Man oh man, finally a great fighting game. This game just hit a game 7, 2 out, walk off grand slam. The game has beautiful graphics, very engaging gameplay, great characters, they all have their own special combos, moves and perks. You can fight 20 times, and the match will always feel different. Just a few maps, but I am sure we will have a lot more in the future. Supposedly this game is an open beta, and Warner Bros just did everything right from the get go. Nickelodeon All Star Brawl failed miserably, even on release day due to the total opposite of this game. Once I saw this game I was a bit scared to blow my money, but I saw a few Youtube videos and I was sold. Please Warner Bros dont screw this up. We have Brawlhalla, but finally we have something different/fresh. I like Brawlhalla, but it got stale way to quick for me. If I have something negative to say, is that this game has microtransaction written all over it. I do not mind spending money on things worth buying, but please dont be like "10 dollars if you want this Batman skin" "here look at this, 20 dollars, for 10 different bikinis skin for Velma you pervert" I am enjoying this game so far, and being an open beta, im willing to give it a chance and watch it grow. I wish nothing but the best for this game and the player base. pros - voice overs (even spanish voice over thats a 10/10 for me already) - very engaging gameplay - great roster so far cant wait to see more - very fun maps - awesome graphics - love the combos and special moves of each character cons - you have to make an account on WB in order to play (this is annoying. If there is no launcher, we get the good old sign here in order to play) devs always find a way to annoy their players *sigh* fine I signed up let me play! - get ready for microtransactions Like I said, I do not mind paying for things worth buying, but this game has severe micro transaction written all over it. Prove me wrong. *screw you Harley Quinn you can take your bombs and shove it. People online be spamming bombs like there is no tomorrow* In conclusion, I recommend this game 100% if you're looking for a fun engaging fighting game look no further. Be open minded about it, and try this game out. Finally an online game I consider myself good at.

I have been waiting for this game since December 2021 when it was first leaked. It became my most anticipated game. Finally, we are here and I can safely say that the wait was really, really worth it. The game is outright amazing. You can see and feel the effort and time Player First Games, the developers of the game put in. Not to mention their communication with the community, especially Tony's communication. This game is a fresh breath of air for me. I was not really into platform fighter games until Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl came out. NASB started an itch of platform fighter games for me since let's say, it wasn't that great because of budget issues. That itch was finally scratched when Multiversus came out. Seeing my childhood characters crafted beautifully is really awesome to see, from their moveset, animations and voice lines... The fantasy of Finn grouping up with Shaggy to defeat Harley Quinn and Tom and Jerry is unreal. The voicelines that they say to each other or the opposing group really enchances this fantasy as well. The lines that they wrote are great and the voice actors did a really good job. The roster will only grow bigger and bigger from this point on. Lebron James, Rick and Morty is already announced, already love that Rick and Morty will arrive to the game. I cannot wait for the future of the roster. There are soooo many characters that they can bring in, just thinking about it makes me really excited for the future of the roster. The soundtrack is really great too, I especially like the Adventure Time remix and Steven Universe orchestra ones. Main Menu and Grouping Up Menu is also great to a point where it already feels nostalgic. There is also a perk system which enchances the depth of the game. You can get different perks according to your playstyle and character. For example you can choose projectile based perks for Tom and Jerry or movement based perks for Finn etc. The perks are not hard to unlock but it takes some matches to fully get them. They can also stack if you are playing 2v2 and your other group members selects the same perks as yours, so the perk you choose becomes more powerful and benefits the group. I think this is a great addition to the game. The game being f2p of course means In-App Purchases. The cosmetics in the game are the really quality stuff. I especially love the Ringout animations that they did, they are awesome. The skins are awesome too with some of them being fully voiced (different than the default voice) according to the skin like Uncle Shagworthy and Cake. Fiona would be a great addition to Finn as well since we got Cake already for Jake. The battle pass of the game is currently for pre-season so it's 15 tiers and it costs 300 glemium which is roughly 3 dollars. The pass doesn't give glemium in order to buy the next pass if you can complete it but the pass itself has really good cosmetics from Skins (Uncle Shagworthy and Cake which are fulyl voiced like I mentioned previously) ringout animations, badges, banners, toasts, xp boosts (gives a huge xp boost for characters), taunts/emotes, stickers and gold (There is no gold in the premium track so that you cannot buy gold in any way, it is in the free track) There is a negative discussion on the prices of these said cosmetics and I kind of agree. I know if WB Games wasn't the publisher and setting the monetization, Player First Games would have already set the monetization to be better than the current one. So, I can safely say that this game is amazing, it's future is really bright and I cannot wait for it. You can try the game without a doubt if you like Platform Fighters, you most likely won't regret it :)

Finally, a solid, addictive, free to play platform fighter

tldr; I heavily recommend this to anyone who loves platform fighters OR wants a game to play with a friend. Easy to pickup, hard to master with an inspired, faithful to source material cast (that keeps expanding!). A must play. To start things off the character design and roster of this game is already amazing and I'm excited to see where they go from here. Each character seems to have been designed with their identity in mind first, play patterns and role (tank, mage, etc.) second. This leads to a very authentic experience with each character that feels true to source material. Warner Brothers holds such a vast collection of IPs (Lebron James, Adventure Time, Rick & Morty, DC Comics, Game of Thrones, Lord of The Rings) that Multiversus is shaping up to be one of the best crossover games of all time. While the game does offer 1v1 the primary mode is 2v2 teams. This is one of the best> games right now to hop on with a friend a go crush some other teams. It's easy to pickup and have fun while giving the players enough room for some serious skill expression and coordination. You are able to try out and practice with all of the characters in the lab for free. The economy is fair and there seems to be a good enough stream of F2P currency for you to acquire the characters you want at a reasonable rate (a few hours per character+ daily missions). At the time of writing you get Jake, Wonder Woman, Shaggy, and Harlequin for free. I believe the game is going to use a rotation of free characters, similar to League of Legends. I'm sure newer characters will cost a premium, while older ones will get discounts. The shop and one other mystery tab are not available yet in the beta, This will likely be included in the full release with a timed shop similar to Fortnite. However the game still feels very well done and fleshed out. will Multiversus includes a battle pass, but the progression seems tightly tied to the seasonal and daily challenges vs just grinding out games. This isn't intrinsically a bad thing but players who play past completing the daily challenges might find their rewards lackluster. One of the real highlights of Multiversus is the perk system. You're given a chance to swap perks (3 minor, 1 major) while you see what the enemy pick is. Competitive players will adjust their perks based on the enemy teams picks. This also lets you tailor the perks to a specific play pattern or team makeup. For example Batman and Harlequin are both primarily vertical characters (most of their moves either launch up or down) so that allows them to both take perks that benefit jump height, jump speed, and vertical launch damage. This is an added level of depth over Smash which really sets Multiversus apart. There are a few issues and potential issues to look out for. At the time of writing Taz is completely broken. The tornado move beats everything but projectile and disconnected (sword) attacks. It's a very frustrating thing to play against since the recovery is minimal and by the time you're out of it he's spinning again. There is supposedly a fix on the way for this, so that's a good sign that the developers are listening to feedback and willing to balance the game (hopefully) in a transparent manner unlike Nintendo. Balancing characters for a 2v2 format seems difficult given all the different synergies and I'm sure as more people play the game there will be dominant pairings and frustrating play patterns for the majority of the player base. It will be up to the developers to be on top of this and continually balance the game. If that happens I can see Multiversus having a very long lifespan. The potential issue to look out for is the F2P currency gain rate slowing so dramatically you're forced to buy the premium currency, That doesn't seem to be the case yet but it's something to look out for. As a frame of reference the average character costs about $7 to unlock with premium currency and 2000-3000 gold (f2p currency. If you buy the founders pack you get an amount of character unlock tickets dependent on the level of founders pack purchased ($40, $60, $100). There is a 3rd currency called Toast which you can buy to give a thumbs up or kudos to opponents or teammates after matches and reward them a small amount (20-30) gold. Overall the game is excellent. I can't give it a true 5/5 without seeing how much developer support goes into this game after launch as that is what will make or break it. 4/5-4.5/5 at the time of writing, but with adequate support and content release it becomes an easy 5/5.

PLEASE don't tell the devs how good Garnet is.. This is easily the best platform fighter on Steam. It feels amazing to play, the netcode had some hiccups for the first few days but has quickly become the best netcode I've ever experienced in a platform fighter, the roster is crazy and makes me think that Warner Bros.' reach is limitless, and the gameplay itself is phenomenal and unique from other platform fighters thanks to "perks", and the emphasis on team play (2v2): All perks are enhanced when your teammate picks the same one, and a lot of characters have special moves that act differently in 2v2s so you can protect, buff, and/or save your allies from ringouts depending on your character. There's honestly a lot to it and I love it. 2v2s feel amazing. The only issue with this game is monetization, but that's pretty debatable because it's a free to play game and it's super high-quality in terms of gameplay, graphics, voice acting, etc. Characters can be bought with "gleamium" (real money), or bought with the in-game currency "gold". It's not too hard to grind for gold if you can put the time in, and you also get a large boost if you play in a party. Other than characters, the game has tons of cosmetics and you can't really buy anything with gold except for a classic Iron Giant skin. So costumes, KO animations, cool stuff like that is all locked behind a paywall and they usually aren't cheap. So that can be a bit annoying. There's a battle pass system however (free and paid), so even if you play this game for free and never spend any money on it, you can still easily obtain lots of specific cosmetics just from playing. If you don't want to pay into premium battle passes I have good news for you: the devs confirmed in the FAQs on the WB site that they will be adding battle pass items to the shop eventually, so that sort of relieves the pressure and fear of missing out for people who don't wanna spend the money/time on that. This game is published by Warner Bros Games (you know, the people who made Mortal Kombat a good game series again) so personally I have a tremendous amount of faith in this game. It's free to play, it's cross-platform/has crossplay which is something I wish for all of my fighting games to have, and it has rollback! If you like platform fighters, you gotta try it out!

For a free game, it's pretty solid. Smash-like with good netcode for PC is something that has been sorely lacking, and if nothing else it's interesting to see what all characters can be introduced. People complain that certain characters are OP, but that's the scrub mantra wherever you go. With this amount of polish on a free game, it's worth a try if you enjoy smash, brawhalla, or MP party games. It's currently not as satisfying of a 1v1 game as Smash, but the emphasis on 2v2 in Multiversus could be an interesting concept.

God's work. I'm a Smash player and have been since birth. This game draws inspiration from Smash but is far from a Smash clone. Combo routes are deep you just need to understand the movement and fast-falling trust me on that. Don't play it like Smash, go into it like a new game and adjust your settings to get a good feel. Pro tip from me, go watch Smash University on Youtube and learn how to play this game right. After you see it you'll see this games potential and how great it is. Study tournaments like on VGBC on Twitch. And most importantly, fight me I'm a Batman main. That is all

There are a lot of things that let me down in the game and made me stop. A week after the game was open for download for everyone I downloaded it and started playing with some friends, everyone was very hyped about the game, we played ALL day non-stop. The same day I started playing, I already bought the most expensive founder pack (which claimed to be there for a limited time) and continued at this pace of playing almost all day for a week or two, adding up to 120 hours of gameplay at the end. But what started to discourage me in the game was, first thing: repetitive maps and classes clearly too OP's. Some character combos are clearly broken, and it's something that I as a player understand is very difficult to balance (maybe impossible). Smash games have this constant problem, developing a game like Multiversus is asking to work FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, because with each new character to be released, ALL the others will be affected and their gameplay, skills, combos, timings will have to be readjusted, and that is at least hell for those who are developing. So, the expected happens, the characters are completely broken, and the randomness of the character selection doesn't help this to work well, as we can fall against a team with two robots and I'm, I don't know, bugsbunny. Can you win? Maybe. Do I need skill for this? No, just luck. And this lucky is discouraging, because no matter how much you know how to play, you are at the mercy of losing to someone who doesn't even know how to play but uses a stronger character. Not only that, but the INEXISTENCE of a ranked mode makes the game completely meaningless, as you click to play and you can fall against both a person who has just created the account, and someone who has already played 250 games on closed beta (happened to me), and obviously you can't have fun playing against someone extremely stronger than you, obviously. So one of the solutions for the game is to CREATE THE RANKED, it doesn't make sense that this doesn't exist until now! Another thing that bothers me is the lack of variety, both in characters and maps. Obviously this is very difficult to build for a game like this, given what I mentioned above of having to "rebalance" the game with each addition, but at least the maps should have several. But how to make so many maps if we don't have ideas? OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY! Do some kind of integration with the steam workshop, give prizes to winning maps, or something similar, just like CS:GO has its workshop tab for you to make skins, use this feature to add multiple maps (SpeedRunners also do something similar). And this can also serve the characters themselves, ideas are what the community will not lack. One more thing that bothered me deeply, and I say that not as a player but as a consumer, is the founding package not having the exclusivity it promised. In the early days of the game, a HUGE alert would appear on the screen that the founder packs would be exclusive and LIMITED time, giving the idea that at any moment it would leave the store. Marketing ploy? Maybe, but for the level of engagement that the game was, I wouldn't imagine that they would use a trick as dirty as this, mainly because it's R$ 299,99 (brazilian currency) and the only real exclusivity is a yellow name ːsteamfacepalmː. Well, in addition to the price absurdity and the little advantage of buying a package like this, I bought it with the idea of "encouraging development"(my worst mistake) after all the package would be for a short time, as announced, and only those who helped in the beginning would have access to the exclusives that he provided. Congratulations, it just so happens that the package is in store until today (29/09/22 almost 2 full months after I bought the "limited time package" (31/07/22), and that didn't make me just angry because I was wronged as the package provides "3 battle passes" and the 15-category beta pass was counted as a pass, that's it, I paid for a REDUCED pass! For me, there's nothing I can do about all that I've said now, so I just feel wronged for having paid R$300 for something that SHOULD be exclusive. Finally, I'm also unhappy with how difficult it is to get XP in the battle pass. If you have a merely healthy life and don't play 8 hours a day, you won't complete the pass. But I understand that this is the new way to "trapping players in the game", thank you Epic Games for that. I really like the game, but even though I really enjoyed playing it I decided to stop , because all this injustice and this feeling of "incomplete product" that the game brings, it's unfair to me that I paid all this amount to encourage this to have decent scope to be called a game.

So no, I do not recommend this game yet.
