[b]nice pixel graphics[/b], there are even a bunch of level backgrounds to choose from with f12, and the music's not bad either. keyboard, gamepad and joystick(!) are supported and [b]controls are fully rebindable[/b]. excellent news, as the defaults are pretty bad (enter for pause?) and it's important to note that [b]the accept and back buttons rotate the pieces[/b]. it's not mentioned anywhere, and for an hour I though I could only flip the two colors and everything has to be vertical for some reason. [b]pressing esc anywhere in the menu immediately quits the game[/b], no settings saved if you were in the middle of tinkering with them and didn't manage to back out of a particular set of options. pressing esc also brings you instantly back to the menu while playing, which is a fun way to lose some progress accidentally. since f12 is used for changing the background, [b]you can't take screenshots[/b], and more often than not the game didn't appear on my taskbar after alt+tabbing. [b]volume settings and windowed mode are available[/b], along with a few more settings, not too bad. [b]there are 4 game modes.[/b] [u]30 challenges[/u] for single player, 5 types with 6 levels each. make combos, longer matches, clear garbage blocks, etc. I'm not a tetris expert, but I couldn't even do the first level of some, but made good progress with a few of them, until they got too fast. the name of this game mode is apt, to say the least. [u]versus[/u] is a competitive mode for 2 local players with some customizability: speed, number of colors, matches necessary (can be as low as 2), garbage block type and strength, etc. you don't need extra controllers for multiplayer, a single keyboard works fine. [u]arcade[/u] is for 1 or 2 players, not competitive, fixed rules, no customization, and [u]endless[/u] is somewhere in-between, for 1 or 2 players, it's customizable, but not played against each other. all in all, [b]a worthy addition to one's tetris collection[/b], as the presentation is good, it offers multiplayer and plenty of variety and customizability, and the price is not too high either.
