The kettlebell is an effective, bell-shaped piece of equipment that will help you build some major muscles. This equipment is your ticket to faster fitness, even for beginners. Well-suited to the heart rate-spiking benefits of HIIT, these weights develop power, endurance, muscle and strength simultaneously for heavyweight results. You don't need anything more than this in combination with your bodyweight to effectively train for strength, build muscle and conditioning. Usually, these workouts feature a high-rep range, meaning that multiple muscles (full-body) are worked at once. If kept at a consistent pace, they can offer similar aerobic benefits to tabata HIIT training.

Exercises like a swing can help increase your heart rate and burn extra fat muscle, but when it comes to building strength throughout your posterior chain – the muscles on the backside of the body – they really come into their own. Plus, the shape and size means they’ll work your muscles differently to barbells and dumbbells. Furthermore, kettlebells lend themselves to explosive movements like swings and cleans, which develop power. You can string exercises together, as in a kettle bell flow, to practice being explosive and strong in all directions—a feature you certainly don’t get with barbells and dumbbells.

Plus, you can use them to get in a full-body cardio burn without your feet ever leaving the ground, so it's also ideal as a low-impact workout.
