Create your new home and plant crops to sustain yourself (or sell in the market), and relax on the pier and fish for your dinner. Or let your adventurous side take over and wander the 30 different islands, exploring different biomes, and venturing deep into caves to unearth the secrets of the islands.

If you're getting bored of building your home, tending to your crops and meeting the local townsfolk, there are deep, dark caves below the island with plenty to explore.

  • Tend to your crops Use farms to grow the food that fuels your ventures into the dungeons and long days exploring the Islands; as well as grow exotic plants and flowers to sell back to the villagers for gold. Grow large-scale farms throughout the forest, or care for small garden beds on your balcony. Or if you're not the green-thumb type, place some pot plants and call it a day.

  • Explore the world and rebuild your surroundings. Len's Island focuses on rewarding adventurers, whether it's finding a long lost sword to claim as your own, rebuilding an old broken bridge or finding secret rooms in the dungeons. There are many secrets to uncover on the island and below it.

Len's Island brings excitement and progression for many playstyles, all within a vibrant and engaging world. Catering to the hardcore dungeon-crawler fans, home-builders and decorators, explorers and completionists, farming fanatics, collectable hoarders, and people who just want to live the simple life of chopping trees as the sun goes down.

Comfy. That's the game for the majority, it's just comfy. Did you watch the trailer, that's the game. Walking around, exploring, building, crafting, just doing silly things how you want to. Maybe you make that garden/farm, maybe you spend a good bit of time making that nice house and doing a bunch of odd quests for fun. Did you want to go murder some shadow beasts well go explore the map and go beat up some shadow beasts! The game is pretty, it sounds good, music is exactly what I enjoy and seems to fit the moods just fine. Honestly I'm looking forward to just how much this game can have content wise when it comes out because it's pretty great so far and the people I've spoken to who have tested it for a while adore what they've been able to experience for the past few months. I'm not a career reviewer like some of the people clamoring to quick review. It's a nice game, give it your two hours and refund if you don't like it is my recommendation. I think at the moment my only real gripe is the game suffers from a semi-common problem in survival-ish games like this I refer to as "decorative rocks." If a game allows you to collect stones/a stone resource via breaking down stone piles or similar then every stone pile should be harvestable. Lot of stone piles or large rocks jutting out randomly in the landscape but I can only take stone from very specific piles while I can easily chop down every tree I come across. Just a mention.

Good so far. Relaxed game, so far there have been no goals or objectives. You have the freedom to do basically whatever you want build, farm, explore, craft, survive and so on. Things is do not like 1. There is no world map. 2. There is no ability to manually change player view. It is auto so you can not look around which can be frustrating. 3. Controls could be better but they are not bad. I'm sure these will be address but for it being very very early access its great.

So. Len's Island has been on my wishlist for quite a long time. I've now played it for over 8 hrs (steam says 16.1, but much of that time was just leaving my avatar standing there while other things in the world happen like resource regeneration, food growing, resources refining, so I'm discounting that time.) Initial assessment: It's one to watch, but definitely needs work, as one would expect from an Early Access game, so no criticism there. This review is "As Is" as of 11/27/2021. It is indeed a clicky grind-fest after the first hour or two of relatively engaging gameplay. I may come back and revise if and when the game is substantially improved. I didn't read the roadmap or dev comments before I purchased. I'm concerned that their dev roadmap to release as they stated is "2-3 years." My bad for not looking closer at this before purchasing. In it's current state of development compared to other games, in my opinion, it is not worth the $24.99 I spent and makes me suspicious this may be a cash grab as has happened with so many other early access games. Hopefully not! Pros: -Beautiful setting -Perfect music -Initial exploration is fun and engaging -Building options for creating your home base are excellent for this stage of the game. -Potential to become a rich, fun game with correct re-balancing and continued development Cons: -Tediously grindy after the first couple of hours of play. You'll spend the vast majority of your time chopping trees, pounding on rocks and clay, swatting at weeds and tending your garden. This doesn't appear to stop or become much more efficient over time. While the cost of items (in mats from these resources) goes up, the yield curve of the resources stays flat. Upgraded tools/weapons does not improve the yield, though slightly improves the time spent harvesting- and I mean every so slightly. This results in an enormous amount of repetitive and unimaginative gameplay that is not offset by other game mechanics, ie questing, exploration, crafting. The game definitely needs re-balancing and substantial development in this respect. -Exploration is limited, though at this stage, it is to be expected. Devs 'promise' more islands and dungeons to come. -Dungeon diving/exploration/farming needs work. You'll always start at the top of the dungeon and will need to fight your way down through the annoying hordes of freshly regenerated monsters and monster spawners each time you dungeon dive. This gets to be very tedious. -No health 'pots'. The only option is to spam eating food during battle to recover health during the fights. You grow/make the food over time back at your camp. Overall, a game with a lot of potential but right now, very limited in scope with no replayability. Is it worth $24.95 for several hours of engaging gameplay before it gets too boring and grindy? That is the question right now. I personally can't recommend it at this stage for that price point.

Just for reference I have "finished" the game in its current form / completed the dungeon. It took me about 12 hours (two sessions). I plan to keep playing just to have fun building and farming. I loved every waking minute of this game, the atmosphere and sounds were a delight. The combat system was interesting and challenging and I can see a lot of assets in game that suggest where they will take the game next in regards to future updates (and they look promising!). If you like games like the sims, stardew, Diablo - you will love this game. It's also a small indie game studio of 2 people so investing in this game now would go a long way for them I'm sure.

Sigh.. wish I could give it a neutral 'recommendation'. Has great potential ,but currently the game feels a bit life and directionless. Once you get over over the initial serotonin pulse that the nice visuals, relaxing music and overall atmosphere provide, the game becomes stale quite fast. You can build your house up and fight 3 kind of monsters in the mines, basically that is the loop, without any real incentive. No wildlife, no hunting, no fishing, npcs are basically signboards next to the few items you can purchase/sell, no real goals or quests, too little variety in every aspect (fighting/building/crafting/farming). I feel bad giving this a thumbs down as there is clearly a solid base to build upon, but at the current stage I feel at 20.99 eur it is a bit overpriced. Will definitely keep an eye on it and will return to change my rating once the devs fill it up with content. Keep up the good work guys!

I thought it was going to be a short tryout period of maybe 4 hours but I put over 14 hours already. Downside: It has a great foundation for it being early access but it lacks content. When you die you don't drop a bag, and therefore a good amount of your inventory disappears (devs are already making an update for this). There's no map (devs updating), story doesn't have a solid premise and there's no quest or missions to accomplish. Upside: However, even with the lack of, the game still has a pretty decent amount of things to do. It does live up to it being a building base sim, there are cave systems with mobs that you can explore and you can craft some weapons but no armor. If you follow them on discord the devs already said that they are estimating 3-24 months for continued update. So overall, i'll give it a solid 7/10 just because it has a solid foundation to expand but it just lacks content.

Great game with beautiful graphics, but lacks enough content to make it worth playing for a while. Overall, everything currently in the game is pretty solid and doesn't over-promise on what it offers, but it just isn't developed enough yet. You'll likely get bored pretty quickly because it lacks content and enough purpose. It has a lot of potential, but I'd recommend waiting on buying this game. PROS: - Beautiful graphics - Open world where you can build anywhere on a decent size map (though not enough reason to explore or travel) - Flexible and easy-to-use building system. With multiple floors, too! - Pretty solid combat system with an elaborate dungeon. CONS: - Not enough content, at all. While the game feels pretty polished in its current state, it lacks a lot of content. - Game lacks a bit of direction, or unlockable content. I appreciate that the game is kind of "just do what you want", but I wish there was a little bit of a guide to point you in certain directions. - No quests or things to do. Even fetch quests or "get 10 of this resource" quests would give the game a bit more to do. - When you die in a dungeon, you lose everything you gathered (I think?). It gets a bit frustrating. - Hotbar is frustrating. You're limited to 3 items, and you can unlock more, but you're constantly juggling which tools/weapons you have, and it becomes very frustrating running back and forth to switch items. - Farming is a pretty good, but gets tedious in some ways. You can unlock a scythe to harvest all of your crops at once, however, it also harvests crops that are not yet finished growing, which is really frustrating when you accidentally cut down nearby seedlings. - Selling interface doesn't show you how many crops you have in your inventory before you sell it. - The controls are a bit difficult to use. There's times when you need to jump and roll, and it's just a bit difficult to do. - I ran into a bug where my water bucket would no longer fill up, even after restarting the game and building a new well. I could only refill at the ocean, which made farming super annoying.
