I won't give this a thumbs down. It is better, for me, than any pixel graphic farming sim. That said, I am rage quitting because of beavers. I enjoyed a lot of it but it just gets annoying. I can't tell which alpacas are male, the rats eat all the hay, the stamina takes ages to refresh, and it takes half the day to collect fruit. I have mixed feelings, really. It was a mildly infuriating 14 hours but there was always something to do. If the beavers ever get less difficult to corral, I'll be back.

I wish there was a "Medium" checkbox instead of just Yes or No. Consider this a medium review, but I went with negative because... the game disappointed me massively by ending way before I was expecting it to. I still got quite a few great hours out of it! If this genre is something you love, you'll really enjoy it. But PLEASE read on before purchasing to avoid the disappointment I experienced! Pros: Honestly, I had a BLAST playing it, it's one of my favorite farm sims. The pacing is awesome, it's pretty, the mini games are challenging, and the devs are pretty responsive about bugs. Cons: Notes about ending - doesn't give anything away, but hopefully it will allow someone to not be as disappointed as I was - Disappointing, abrupt, confusing ending (it sounds like they plan to release additional content in the future as DLC instead of having an ending, or doing so as Seasonal events). Literally, half of my map is still foggy - but there are no more quests, and I can't reach the rest of the areas. I guess it's not meant to be explored. Hence, my shock and disappointment. Buggy as heck. My machine worked, with some funky occasional weird things - just save often if you get it. Also, the devs are super responsive - the discussion pages are really active, and so are they. I am keeping tabs on this one, I'm hoping for updates or for free DLC, and I'm absolutely willing to change my review if the updates change what my note above describes. In its current state, this game should not be listed as Full Release, and in my opinion it's bad form to put DLC behind a pay wall if people pay full price for your game and find out it has no ending, and the map is inaccessible.

Managed to finish it before official 'launch' so here goes: This is another farming sim with a hint of the mystical behind it. As you venture off to your Grandparents' dilapidated farm, your character becomes a bit of a Dr. Doolittle with a twist. Pace is just right for the casual gamer (though if you want to stop mid-day, you need to do a manual save) and days go by languidly giving you enough time to set up your farm, forage, fish etc. Pros: - Decent variety of animals, bugs, fish and frogs to keep you busy for a bit; the 3 breed tiers are great for longer games, but you can absolutely get by on the basic Tier 1 animals buying, breeding, and selling - Days go by slowly, giving you plenty of time to do what you need to do and explore for a bit - Droughts, while annoying, still give you the option of getting water elsewhere and still gives you time to do your pattern of dailies - Stamina is limited at first, but you can grow it as you learn cooking recipes - You can pet the chonky animals, even the wild deer and boars - Trees and crops are easy to dig up and move, customize what you want - Crafting recipes aren't "expensive" material wise - You can ride multiple animals (though some won't want to be ridden!) - Easy to find and make 'free foraging money' for early upgrades. Honestly if you explore, you find a lot of things you need for later builds free. - Wardrobe is just enough to be a thing, limited in styles but honestly a kid shouldn't be a dress-up diva in a farm sim. - Hidden quests (like the Contaminated pond) pop up in places. Cons: - The dog whistle for herding is... challenging to use. Even altering left and right easily, it's hard getting domestic animals (and in a late case, wild ones) to go where you want them to. I found it easier to pet them every 20 seconds or so, so they'd follow you. Much easier. - Horse navigation is clunky. You guide their direction with your mouse and it's third person view. The sprint speed tends to make them go off hard left or hard right sometimes with no discerning reason other than you breathed a little tough in that direction. (There's a mini-game that actually feels LESS clunky, but not much) - The map size. It starts small, but my goodness it gets positively massive when you start getting near endgame. Have a tent handy to sleep outside easily otherwise the 'spooky wolves' will be out to get you. I'd say use the horse to get around faster if it wasn't as clunky to use as previously stated. - Geese. The hit-box on these are questionable and sometimes you get stunned even though they're a good two sword lengths away from you. I find running around a rock and then returning to dig for the white X rocks for 'collectibles' was my path of least resistance. Sometimes I was able to get first strike on the geese using this 'fleeing' pattern - Bees. Be careful with your food supply when around these things. While you can use heavy ingredient recipes to boost your max stamina, if you're stung by bees, your 'semi-permanent' max health gets nerfed each time you get stung. You have to basically munch on high-ingredient/high-refined foods to get it back after being attacked. Sometimes the bee smoker doesn't work when you go to retrieve honey (range detection issue) or when you go to catch forest bees for the first time, you're gonna get stung once or twice alternating between net and bee smoker. - Weeds. The detection on the shovel tip can be... trying. I found coming in on the side of the plot and aligning the tip with weeds that grow in between or under your crops are easily removed this way. Sometimes it's impossible to find the right angle and you have to dig up that crop to 're-start' its growth cycle after you clear the weed that was stuck under it. - Exploration gating: You will not be able to go corner to corner early. Nails are given to you after key dreams or conversations with your grandparents happen, don't go looking for them or to craft them. - Mountain Goating can get you stuck in places (I have a Screenshot where I managed to get outside the map and I'm doing a hard staredown at a wolf well past 10 pm. I had to let the wolf get me so that I'd respawn at the farm. Minus the few clunky navigation issues, this was a short farm sim time waster that has a cute story and interesting 'mini-games' with all sorts of animals.

This game has issues - and until they are resolved, I unfortunately can't recommend it. The good: - Cute graphics - good ideas (potential) - some interesting mechanics (i.e. training your dog) - charm The "if they don't fix this, it's not a game": - Tutorialization quests like "Milk the cow" do not recognize if you did the action prior to accepting the quest (You have to wait until you can gather the demanded resource again which can take a few in-game days.) - Some quests are simply bugged. I.e. there's one where you need to lead the cat to a tree to get a rooster to come down. My cat's trained but it simply won't trigger. - Sometimes items randomly vanish instead of going to your inventory. The "QoL improvements that the devs will hopefully consider, 'cause this game could be great": - Too many tools. You get a toolbar with the usual 10 slots on the numbers keys - only there's far more tools and knick-knacks, you need: Hammer, Wooden Sword, Axe, Whistle, Basket, Empty Jug, ... the list goes on and on. At the moment, the gameplay involves WAY too much "open inventory, switch items in toolbar, close inventory". - Controls - Most interactions are on "F". That includes chopping trees just as much as consuming whatever you are holding. I can't count the amount of times I accidentally consumed an item, demolished a fence or did other unintended actions because focussing on objects is finnicky. The controls should get playtested in some form and optimized because at the moment it's often a pain to interact with the world. - Map - this is just a personal opinion but this game would really profit from custom map markers. As it stands the map gives very little information and it's pretty easy to end up in the middle of nowhere. Also, workbenches should have icons on the map once the player has found them - they're spread far and wide across the farm and that makes navigation tedious at times. - Geese are hyper-aggressive. You usually don't really see them coming due to the tall grass and before you know it you're being chased for way too long and too far by rabid poultry. - The tutorialization and exposition need work. Half the time the game doesn't properly explain what you need to do and a lot of mechanics are locked behind tutorial quests that don't acknowledge stuff many players figure out on their own. - There should at least be 1-2 more face shapes with a more narrow chin available. It's a great idea to make the player's gender not a selection but an aesthetic but for that to work it should be possible to look feminine and the current face shapes are lacking in that area. I have hope for this game because there's some clearly good ideas here - and some that set this one apart from other games of its genre. But without some QoL improvements it'll end up as another dream of a game that could have been. Edit: Another bugged quest is the primrose flower field for me. It says to pick up 10 pieces of trash but there's nothing besides two cans.

Really fun, simple farming simulator that is very relaxing to play and there is always something to do around the farm. Well optimized too.

This might seem a bit rushed after only 30 minutes, but.. This game is, plainly speaking irritating me with the whole control scheme, everything is on the F button, accidentally doing the wrong thing is just unavoidable if you need to swap tools frequently, like demolishing stuff you wanted to repair for example, it happened quiet alot and i dont know if its just on my end, but holding F to do anything seems to be bugged and wont work 90% of the time, so i have to shuffle around infront of the object i want to repair or demolish until i hit a sweetspot where it works. (restarting the game and unplugging the controller(and then restarting) did nothing) Plainly speaking, in its current state its frustrating to play. The character creation is also very ... simple, whatever you do your character basically looks the same in the end, id like more face shape options and eyes that just look different, the ears are also weird, but that might be by choice. This is at best a game in early access, its riddled with issues that should be rather easy to fix , but make the gameplay experience quite alot less fun and thats after not even experiencing most of the gameplay mechanics. (pushing out dlc after a bit over a month is also an odd choice, focus on the main issues first please) I'm going to refund it, i was lured in by a bunch of positive reviews, but i made the mistake of giving too many games a chance until the refund period passed, just for them being abandoned by devs

tl;dr not worth the money for the unplayable state it's in. It's *extremely* buggy. They released way too early and didn't playtest it enough. It's a shame, because I really enjoyed the demo and was looking forward to the full release so much. Quests don't complete if you fulfill the requirements before getting the quest (like if you find a specific animal wandering and bring it back to your farm, then later get a quest to find the animal, it won't update). The sound effects stop working randomly, but the music and ambient sound still work. The merchant never gets rid of the things you sell to him. He still has stuff I sold him on day one, and I'm around like day 20. There also isn't a way to sort his inventory, other than alphabetical or by price. The same goes for your own inventory, and the chest they give you on the farm. These are all things that people have brought up in the discord, with little-to-no acknowledgement from the devs. I don't think it's malicious negligence, but I'm not writing this review about them. This review is about whether or not the game is worth $25 and right now it isn't. I'll probably revisit it once they've had a few more patches, because the game itself is very fun. It's just currently unplayable. ETA: In the "steam bugs" channel of the official discord, maybe 10% of the reports from the last two weeks have a response or emoji from a dev or mod. Example: 7 days ago someone posted about their game *no longer saving* and thus being unable to progress because it would all just reset to that particular point in time. Just one of several game-breaking bugs that have been reported with no official response. There was someone who was at least responding to reports with a check mark emoji, but that seems to have stopped about two weeks ago. I get that programming takes time (and rightfully so), but if the devs are working on them they need to let people know so it doesn't seem like we're reporting to the void. The game shouldn't have been released to EA in the first place, but there's no fixing that at this point. My main issue right now isn't with the number of bugs, but rather the lack of acknowledgement. (Also a side note but the translation to English is *terrible* and has caused confusion with quests due to phrasing, but that's something that will likely get hammered out in time.)

This is an adorably cozy farming sim, where you spend the summer helping your grandparents bring their farm back to life. Unfortunately I can not recommend this one for a couple reasons. 1. The idea of the nightly dreams sounds like a good one but I did not enjoy the repetitiveness of the simple games, thankfully these are skippable "press Q". 2.Stamina. You increase your stam by eating cooked meals. In the beginning I would try to eat cooked food but it didn't work. Not sure if this was a bug or if it was time gated. Eventually I was able to increase my stam by eating and finally raised it from 1 bar to 5 bars. After bar 5 the game told me I needed meals with more ingredients but you find the recipes under stones guarded by geese (it's not always a recipe either) and I think it may be random. The system is very ambiguous which can lead to frustration. 3. You have to hook up your sprinklers, so if you use them you have ugly wires and hoses all over your farm. 4. If you upgrade your animals the only benefit you get is more work. You will now have to milk and shear every day, instead of every two or three. To me it would have been better to keep it at every three but you just get more. 5. There is nothing to spend your money on. I did not want to upgrade my animals, so other than that there is not much to buy. 5. The dreaded beaver quest. This made me rage quit. I could tolerate the other things but this one sent me over the edge. Ultimately this wonderfully cozy game is marred by some really frustrating game mechanics. Each by itself would be tolerable but added together.... I will say, that devs are very responsive and helpful but the game is not in EA and I don't really see the main mechanics of the game changing too drastically. If these things don't sound like a problem for you, then get the game. It's very cute and wholesome.

To me, the graphics, music, and sounds were a great fit for the genre, and the game has potential. But have you ever played a game where all of the controls just feel slightly off, and there's a major disconnect between you and the game as a result? That's this game for me. One of the key elements to a farming sim game is making sure gathering of any kind is borderline cathartic. It's tedious by nature, so make it a fun experience, where every time you do something it adds to the fun. This game felt more like every time I did something, it made it slightly less fun, which is sad, because like I said, loads of potential. With some time to bake I will definitely give it another try and update this review.

I think this game is a refreshing take on the farming sim genre. It is not just another stardew clone. It is cite, charming, there is always plenty to do. In fact, a little too much to do. It can get annoying having to kick trees to harvest fruit for the 3rd time in one day and constantly be harvesting crops. I would prefer if the harvest windows were a little longer. I enjoy that the pets have jobs and aren't just mobile decor. However the one dream mini game I played so far has been infuriating. The wolves DELETE not just make it so you have to repair them but COMPLETELY DELETE your fences. After spending an hour building all my pens that was....really annoying. And all the animals get out and you have to sort them out all over again. And I don't like that once they have an animal, that's it, you can't scare it into dropping the animal. Basically once it's got an animal there's no use in chasing it anymore. And searching for the animals the next day? Also annoying. I have no idea where they are and ran out of hunting treats and haven't unlocked fishing yet so I have no way to get more so I am just forced to run around the entire massive map looking for these sheep and then have to herd them all the way back. It was overall not a fun experience whatsoever. My recommendation is to make hunting treat production unlockable before you unlock the dream sequences, thus making it actually doable to find your animals. (Still haven't found one of my sheep). Make it so wolves do not DELETE but rather damage fences so instead of having to craft an entirely new fence you only have to repair it. Finally, if your dog catches up to a wolf with an animal in its mouth, the wolf should drop the animal. That and making harvest times for crops and fruits less frequent and I think this would be a really great game and will get a thumbs up from me! In its current state I don't know if I'm even going to bother playing it again.
