  I've refrained from reviewing the other games in the series because I really had little to add beyond "It's fun and cheap and challenging and you should definitely play it." As to this, the sixth one, well...it's fun and cheap and challenging and you should definitely play it, but do be prepared for this one to kick your ass. While I completed the first five titles 100%, this is about as far as I'm going to get with Santicide. The big change from fifth to sixth is a huge spike in difficulty. This isn't necessarily negative - notice I'm still recommending it, as I do enjoy a title that I don't finish within an hour or so - but it is something to consider for those people who find UBERMOSH too difficult. The big change is a major tweak to the waves. Shielded enemies show up quickly and frequently, and the last few seconds of any given round are often spent in the company of a "boss" that moves a lot faster than anyone else and avoids shots. The shielded enemies mean that a powerful gun isn't enough to keep the hordes at bay this time, which is rough on more offensively oriented classes like the Psyker, Wraith and especially the poor Gunner. This is probably for balance reasons - it means that you can't wait out each round while brainclap and manastrike do all the work for you, and it makes the underappreciated Kensai a lot more attractive - but damn, does it ever make the fragile classes a hassle. That's even before getting into the Santicide difficulty, which simply floods the screen until you can't see much of anything and seems to bring out the shielded enemies even more quickly. Again, I recommend it because it's UBERMOSH and therefore great, but it may not be for the faint of heart.

  The short version: This is fun for the price, but you are getting what you pay for at $1 or less. Don't expect much more than that. --- Note: There's currently 8 games in the Ubermosh series and since they all share enough in common with each other, I'm writing one review for the series and then copy & pasting it to all of them. --- What it is: A pixel art combat arena with rogue-like arcade design and a focus on a simple combat gimmick that is easy to learn but difficult to master. Each replay is expected to be just a few minutes long, die and repeat. Taken for what it is, this is a few fast paced minutes of fun that you can pick up and play as a break. The story (not that it needs one) is a simple excuse for the action: the real world is peaceful but humans need violence and created the uber-mosh-pit so they can exercise their violent tendencies. You are teleported in, given a sword that can knock back bullets and let loose in an arena of death and carnage. Slice and shoot your way through waves of cloned minion-enemies in a bullet hell until you take enough damage and get teleported out. Like a classic arcade game your only real goal here is to get a higher score each time. For a bit of variety there are different classes to pick from, some focus more on guns or the sword and each has a different number of respawns before your run is ended. There's a list of challenges to complete to obtain the achievements, the majority of which are kill/score X number with Y class. It's as simple and straight forward as it sounds, but its also just cathartic action fun and if you're into that old-school action mentality the achievements can be quite a challenge to earn. That basic design is present in every game in the series. --- What each new game does: is evolve the formula just slightly. Each has a slightly different arena / playing area. Some add additional classes for more style choices. Sometimes new enemies along with the old ones. What the developer did was after making the original template he listened to fans and created a new variant each time based on their feedback and requests. In many ways if this were a bigger more expensive game each of them could have just been one level and kept updating one game. Instead he kept it simple and cheap and each $1 game is a variation and evolution of the previous one. It's an unusual design choice, but at this cheap a price it's not a deal breaker. If you're unsure that this style is for you, buy one of them for under $1. Otherwise you can typically get all of them in a bundle for less than the price of a larger game anyway. You could easily get a few hours out of each trying to complete the challenges for the achievements, chipping away with just a few minutes of cathartic violence at a time. --- If you are wondering about the order, it's by release date and he just chose to name the even ones and number the odd ones. While the core gameplay is the same in each, I do suggest starting from the beginning as you'll better appreciate the minor changes to each as it evolves from one to the next.   First off this game is just brilliant. I love the new skills the new weapons just everything. After two hundred years the blade saint returns.......that is not correct the blade God more likely. Best one of the uber mosh series well done best 2$ i ever spent thanks Dev. Just try this for yourselves its a pretty good arcade style game.

  This series gets better and more controller-crushingly intense with each iteration. A true labour of love from the dev. Slicing incoming bullets and firing about a million back never gets old. It's pure fun delivered in 90 second bites.

  Off first impressions alone the sound track is amazing, the multiple play styles that are available are all interesting and the missions alone are challengeing but fun. I can feel that this game will have a lot of re-playability for me.
