  A super fun party game: the music and art are astounding as well as the story being cute charming as well as nostalgic to old 90s animes aka tournament arcs and friendship if youre looking for competitive however, 1 the characters currently are not fairly balanced, acute is insanely powerful with a strong tractor and high speed whereas gow is slow, weak tractor and poor attack control as for the story mode its all good and fun until you play as said unbalanced weaker characters Buuuuuuuuuut thisll most likely get patched or balanced as most games do overall this game is a real joy and i cant wait to hit rank and online play up with friends or even try some co op modes

  This is an incredibly charming game with cute characters and a great vibe. While it's not a puzzle game, it's got a lot of the same heart as 90s character-based VS puzzle games. There's a kind of Puyo Puyo energy to the cast, I suppose. The basic format of the gameplay is instantly intuitive, and the differences in movement speed, attacks, and beam power between characters makes them all feel unique. It even has a training mode for experimenting with the characters' kits. There is a short but cute story mode that unlocks additional stages and characters as you go that gives you a chance to try all the characters and learn a little about their personalities. The CPU difficulty doesn't seem to be turned up too high in it, so if you get a handle on the game, you can get through it without too much trouble. I didn't time it, but it feels kind of like playing a slightly longer-than-average arcade mode from an old Neo Geo game in length, and I had a good time with it. While the single player experience is nice, where I think this is really going to shine is when playing it against another human. I haven't had a chance to try that out yet, but I have a feeling the bloodthirst will be real and this could have legs. Definitely be on the lookout for this one as a round in your local FGC's next mystery game tournament. When playing against another person (or just in a custom game against the CPU), you have control over a few options, like whether some capsules will randomly have extra effects when broken, and can choose how many points it takes to win, up to 10. The arcade mode uses first-to-2 and first-to-3, but since a round can be over in the blink of an eye if someone gets lucky, I think I'd prefer ft5 against a real person, but I'd need a chance to try it out. There is netplay, but I haven't been able to try that yet either. There are a handful of different global regions to connect to, and when I tried matchmaking on US West, it seems like no one was around, and I didn't want to risk trying another and ending up making someone have a bad experience due to being too far away. There are private 1v1 lobbies, and while I do like the system of auto-generating a code you can share with someone to quickly get into a 1v1 match, I'd love for there to be a more elaborate lobby system with support for more than 2 players and the ability to challenge or spectate others in the lobby. Overall, I think this game has a lot of promise, and I'm really looking forward to getting to play it with some friends. I feel like if this is the kind of game you like, you can just tell from looking at it that it has potential, and I think it might just live up to that potential.

  Interesting concept, but it seems the gameplay is too simple and the optimal play can be figured out pretty fast, leaving the randomness of powerups and physics to decide the match outcome in some cases. Anything other than the 'goal prize' is pretty much useless clutter you will ignore in favour of hurling it towards your goal or the enemy side-chute and then you position over them and spam attack so they can't do anything. That's the whole game. The online is pretty dead too, except for that one person playing on Japan servers where you have 400+ ping. GL beating them! BTW, did I mention the developer expects you to get 100 online wins for an achievement with dead online? Yep, you better have a friend help you with that one because that's not happening organically.
