  Own this on my switch and just bought this on steam so i can play with my arcades stick. If you are looking for a deep, competitive, fighting game, this isnt for you. You will be disappointed. If you are looking for a fun fighting game that you can fuck around with, and play with your friends while drunk, then i recommend this game. This isnt a game you will play and compete in EVO. This isnt a game you will want to brag about and say "yeah, im really good at SNK Heroines" to show off to other people. On the switch, this is a game you take to the airport and play with a friend or yourself while waiting to board the plane or waiting to land. On PS4 or Steam, this is a game you play with your friend for good fun and laughs. This game isnt as deep as a ocean like Tekken or SF, but isnt as shallow as people say it is. There is some skills in this game. If you play against a good player, they will easily beat you in this game. -There is a dedicated button to block. -You can still fight against DLC characters in your game even if you dont buy the DLC, such as story mode. -There is 5 record slots in training and input display. -This game does have button configuration. Before you go into character select, you will end up on controller selcet. From there you can change your button layout. -On Arcade stick, to Grab, press X and A, to tag between characters, press Y and A

  I feel like too many people don't "get" this game and review it down as "too simple". This isn't KOF, if you want to play KOF, go play it, it's good too. This is more of a fun spin-off on the franchise, and deceptively over-simplified. In fact, if you've played Capcom's Gem Fighter, it's like that... This game is more about meter management and position/movement than footsies or yomi, to the point you cannot win a match without using a super. Combos are extremely weak and small unless you use meter. Your secondary character builds meter really fast in the background. So, this leads to a dynamic of having a point attacker go pretty hard with their meter, then call in your support with a full meter to do combos into supers. Also, it has some combo complexity... most BNBs have IAD attacks you jump cancel into, wall juggles, and other high level stuff to get down in training. The footsie game feels more anime fighter, lots of air dashing. I think once you get over it not being KOF, and dig in, there's a lot of fun to be had. As for the presentation, it's wonderful. I might be bias as a female, but everything is "soo pretty". It's like the only way I can describe it. Love the characters, love the costumes, the music, the stages, the voices, the GUI, the hit spark effects, it's absolutely beautiful. Granted, if you ain't into hyper jpop cutesy stuff, probably not gonna do it for you. Lastly, though console focused, this is an arcade game through-and-through. You play a ladder of people, fight an SNK boss, get credits with cute pictures, the end, here's some gallery unlocks. Or you have training room or versus. It's not reinventing the wheel. Again, if you're looking for Injustice graphic novel bad acting movie filler with Elder Scrolls content and character progression, no. Arcade, training, versus. Get it on sale, don't assume it's KOF, enjoy it.

  [b]Is this like KOF? [/b] No. [b]Is it like Street Fighter? [/b] Nope. [b]Okay, is it at least DOA???[/b] Well, if you're asking if SNK girls in sexy outfits will be pummeling each other, then sure. But this isn't your normal fighting game. Some people will either love or hate it. I own it on the Nintendo [b]SWITCH[/b] and have been playing SNK Heroines since it came out. My girlfriend and I absolutely [b]LOVE[/b] this game. We play pretty much all the current top fighters out there, but this one is definitely a unique, couch co-op blast. I really want to stress that if you are looking for a tactical fighter like Tekken, look elsewhere. This one is all about absurdity. It's the kind of game you play with your honey or your buddies where losing can be pretty hilarious and just as fun as winning. It all comes down to the special moves, timing and luck. SO many times I thought I was going to win a match when right at the last second I get totally gypped. [i]AHHHH! YOU BASTARD!![/i] I scream while laughing with my gal as she's cracking up and gleefully celebrating her victory. Gotta love SNK bringing this campy gem to PC. Going from the SWITCH to the PC version is exciting! Better graphics, smooth frames and holy smokes, the loading time compared to Switch is nonexistent (*[i]installed on a fast SSD[/i]). Lots of things to unlock like different voices, costumes and accessories. The extra characters are awesome and worth the money. I'm a huge SNK fan, have been for a long time so this review might be biased. My girlfriend isn't though and she's fallen in love with this game. Her main is Leona. She now wants to cosplay as Leona. WTF? Geeze, I think I've created a monster! Anyway. If you're on the fence, wait till it's half price. If you have Big Picture + HDTV ready and some Xbox One controllers, I say check it out.   It's a simplified and comical spinoff from the original, don't expect the same complexity or depth as Tekken. It can probably be played 1 handed for multitasking purposes too.
