  As much as I enjoyed the concept of the game, I'm so sad to write that I did not enjoy this game as much as the first one. After playing Simulacra, I immediately bought this one, alas it didn't meet my expectations. The story about social media influencers. You'll play as either a detective or a journalist who'll receive a dead influencer phone and dig into it trying to find any evidance to solve the mystery about her death. Her case was closed, but Detective Murilo suspects that something is amiss and thus he hires you for his job. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2000125732 There are three main characters who you'll have to talk to and learn more about Maya. I loved the quality of the videos, a huge improvement from the first game, but the characters - sadly- are not likable at all. I didn't feel involved and didn't care about any of them, even the dead girl, her personality didn't make me sympathize with her death at all. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1998459572 They added some music tracks and hinting system which is great in case you are stuck trying to contact someone or finding a piece of evidence that'll open different dialogue for you. I liked that they have many ways to end this investigation, a whole tree will open up for you. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2002850575 I didn't find this game scary and there are only a few jumpscares which you can predict, especially the phone calls while you are busy reading text messages. Pros: +Jumpscares. +Around 10 hours of gameplay (single playthrough). +Multiple endings. +Hinting system +Steam achievements. Cons: -The characters are real people with mediocre acting. -Not a very convincing story. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first game. I recommend Simulacra's first game over this one.   Great puzzles! The acting is a little uncomfortable to watch but that's because the characters themselves are cringey.

  What starts as a simple "found phone"-like murder case quickly gets more and more obscure. The more clues you collect via the phone of Maya, the victim, the more it starts acting hella strange. Ads on social media keep on interacting with you, the phone glitches out and appears to be possessed by Maya, you're discovering creepy video evidence of the night she died and dive into the shallow, superficial world that is "Kimera" and "Jabbr", apps that mirror Instagram and Twitter. (There even is a "tea spill" account and people are getting called out for promoting juice cleanses. LOL.) Would certain people literally kill someone in exchange for more likes and less shit storms? And who is behind the shady engagement boosting service that everyone and their dog seems to use? I won't spoiler the ending (more like: the endings... each of them a total mindf*ck), let me just say - I absolutely recommend playing this. I guess it'll be even more immersive when played on an actual phone.

  The first one was amazing. The second.... not so much. The characters are not very relate-able, the comic relief of the cop guy felt very forced, and even the jump scares were really boring, and that's the whole point of this game. I definitely appreciate the dev's effort, they clearly have a passion for their trade. But it feels to me like just that.... a trade. Not so much an art. Just how I feel about it, I'm glad others enjoyed it more than I did.

  A good sequel to the first Simulacra game. The concept is still pretty well exploited. Maybe slightly less scary than the first one tho.

  Too bad Steam has no "Depends on" or "Indecisive" option for these Recommendations. I really liked the first game, so this second part was an instant buy. I also played through this game in one sitting through last night. Means it is good, right? Answer: Not really. The commentary on the social media / influencer scene is really good, as it more or less represents all the typical parts of people and behaving you find in this realm. So that is really enjoyable. But what kills it for me is the gameplay. It too narrow. The game gives you "access" to a police tool, but there is nearly no "diggin" around. I really hoped for some kind of evidence / information collection like in Orwell, but nothing. This stands way more out, as you have two "ways" to play it, as a reporter or a detective. In the reporter role I could live with less police work, but as there is no different way of information getting as a detective it really makes the game bad in way of gameplay. Maybe the devs will change this or take this critic for a next game. But in this state, the game is no recommendation.
