Satzbau Deutsch is a fun game for anyone learning German.

The app has two games that aim to improve your language skills. Both games focus on sentences, which helps you practice sentence structure as you read, listen or pronounce the tasks. Your sentence building and comprehension skills will improve.

German language has specific rules when it comes to forming sentences. The basic German sentence order is SVO: subject, verb, object. The verb, which is the main or conjugated part of the sentence, is always the second element. If the subject does not precede the main verb or the conjugated part, it must immediately follow it. Sentence structure must respect the order of time, manner, and place.

To form a grammatically correct sentence, you need to practice. That's why you need this app - to practice a large number of sentences with real examples.

The sentences are chosen for you randomly. Some sentences are easier, some are harder. Some tasks have multiple correct answers, so you may have to try them a few times before you find the right one. There is a small element of luck, as in any game.

We use a selected collection of nearly 90,000 sentences from everyday language.

App is using AI to support error checking in sentences and explaining grammar. AI can have access to your sentences and language preferences and no other data. You can choose to completely exclude use of AI in App settings.
