  Skyland: Heart of the Mountain is a hidden object adventure game with a steampunk-clockwork aesthetic. Set in a fantasy world where people live in bodies of sleeping giants, you must stop an enemy who uses drones to turn people into crystals. The protagonist is a nameless, silent character nicknamed The Adventurer, working with her sister Adrianne and uncle Leo. I'm not a fan of silent HOG protagonists, but her sister talks and explains quite often, which at least provides some character to the game. The story honestly feels... kinda bland. In my opinion, this game doesn't really maximize the potential of the unique setting they have, making it a bit generic. However, I do like the fact that unlike many HOGs, most areas from the 2nd half of the game until very near the end is not blocked off, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and get many collectibles you might have missed. The hidden object scenes are quite difficult as some objects are well-hidden, but luckily the minigames are easier and fun. After finishing the story you'll unlock a short, extra game mode, which acts as an epilogue where you must stop the remaining drones. While it's not really necessary, it provides a bit of story, but still leaves some questions, especially about to the motives of the antagonist. There's also no achievement related to the extra game mode, so feel free to use HO hints or skips here. Skyland: Heart of the Mountain is a pretty decent HOG, and even if it doesn't seem to use the full potential of the setting, it's still an entertaining game, especially if you like steampunk aesthetics. If they were to make a sequel, I hope they utilize the setting better, and maybe change up the environment artstyle to make it more unique.

  This game was pretty good. The story jumps around a lot which can be hard to follow, but generally you get the gist of it. I think my favorite part of the game was the different location styles that the game's setting allowed them to create. But it's also a shame because not a lot of info about the setting is talked about other than a few small plot elements and the opening cut scene. Characters were fine, but could have used more info about them too. The achievements were mostly fine to get and could be done in one playthrough. I found the "finish a hidden object puzzle in 20 seconds" one hard, these puzzles were not easy compared to other games of this type, but if you need to you can practice them after and just play up to the first puzzle. I also had to play though again to get all of the collectibles, which I missed one of on my first playthrough. Although I'd like to say this was my own fault as there is a HUD item that shows the collectible status for each scene, which I love when these games do. There are collectibles in the game, with a HUD indicator, there is a bonus adventure, which I always appreciate, and I encountered no technical issues with the game, which is nice too. Easy recommendation, not the best hidden object game but far, far from the worst, a very good entry.

  After playing the excellent King's Heir: Rise to the Throne by developer Cordelia Games, I was eager to play their other game I had in my library. https://store.steampowered.com/app/834390/Kings_Heir_Rise_to_the_Throne/ Skyland isn't as unique as King's Heir and I have to consider it as a standard hidden object adventure game that doesn't distinguish itself. Some things I enjoyed in King's Heir are still here, like working with other characters and an involved plot where something happens on almost every new screen. This version of the steampunk art style works really well. I think I've only played one other steampunk-themed HOAG called Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink. Skyland's voice acting isn't as good as King's Heir, but I'm happy to report that it's still 100x better than Clockwork Tales! https://store.steampowered.com/app/284830/Clockwork_Tales_Of_Glass_and_Ink/ Skyland is a solid HOAG and easy to recommend, but I'm disappointed that it isn't on the same level as King's Heir.

  <>" I am so tempted to give this game a thumbs down, but I feel if I did, it wouldn't be for the right reasons. For me it would be the right reasons, but for others maybe not so important. The game itself is good; I like steampunk and "old tech", along with an interesting story. The story takes you through a fun world, with airships and creative engineering features. My problem with this game compared to other Artifex Mundi games I have played...and I have played many! THE ACHIEVEMENTS. I was trying very hard to find the collectibles on my first walkthrough, but something was off, and I never got past 20 of them, even after going through the game over again with a guide! I also found all the goats...no achievements there either! Also spending much hassle of finishing a HOP game in 20 seconds. I got it in the end, but I didn't like that one. SOO... Basically. I wanted to be done with this game now, having enjoyed it very much, but now that I am still missing 2 achievements, already going through the game a 2nd time, I'm not very impressed. I actually think I have to delete my profile and do the game over again. Why was it bugged? My thumbs up is for those who don't care about the achievements, and the game itself. Go play it. Have fun, I'll guess...! Edit: Deleting my profile and doing the game over again did the trick for the final achievements. As I did delete my profile, I managed to unlock everything in one go except for the Eagle Eye achievement (which I already had). Might try to do it again, just for perfection! Edit 2: Followed what I have myself written under here, and managed to get the eagle eye achievement again. Do it only in the main story! HOW TO DO EAGLE EYE ACHIEVEMENT: 1.Enter the game 2.Progress until you reach a HOP puzzle.

  (Cloud save = ON normally) 3.Exit the game and let it save. 4.Enter the game completly, also going into the story itself. 5.TURN OFF CLOUD SAVING! 6.Click the sparks indicating HOP puzzle. 7.SCREENSHOT! 8.Open the screenshot in paint (or ctr + v) and circle every item with a circle or whatever you want! For me it was a yellow circle per item. 9.ALT + F4 10.Activate CLOUD SAVE. 11.Enter the game. The HOP puzzle should now be resetted. 12.Deactivate CLOUD SAVE 12.Learn where every item is, but Alt+F4 if you don't make the 20 seconds timer 13.Activate CLOUD SAVE 14.Enter the game. Repeat until you get EAGLE EYE!

  This is a great game. It has a steampunk style to it. Even though the story is intereting it's a bit vague at the very beginning but it unfolds as the game progresses. There are a varity of puzzles and HOs. The graphics are wonderfully done and the voice acting excellent. I can say I was impressed with this game. Artifex Mundi has delivered another game game, which appears will possibly be a series. (The bonus chapter ending hints at this). I really liked the steampunk feel, a nice change from the gloomy, dark hidden object adventures on the market right now. I recommend this game.

  The steam punk theme unfortunately doesn't make this a good HOG. The puzzles are the usual. The story is rather bland. The same goes for the music. Not one of the best titles.

  Way too easy, and too bland. I love Artifex Mundi games, but I refunded this one. Give it a pass.
