  "Road Rash" is back and better than ever thanks to Road Redemption! Well I have to say that this game has been so much fun, I just completed the early access version of the game, and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed. I like to keep things simple, so I will give you a list of things I liked and disliked from this title! [u]Things I enjoyed from Road Redemption:[/u] [list] [*] Great controls! (Game handles pretty well, keeping that balance between realism and fun.) [*] Action Packed (Game keeps players on their toes, with funny wipeouts in the mix of things.) [*] Lots of Weapons (Tons of things to fight with, including guns, which Road Rash never had.) [*] Upgrades and Perks (They work wonderfully and really help the player through the race.) [*] Different Environments (They change as your progress.) [*] A Secret Map (Are you guys kidding me... Freaking [spoiler]Rainbow Road from Mario Kart?!?![/spoiler]YES!) [/list] [u] Things I feel need some work:[/u] [list] [*] Optimization (The maps can become very very laggy with frames dropping to around 5 FPS, I have a pretty beefy rig with a Radeon 7970 and it shouldn't have problems with a game like this.) [*] Voice Overs ( I really wish there was some kind of voices for the police and riders, not really dialoge, more like "Oofs" or laughter and maybe a "Pull over!" from some cops now and then.) [*] Character Customization (There really isn't any, but this is early access and I have a feeling this could change easily.) [/list] Overall this game is really fun and takes me back to the good 'ol PSX days sitting around my house, playing Co-op smacking my father with a chain in Road Rash Jailbreak.

  Make no mistake, this is a bad game. But bad in the way that McDonald's is bad: it's cheap, quick, low-quality, when you're done you'll wonder why you ever did it in the first place, but while you're doing it, damn is it good. The game doesn't pretend to be more than it is and basks in its irreverent, arcade quality. If you enjoy POSTAL, Tenacious D, Steel Panther etc, this is a game for you.

  Very fun game to go in with the boys, as many others said, returns that dreamy taste of being playing road rash with a friend on the ps1. The only thing that would make this a far better experience, is the inclusion of a modding scene and a free4all multiplayer, no teams. There were times we talked about how some situations would fit straight up on a setting like Akira, high speed, fighting 3 mooks with a lead pipe, surrounded by tall imposing buildings in a dark city with neon signs and the surreal soundtrack of the film on the background. If the dev reads this, just think about it, I'd buy a dlc/sequel like that for me and all my friends.

  This is the perfect game! The movement is fast, the combat is very fun. I would love to see a sequel or expansions.

  While the game brands itself as a spiritual successor of Road Rash, it departs considerably from Road Rash's original formula, mainly in the way the campaign plays out. You must play as far as you can in one playthrough, to unlock perks that make the next playthrough easier, including starting from a later level. The game has a slightly steep learning curve for casual gamers, seeming almost unfair at first; but once you progress just a little and start unlocking perks, it becomes a really satisfying journey where you're incentivized to keep making progress with your upgraded bike. Recommended, although try to enjoy this game as its own game instead of expecting Road Rash 😃

  It's a downgrade from Road Rash Jailbreak, a game made in 2000, in just about every way -Sound, the knockouts, hit sounds, music, and voice lines are sterile compared to Jailbreak, you also can't talk to your opponents in this game (you could in Jailbreak) -Maps, they're mostly barren wastelands with obvious copy paste structures (Jailbreak had a lot of variety, the desert canyons had an air force base, sand dunes, mesas, oil fields, you never felt like you were on the same stretch of road, even if you were in the same environment) -Map connectivity, in Jailbreak, if you wanted to, at any point, you could turn around or take a wrong turn and explore the rest of the map because the entire game was one large system, it made the world feel like, a world, and not just the same 5 tracks you play over and over again -Melee, extremely dumbed down (Jailbreak had combos and multiple moves for each weapon, even kicking) and the final boss is not balanced for melee only -Driving and guns, both feel like something out of a Unity game that took 15 minutes to make, and they neglected to include the ability to wheelie and use cars as ramps to get massive jumps off, one of the highlights of the original -Racing, in the original, if you just focused on driving well, you would catch up to and outpace most of your opponents, in this game getting kills to get nitro is basically essential -Cops, they're basically just other gang members, they can't bust you, which is what made them so intimidating in Jailbreak, and there's no campaign where you track down and bring in the gangs If you don't have a Playstation or an emulator around, it's okay, it's probably better than nothing, but I think it fails in comparison to its source material

  Experience is permanently lost if you didn't gain enough to be spent during your session - whoever thought of this is very special. Rewarding the player with useless experience points that evaporate if you didn't bank enough is something I've only ever seen here. Even with that time wasting annoyance the game is just an awkward clunky mess, sharp turns make the track warp inorganically - you can tell your bike isn't actually moving, it's a game map revolving around your character masked terribly. Combining all of that the entire gameplay is just hoping the enemy motorbike will stay beside you for longer than 1 second, rinse repeat ad nauseam.
