  [h1]Pros:[/h1] + Clymenia + Nice setting + Some nice new gameplay elements + Very good translation + Protagonist looks like Naoto from Persona 4. [h1]Cons:[/h1] - Generic and very easy rpgmaker combat - Artstyle, while generally nice, has issues - Very short [h1]In-depth:[/h1] I love Clymenia. I love everything they've done so far, especially what's now known on Steam as "Public Defense Corp". And this game is no exception. Except for the fact that it was very short and had relatively few events, I really enjoyed it. It has nice assets, some interesting gameplay elements, with variety of solutions for the quests depending on what skills you have. The only real issue I have is that some pictures have the protagonist with hilariously disfigured feet. Did you guys forget how to draw? You can do better than that... Overall, while I do recommend this game, it's not my favorite. In fact, I think I've enjoyed almost every other game they've made more. "XVI", "Salvation", "Hypnosis Aristocrat" and of course, "Public Defense Corp (aka Civillian Justice League 2)". This was by no means bad and still leagues better than almost any other RPGMaker eroge out there. But I was just hoping for a little more.

  Another eroge, another reason to shame myself in front of thousands by reviewing something that might expose me as a miscreant. But enough of my woes, let's jump right into it, is Detective Girl of the Steam City good? Short answer yes, long answer yeeeeees. Detective Girl of the Steam City is an "eroge", as I've said before in my reviews if you don't know what an eroge means then you're more lost than an orphan in parents' day. Eroge is basically "Erotic Geim (game)", meaning you're not going to find Christ in this, so if smex makes you squimish kindly do the following turn around, run away as fast as you can and never come back to this genre, preferably in this exact order. Anyway, on with the plot, you're a detective girl whose name is Naoto Shirog- oh wait, I- I mean Sophie. You're a smart girl, who's too little in the eyes of her peers more ways than one. Despite your intellect and quick wits, the police and other detectives see you just a little more than a child. Because of this, your dream to wear your father's shoes seem to be so far away. To gain their trust, confidence and love... lots and lots of love, you advertise yourself and your firm by solving mysteries, disputes, run of the mill crime, and even a literal turf war. It's easier said than done because Kino, I mean Sophie, doesn't start out strong. It doesn't take much for you to find yourself sandwiched between a goon and the cold hard floor, with a cold hard rod churning inside you. Therefore, as Sophie you must try to use your eloquence, your cunning, and your allure to get through the hordes of thirsty umpalumpas who seem to want you more than anything in this world despite being so flat an airplane can land on your chest. Gameplay is meh. It's an eroge... they weren't selling this to compete with the likes of Final Fantasy, Tales, or Persona in mind. Fighting is bare bones. You attack baddies, they attack you in a turn based combat, the game of gentlemen. Of course the part 'gentlemen' ends after you lose, because the difference between an "eroge" and a "normal game" is that in an eroge, when the enemy says he'll fook you, he didn't mean it as an insult. Before every battle you get to choose between trying to talk your way out, giving them a cheap shot which can instantly kill them if you're strong enough, or polish their rods. Artwork is great but nothing special. The crowning glory of this work, in terms of art, is Sophie herself. I and I assume many others, are tired of seeing pairs of medicine balls glued on cows. As a girl and a washboard myself, each time i see one of those abominations I go "HOW DO THEY EVEN WALK?!" Sophie is a big departure from that non-sense. She's not a kid but she doesn't have the body of an implant model either. Furthermore, while i say 'nothing special', in CGs, she's extremely beautiful, of course that is before she gets marinated in thick yogurt every now and then. Translations are spot on! I am honestly happy that the horrible days of "Dark Elf" and "Kings Exit" is behind us. The translations for new eroges and galges are all surprisingly well done. Nothing sounds off, and more importantly, there are no crashes due to it! Basically, I can and will recommend this game. It's cheap, and it gives you what it promises. This is a good addition to any eroge connoisseur. "We can still... hnggg~, just say that you tripped at a slippery place and accidentally, nhgg~, went inside" -Kino Shirogane 8/10

  Ho bro this game is one strong ass video game. This title is definitely one of the strongest titles Kagura Games went and published. To get the experience the folks from Clymenia wanted you to have you gotta patch it in, and that patch is available on Kagura Games's website. While you there you can look at screenshots from the game. That way, you know, you get a feeling of the game's artwork and if you like em. Story wise its pretty good for a hentai game cuz. You go and choose between a "Police Route" and a "Gangster Route" each with their own ending. The "Police Route" centers around solving mysteries while the "Gangster Route" revolves around a more classical rpg killing creeps and leveling up game style. The game also features a "Reason" system. The more you lower the stat the more Sophie will be willing to do the dirty deed. So if you like that "moral degradation" or "corruption" tag aye lucky you this game's gottem. The main character Sophie is one cute little honey my dude. If you like reverse traps and lithe body types, RIGHT up your alley bro! There are a ton of h-scenarios featuring this little minx. The main character's rival, The Phantom Thief, is one foxy mama jama, and she gets in on the fun if you know what Im saying. :3 At the end of the day is this game worth the money? From this uncle's opinion HELL YEAH CUZ! I give this eroge a solid 8 Lau Laus / 10 Poke Bowls.

  my first h-rpg and it means a lot to me since it then brought me to have more than 200 gb in h-games as of last summer. 10/10

And of course, great use of her own mind and body. Rest I pretty much told in pros and cons... have nothing to add. Another great Clymenia game with great female CG, plenty of scenes, some great kink variation and on top of that fairly fun storytelling and more enjoyable gameplay than usually off H-rpg'maker games.   Honestly, this wasn't the one. The music is nice, the graphics are great and even the story isn't too bad. However it's very bland in many ways. The combat is honestly wack, since there are ONLY like legit 4 options to use for combat. The CGs and scenes are meh. Honestly, it's lacking in this department by a lot. You will get three different events that have the same scene setting and the same CGs presented, but the scenes and CGs are definitely not as sexually thrilling as Makina, THC, etc. The game is fairly quick and most of the time, you're either walking around looking for quest you've previously accepted but have no idea of doing it because they have nothing to remind you of where to go. Lastly, the city, honestly it's so one dimensional it's crazy no one is talking about any of this. Legit only 9 squared spaces in the city that you can travel to and the quest will tell you to go top left of the city, bottom right of the city, etc. and the city itself is just bland rectangular tall buildings with a little bit of steampunk. If you're still reading, listen closely, this game is HIGHLY overrated. I've played most of Kagura's published titles, but I think this might be at the bottom of the list, if not, very close to the bottom. This wasn't the one -_o_o_-
