FOR the first time ever, the multi-player online battle arena mobile game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), will have its own world championship, titled MLBB World Championship 2019.

Better known as M1, the tournament will be the ultimate proving ground for all MLBB competitors from around the world to represent their nation and be crowned the world champion in MLBB.

The M1 main event will take place on Nov 15 – 17, 2019 at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the Group Stage taking place on Nov 11 – 14, 2019.

The world championship will feature the top 16 professional MLBB teams from 14 nations to battle it out for the lion’s share of the US$250,000 (RM1.05 million) total prize pool.

The 16 teams will consist of eight direct-invited teams and eight qualified teams: -

Cherry Xia as vice president at Shanghai Moonton Technology said, “We are so excited to be hosting the very first World Championship tournament for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. It has always been our aim to elevate the game to greater heights and so the commemoration of MLBB World Championship 2019 (M1) is definitely a proud achievement for us.

“We hope that M1 will serve as the ultimate goal for MLBB players to propel them to hone their skills and talents. With the competitiveness involving nations around the world, we also hope to provide the MLBB fans with world-class viewing experience.”

MLBB is developed and published by Shanghai Moonton Technology. On board as M1 official sponsors are U Mobile and Youtube. The Malaysian Telco, U Mobile, has been very active in the local e-sports scene over the years and their involvement is exciting as e-sports marches towards becoming more mainstream. With Youtube as the official livestream partner, M1 matches can be watched exclusively on Youtube.
