POP The Two Thrones is a great game but in many ways inferior to Warrior Within. T2T continues the story where Warrior Within left and the story was interesting to say the least. The main highlights of the game includes Epic boss fights, dark prince, and a new stealth system. Game feels less tedious than previous entries and improves the combat and parkour (mostly). Despite this, this game felt inferior to Warrior Within both technically and by raw content. WW had a great dark world, wonderful secrets, non linear design, interesting enemies and all. But T2T looks and feels ripped whitewashed version of it (literally decreased contrast to 0.7 improved visuals a lot!). They added 1080p widescreen support by default but you still need to turn on V-sync/cap FPS to 60. They even censored the game. 80% of the game you use a small dagger as your primary weapon and you can't go back in map. Then game has a bright yellowish theme and you can imagine how the game would be. Now I know why the size of this game is less than half of Warrior Within! XD But anyways I had fun, its still a good game. Thumps Up.

I’m rating it negatively because the pc version is borderline unplayable, constant glitches poor performance and crashing means you’re better off emulating a console version, especially if you’re a controller player As for the game itself, it’s an alright ending to the trilogy, tho it’s definitely the worst of the 3. The dark prince sections were the highlight, really liked the combat there. Story okay tho it mostly rehashes SoT. Worth playing if you like the others

This was a huge favorite of mine back when it was originally released, so in spite of my reservations about haphazard ports, I was happy when this unadulterated version was released on Steam. As far as I could tell, it seems to be a pretty direct copy of the original. The graphics have been touched up a bit, but the gameplay, content, menus, and music all remain the same as they were a decade ago. Steam has this tagged as “partial controller support”, but aside from a few things on the menu, the whole game is controller friendly. How does the actual gaming experience hold up, though? The graphics are outdated, Ubisoft has moved on to bigger and bolder things with the Assassin’s Creed series, and many avid fans of our favorite wall-running protagonist would tell you to just stick with 2003’s seminal Sands of Time if you want the true POP experience. So what makes Two Thrones worth playing a decade later? There are a number of less important factors I could point to. The music is crisp, regionally appropriate (thank God), and diverse. The voice acting harkens back to the more subtle days of Sands of Time, and the schizophrenic conversations between the Prince and his dark alter-ego are funny, illuminating, and cleverly deployed in support of the game’s overall narrative. The boss battles are varied, make clever use of the game’s mechanics, and, particularly in the case of the final two fights, are truly epic in a way that was often missing in previous series installments. The game is linear, but within that linear construct, it offers you multiple ways to accomplish your objectives. And that brings us to the true strength of this game: Two words: visceral satisfaction. In other words, the quick-kill system. It sounds odd to say that a repetitive system of QTEs positively defines a game, but it isn’t the physical act of button-pressing that makes this mechanism tick; it’s how you get there. In Two Thrones, there are basically three options for combat. You can avoid large parts of it by just platforming past enemies and keeping your eyes on the prize. You can cover yourself in the blood and sands of your enemies by flinging yourself headfirst into combat, where you can breakdance, roll, and slash your way to gruesome victory by means of the same combat system from Warrior Within. The final option, though, is the most satisfying, and the most clever from a game design standpoint. In Sands of Time, platforming and combat were kept largely segregated, and combat was just something you reluctantly waded through so you could get back to traversing the gorgeous landscapes. In Warrior Within, you were still frequently forced into prolonged moments of repetitive hacking, albeit with a mechanically improved combat system. In Two Thrones, however, platforming and combat are finally integrated, and dear lord are they integrated effectively. Instead of just serving as the means to getting from point A to point B, platforming is now also deployed as a way to get the jump on your foes. Instead of waltzing in daggers drawn, you can now climb above, around, and past your enemies in order to sneak up behind them, hear some satisfying middle eastern beats, and quickly dispose of them with some brutally efficient killing strokes. It’s difficult to overstate how satisfying this mechanic is. You will seldom feel like more of a badass than when you’ve executed a series of precise quick-kills to silently eliminate a group of enemies. I found myself replaying parts of the game just to determine how best to utilize the environment to surprise my unsuspecting sand monster friends. That thrill, that desire to maximize the glorious synthesis between your dagger strokes and your gravity-defying stunts, is what drives this game, as well as what keeps you coming back.

Good old prince of persia. [*]It has widescreen support on its own (no hacking and whatnot). [*]Supports Xbox 360 controller. [*]Runs great on Win 10 with no crashes or whatever. In short "totally worth it".

First things first, lets get somethings cleared. I am writing this reviewing my purchase and not the game. After all that's why you are here, right? To know whether its okay to spend some money on a decade and a half old game and not have buyer's remorse. If you wanted a review of how the game is.. or felt to the gamers.. you'd be on Gamespot or IGN. So anyway, that out of the question, ignore the 8 hrs. I have probably played the game for more than 15 hours on steam and 800 hours in the past 13 years. These are the 8 hours when my steam was online. Now onward to the game - CONS: 1. Many graphics options are broken. Especially anti-aliasing . It causes the bright white flashes on the screen which many reviewers are mentioning here. Had to turn it off and set texture filtering to bilinear . (This is not a modern systems problem, I remember having this problem on my Vista , 7 , 8.1 and now 10) 2. On many modern systems, the game just won’t launch. Again , compatibility mode and tweaking necessary. 3. The camera stutters occasionaly, isn't as smooth as I remember it to be. 4. High framerate is an absolute NO-NO. Anything above 60 fps with break your game and at one point in the game you have to set it to 30 fps or you'll get stuck. ( Won't spoil it here ) 5. No Mods. Yeah, you heard that right, the community is dead. No bugfixes or graphical enhancements. Pure vanilla is your only option. 6. The game, along with thousands during that era, is made for joystick/gamepad. If you play K+M, you WILL get frustrated at spots where camera switches to landmark mode and you can only use keyboard to 'aim' your prince. 7. MOST IMPORTANT - STEAM OVERLAY DOESN'T WORK IN THIS GAME. PROS: 1. Graphics although old, are not ugly and unpleasant to look at. At points the game still looks beautiful and screenshot worthy (with PrtScr ofcourse, since you know.. overlay won't work) 2. Story and narration are also good. If you don't compare it to modern games which were inspired by and built upon these old games, the game never gets 'boring or dull'. Voice acting is also good enough. Dark prince is <3 3. No DRM. No u-play(thank god). The game launches and plays fine without steam open for me. So final verdict? if you have never played it, buy it on 66% off (maximum it goes) and call it a day. If you are a veteran like me and wanted to have a modern experience/ support the devs, don't buy it. I thought I would support the devs but I realized they have long gone. No updates to the game, no bugfixes. Ubisoft has put it on the market because they can rip off vets like us. The experience is actually worse than it was a decade ago and actually kinda ruined the nostalgia for me.
