  The Thrill of the Fight and Creed Rise to Glory had a baby, then proceeded to raise said baby on Kung Fu movies and Old School Arcade Fighting games. The result is Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu. Screenshots and Videos do not do it justice. Play the demo for yourself and decide from there. It's a small download but told me all I needed to know in terms of what the game was going to feel like. Awesome game that I totally recommend!

  I hate to be the lone dissenter here. I honestly really wanted to like this one, but somehow this game really disappointed me. First - I love the VR boxing game 'Thrill of the Fight'. Despite the aged graphics, it does a good job of simulating boxing. It is still one of my favourite games now even though it's more than 5 years old. Second - I used to practice Wing Chun kung fu and karate, so I was super stoked when I saw this game. I thought it would be like 'Thrill of the Fight' but kung fu... Is it? No. You use the left thumbstick to move around, and the right thumbstick to jump and kick. There is also a dash button and a special attack button. All the button pressing and thumbstick pushing is a bit difficult to carry out while making a fist or doing a finger jab, and frankly, it holds back the VR immersion. (With TotF, all you had to do was focus on punching and blocking.) Additionally, your opponent can move you also by blocking your attacks or by striking you. While your virtual self goes flying, your brain's vestibular system knows you aren't actually moving, which further reduces immersion. The loss of immersion gets really bad at the end of a match or if you are stunned or knocked out. In these cases, you go to an out of body camera. No worse way to break immersion than that. (TotF had none of these problems.) Then there is also the special move which is also just not particularly realistic. Neither are the health bars. tl;dr It's an arcade game, not a kung fu simulator. Don't go in thinking that this game will be the kung fu version of the Thrill of the Fight. The other reviews that claim this are inaccurate.

  This game is something good and original, to not miss. Virtual Reality is surprising me again, for a gazillionth time, with this gameplay experience. I love martial arts and the game allows me to express real movements, I can see the opponent in front of me with a real distance and scale. I can practice reflexes, reactions, blocks, dodges, strikes and all the energy involved in a Martial Combat in a surreal way. Of course this is NOT a 1:1 simulation with reality, and it has some fantasy moves (Energy ball, Venom hits, Shurikens, knives, a gun, Invisible attacks, etc) Beyond all that, the game brings you the fantasy of any Martial Movie; or the thrill of good fighting videogames. Only that this time you are living the videogame in your own eyes with your own moves and you can almost feel the attacks coming. It makes your brain do a "click inside" when you start playing some rounds. I can see other players posting videos and experiences that are showing me that they share similar feelings, amazing ! I have other boxing games but I never experienced this kind of gameplay, love it. The developer seems to be very responsive and I think he is understanding how well the game is being received. He is aware already of many things to still Polish/Improve but I can tell you just now that the game is beyond al previous comments 100% Pure Fun and I can recommend you to try it yourself. I will try to complete the entire game with one character, unlock new characters, and test more combat styles to share and expand this review. The game is not an early access game. This is a full game with a plethora of characters to choose, each with it's own style/special moves/weakness/powers, different locations to play, additional content to unlock, full tutorial (good & fun to practice), etc. Just be careful, adjust your play area and activate your virtual chaperone limits. The game can become intense, I took those precautions and I'm playing without issues and enjoying it a lot. I have also no performance issues, or encountered any error to report. Stongly Recommended to not miss this game.

  A Kung Fu simulator for VR! Holy fuck is this fun! It's cardio-intensive and you will start sweating after just one fight. You can pick your own character from a wide variety of choices. You power up your special move, which has it's own hand/arm position, by blocking opponents attacks. My character, whose name I forget right now, can send a wave of damage flying through the air by slicing her hand. It's very realistic but has a slight magical touch to it in regards to the special moves that each character has. There's an obvious Street Fighter / Mortal Combat / Tekkan influence going on and it's great. There's a thorough training tutorial you can do and the game makes it easy to get started even if you've never done Kung Fu. I have done other forms of martial arts but I've never done Kung Fu and this almost feels just like sparring with a real opponent. The best part is you can do it in your living room wearing whatever you want! Below is a video of me fighting Moon.   I rinsed through the whole game in one sitting (standing?) in about an hour, on easy mode, and I was sweating my bazooka off. On hard is a real workout. There are even extra custom modes you can tweak with after you've completed the game, changing enemy HP, damage done / taken and more. The fighting itself is supremely well done. The pace is just right, with specific things you need to do to initiate a slow motion mode, and a specific hand gesture attack unique to each character. Each character also has a hidden special way of fighting, for example with the green shaolin monk guy, you can make him do the 'claw' hand pose by moving your hands in a specific pose, and it seems like the character does more damage with strikes when attacking this way. There are ways to cheese the A.I, for example. While they seem to be adept at blocking / parrying single attacks, if you bombard them with Tony Jaa double fists repeatedly, dashing at them with each assault, the A.I doesn't know how to block the second fist, which always strikes, and if you chain these attacks together, they become stunlocked and take insane amounts of damage. I've managed to crush opponents in seconds after the fight starts like this. Some characters are obviously going to be better than other's, too. The old Karate master for example, doesn't seem to have any weaknesses, but has bonuses to easy to hit pressure points. And he also has a very strong open palm strike with a unique hand movement that can be spammed with the double fist method mentioned above. Bruce Lee's character is disappointingly weak, but very funny to fight against. It is quite difficult to get used to, aswell, if you don't have full body tracking, as the jump and kick controls are very sensitive. Medium difficulty to learn, hard to master. The amount of content is amazing too, while most VR games are content with simply giving you a single map with sandbox elements, Dragon Fist is basically a whole Mortal Kombat style game, with several modes, lots of completionist friendly mechanics like earning stars for beating foes with varying success and to unlock further modes. It seems like you can unlock hidden characters too but I just play as the old Karate guy so couldn't tell you about that. The game also is not performance heavy at all. It runs beautifully at max settings for me with just a 1070 TI, with no frame drops at all. And this is impressive, because some of the levels have some nice lighting effects, and nothing looks terribly low quality. If I could change anything, it would just be to make entering slow mo something more controllable by the player. I know it deducts from the challenge, but in Blade and Sorcery, the slow motion gameplay is so much fun, and allows you to make some really crazy combos. I would also add grappling to the game in some form, and have a wrestler character in there who focuses on doing that. If grappling is added effectively, it'd could also allow a Muay Thai character to be introduced. Overall, this game is great, and is a must buy for VR owners.

  This is the best fighting simulation in VR! It's literally like being inside Street Fighter, Tekken, and Mortal Kombat! The 40 different characters and fighting styles are a major workout at any level, but the harder levels really make you work for it. I'm a fitness trainer, and in one 90 min session, according to my watch, I burned somewhere around 800 calories. With full body tracking and multiplayer in the works, this is one of the best games in the virtual reality line up! Thank you Dev Ben Olding!!!
