Gurei is a hand-drawn, stylized game about fighting a diverse cast of Kami inspired by the japanese mythos. When a Kami is defeated, you acquire its unique power and the next Kami in your chosen path will become slightly stronger, until you've conquered all of them!

Story

"Warring grey spirit

The protagonist, Rei, is a human spirit bound with an ominous duty -- Defeating mystical entities of nature, the Kami, to obtain their power. Exploring the Spirit Realm, you will encounter peculiar beings and environmental clues that may provide deeper insight into the game's world and Rei itself.

Combat

Put your sword to good use in a fast-paced, responsive combat system. In addition to multi-directional katana attacks, Rei can perform a variety of abilities, such as dodging, wall jumping and head stomping. A basic moveset with a high skill ceiling is a core aspect of Gurei.

The Kami

As a Boss Rush, Gurei counts with challenging foes known as Kami -- Each one with unique attacks, movement options, behaviors and arenas. When defeated, they will grant a new power to your arsenal. Choosing a path with your preferred tools shall be crucial for victory!
