Gunner, HEAT, PC! विशेषताएं

The tank game you've been waiting for

It's a weird time for fans of modern tank combat games. The straight-shooting simulator titles from the turn of the millennium are no more. As tank nerds, we need a game that gets right to the good stuff - modern tanks, realistic system and damage models, and a focus on fun over all.

With Gunner, HEAT, PC! we aim to make that dream a reality.

GHPC will blend game and simulation in just the right amounts, providing awesome fire control and ballistics simulation behind deceptively simple controls. This core feature set serves as the foundation for a rich single player campaign mode, skirmish missions, and cooperative multiplayer modes: a satisfying option for every taste. And let's not forget about infantry and support units - tanks weren't built to fight alone. AI-controlled combined arms forces will round out the tactical environment and let armored units shine the way they were meant to.

We're making a great tank game because that's what we want to play.

I think this shows a lot of promise so far. I'm a veteran M1 Abrams crewman and I've really been wanting a modern tank sim for a while. The MMOs are too arcadey and are looking to get you to spend money on them and even Arma 3's damage model is extremely basic. (I will keep updating this review as I go.) This is a straight shooter: M1s and M60s versus Warsaw Pact era tanks and their respective IFVs. Like in real tank combat, whoever hits first is more often than not the winner of an engagement. As of right now the scenarios are very brutal and it's very easy to die. What I like so far: <*>Damage physics are pretty awesome. Spalling, component damage and crew injuries are simulated. Hit at too shallow of an angle and sabots will shatter or deflect and HEAT will fail to detonate. <*>After Action Review (AAR) system lets you see who hit who and where. I've even shot an APFSDS (before I could load HEAT) into a BMP-1, which naturally flew straight through it, and hit the BMP-1 behind it. <*>Tanks are modeled more on realism than balance, as they should be. The Soviets were all about quantity over quality, NATO was/is the opposite. Warsaw Pact tanks have a big old gun, a small profile and there are a lot of them. NATO tanks have much better fire control, optics and (on the M1 at least) armor. Warsaw Pact tanks tend to have ammo detonations due to their autoloader system, which is true to real life. <*>Voiceovers for American tank crews are pretty legit. They could use a bit of work/variety and the conditions for things being said could be improved but it's cool hearing guys go through 'conduct of fire' like in a real tank. When SHTF they start sounding panicked, which having served in combat, I can say is accurate. I'm excited for Russian and German VOs to get added. Areas for improvement: <*>Graphics are pretty basic at this stage but are serviceable. I would really like to see them stepped up as they iron the simulation/gameplay side of things out. <*>Fairly buggy. I don't want to make excuses for it but that is to be expected at this stage, now we'll see how they improve upon it. <*>The campaign works but is pretty basic and instant action is just scenarios for now. I would like to see missions have a little more to them, even if it is unit boundaries you have to stick to or even just phase lines you should be passing at certain times to stay in sync with the other platoon attacking. It's really easy to lose a mission because your allied platoon gets to the enemy first, takes them head on and gets annihilated. <*>Terrain is pretty basic, trees and forest need to be destructible. <*>AI is pretty simple thus far. They come at you and when they see you they shoot you. I don't want to say they're "aim botting" because that's all video game AI and they DO miss, but they are extremely lethal and will easily smoke you. Friendly AI seems to be able to get 'stuck' and won't assist you. I've been having some trouble getting my platoon to listen to me when I start switching vehicles or the combat gets heavy. <*>I would like to see some difficulty settings! I appreciate the realistic level of difficulty for starters, but I wouldn't mind turning it down a bit to figure out what I'm doing. Edit: This isn't so much of a problem for me now that I've gotten in the groove of realistic tank combat again but it would really help prevent newbies from bouncing off by having some difficulty controls. <*>Performance definitely needs some work. I'm running an i7 8700K and 24 gigs of RAM, my CPU isn't so weak that it should be struggling to hit 60 FPS. My GPU isn't breaking a sweat. So hopefully some optimizations come sooner rather than later. Like I said in the beginning, I think this game shows great promise. It's rare that I go in on EA titles day 1 but this is right up my alley. If you're really interested in tank combat or 'Cold War gone hot." scenarios and are interested in being part of the development of an indie game I would definitely say this is worth getting.

19 Kilo M1A1 Abrams Aims Veteran here. U.S. Army 3rd Battalion 7th Mechanized Infantry 3rd ID. I absolutely love this E.A. #1 modern Tank sims are just about non existent. It seems everyone has put a narrow sight on online play. Toxic populations and having to play online really ruins them for me in short time. Finally something putting a World of tanks detail in combat. Love seeing the slideshow of your hits and the x-ray damage on crew and equipment. You also get to see the one that got you. For a small download the game is awesome. The graphics could use optimization. I put it on CPU cores ( steam program) and forced it on high priority and onto all my cores. That gave about 25 more stable frames for total of 80 fps cranked on high. The control system is great. If you were going to have a true Tank sim you would need an actual human crew so ofcourse single player control optimization for automation of tank systems is a plus. Having to jump around crew positions is a pain. They made it pretty easy with xbox controller. I really want this sim to go far. Throw out a developer supporter package and I am there.

The Joy of Tanks. Well yes this is fun, if very early access. A good balance between pick up and play (driving, range finding and shooting) and the more tactical element of finding and flanking the enemy. When you spot the enemy, line up the shot and see the result (often a flying turret or plume of fire and smoke) it's hugely satisfying. When tracer rounds suddenly erupt from an unseen foe it's equally exciting. Both keyboard and Gamepad driving and aiming controls work well for me. I've experienced no significant performance or graphical issues. To me this game is like the 90's flight sims where the weapon load outs were near real but the flying was slightly simplified but still good enough (Flaming Cliffs 3 in DCS too if you like). This game could, in time, finally be the long awaited replacement for the old Microprose M1 Tank Platoon games, it already is in terms of driving/ranging/shooting...now if we could have crew profiles and experience to manage to go along with the already great crew voices in the game. I'll caveat all that by saying it is very much early access because: - You will need to figure a lot of things out yourself for example aiming, lazing, adjusting for range in older equipment. The Instant Action - Proving Grounds - Range is ok but this could really do with being a tutorial for each vehicle and weapon. - The AI vary between deadly (thanks for TOW missile to the face) and dense (driving around in circles and not firing back). - Night missions in old kit like the T55 seem almost impossible to me, unless I've (quite possibly) missed something. Again I experienced a TOW missile to the face before I had any real idea where they were hiding. The screen is way too dark at night too but again that could be down to the early access nature or some setting or other. My number one recommendation to the devs would be to add a fun tutorial (maybe based on a real historical encounter) that shows off the best of the game and gives players an easier way into the game. The only actual error I've seen in the game is when the damage assessment reported 'Penetrated Gunner's brain' anyone who's met a gunner knows this is a factual and biological impossibly ;) None of this is game breaking at this stage and I'm sure a lot of it will be quickly fixed, the game is, imo, too much fun to miss even at this stage, but fair warning it's far from perfect. I have the same good early access vibes about this game that I felt with Wreckfest and that is something special a few years on.
