are really good. Happenlance is level based, with checkpoint to save your progress. If you quit a level, you'll restart at the checkpoint instead of where you left from. Some level are a collection of multiple obstacle with checkpoint in between while some of them have a foddian theme where if you fall you have to restart from the bottom. I mostly made this review to address Zardinn review, but it doesn't account to much seeing he doesn't know how to read and how steam work. Tags are user defined "Popular user-defined tags for this product:" so hack and slash was put by user and not devs. The metal box level has a picture that show you need to land on the box with your spear down but i guess its too hard to understand (although to be fair, it doesnt show it on the demo). And further more like i said, checkpoint are there to save your progress and i could redo a level any time since the physics are fair, just not mastered for him. Anyway, it is a solid game, base game was around 5 hour, it has a new game + which give you a bigger lance and new game - which give you a smaller lance although only 2 level are probably harder due to that. --might be a bit expensive-- but i think it is worth it Edit : Dev added achievement so thats a ++.

  The single player content is very challenging physics/leverage based platforming. If you are not expecting that, it will be frustrating and you likely should try the demo before purchasing. The physics interactions are generally predictable as long as you're acting in a consistent manner. Small differences in input or alignment with terrain can lead to significantly different consequences, providing a range of interesting movement behavior at your fingertips to overcome a variety of different platforming challenges. The platforming challenges seem fair and intelligible, with some exceptions. For example, I ran into at least one instance of a brick placed on the edge of a platform that leads to your lance slipping off unexpectedly which (to me) seemed like an artificial way of enhancing the difficulty. Later on, a piece of terrain could be moved when colliding with it at high speeds but I received little indication that such a thing was even possible ahead of time. That said, I believe the game is trying to be frustratingly challenging, so these little "gotchas" are likely functioning with designed intent. I often found myself confused as to how exactly I was supposed to approach solving a particular platforming challenge. This is likely in part because I am not naturally inclined toward this style of game. Nevertheless, I found myself having to trial-and-error my way through precarious jumps, which was not particularly satisfying. I didn't feel like I was learning what I was supposed to do and then applying it to circumstances, so much as trying random things in the midst of difficult circumstances to see if it would cause a result that led to success. The game is technically sound. I experienced no stuttering. The artwork is very pretty. There was a general lack of music, which I didn't like, so if you want to relax to some tunes while repeatedly plunging to your death on spikes then you may need to play your own audio. Overall, if you are a fan of this style of challenge then the game is recommended. It works well. That said, this is not the type of challenge that I'm interested in, so I likely won't complete all the content.

  I was lucky enough to play through this game with a friend of mine and we both had an amazing time. We were hooked after playing the demo (no multiplayer) and were surprised at the fairness of the game. Many people including myself get angry at so called "rage games", but I never found myself filled with rage at this game. The controls were nicely done, felt appropriate and most importantly fun. We were able to complete this game on all 3 modes in 10 hours which was filled with many stabbings and other shenanigans. The only downside for this game is the high asking price at 16 dollars. I think the game has genuine passion and care from the developers, which is why I would recommend to try this game for a fun unique experience. PS. Play the demo first.

  Levels way too hard and have weird janky criteria for if you succeed or not. Adding "3 billion more parameters" might help but who cares!
