  This one is still good, the story is nice, though I would love to know how the creepy grandma and kid got in the caverns and what they did with the rest of their village. One big thing is the localization. Great that you translate the game to different languages, but why or why is there no way to change the language?! The translation is fine if you don't speak English and simply need to understand the story somehow, but it's still not the best and I'd rather play it in English.

  Take EXTREME note before purchasing, that this Collector Edition is identical to Darkness and Flame: The Dark Side f2p ( with microtransactions ). Already played and completed the f2p version, so rather simple and a breeze. The 20 Bonus Stages of fill the board in a straight line takes more juice out of your brain. As usual, FIVE-BN games does a good job in these Hidden Object puzzle games, smooth, fast transition and fluid story. Decent.

  Let's be honest, once you've played one of these "HOG" games, you've played them all... It's always the same, only slightly different... ;-) Still, this one's another solid installation in this genre and fully recommended for the HOG-adventure fans! PS: Some achievements are tedious and might require a game replay.

  An excellent sequel to the highly recommended Darkness and Flame: Missing Memories. The Dark Side is the third part in the series, and although I still prefer part two (a bit longer and more coherent maybe?), this was a lot of fun and won't disappoint. The Bonus Chapter is especially good. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory (or something like that), our plucky Phoenix Lass tumbles from the sky and falls into the Dark Lands. Apparently a mere million or so tons of water is not enough to stop a Dark Knight on a mission (though his minions appear to be done for). At any rate, this game features all the classic hallmarks of trying to escape from Mordor or some other cracked and diseased land of your fantasy choice. Will Alice survive to find her missing companions? Will her uncle be turned to the dark side once more (wait, I think I just shifted genres, but whatever - this is a post-apocalyptic Mordor, so why not). Once again, there's lots to do and see. This is a high quality game all around, and I wish there were more out there like this right now. Has all the current bells and whistles (read interactive map and nearly full voice acting, mostly quite good) *and* a reasonably good story. It's nice to see some solid world-building in a casual game. The 100% completion achievement isn't easy in this series, but not impossible either. May require you to replay, though, unless you read up ahead of time on which puzzles have time/skill achievements tied to them. Also, this particular game has a timed escape sequence that will get your heart-rate up if you're a sensitive soul like myself (*cough* does not handle thriller-action-horror stuff well *cough*). If Part 1 is an 8.5/10, and Part 2 is close to a 10/10, this game is a 9/10 that reaches a 9.5/10 for me because of the bonus chapter.

  I really enjoyed this one, and it might be my favorite in the series because of the storyline. I like this series a lot, it's a weird mishmash of science fiction and fantasy, set in a post-apocalyptic world with some light steampunk elements. What I love most about Five BN games is that they only charge $7 and they give you a nice long adventure with a bonus chapter and bonus puzzles you can play from the main menu. I think Artifex Mundi and Big Fish could learn a lot from Five BN, and wish their games were more like this.
