  I am aware of the criticism that this DLC only adds content to the game, that already should have been there. I agree. Since it is the only way to get the content into the game however, I am reviewing the DLC itself and not the practice of DLC in general. [h1]QUICKRATING[/h1] [b]GAMEPLAY 5/5[/b] The possibilities with the weapon mods are endless. You can adapt almost every weapon to your playstyle. [b]MUSIC & SOUND 4/5[/b] Sound design is great. [b]VISUALS 4/5[/b] The weapon mods are convincing and good looking. [h1]ADDITIONAL INFO[/h1] Whatever you may desire, this DLC most certainly features it. From sights to microlasers it's all there. [b]Recommended for new heisters?[/b] Yes, a must buy. You might be overwhelmed by the possible amounts of weapon layouts and might not notice a difference in weapon behavior, because you are not as used to them as a more experienced player, but you will after time.

  [b]Gage Mod Courier ★★★★★[/b] NOTE: This DLC is included in both [url=http://store.steampowered.com/sub/54408/]PAYDAY 2: GOTY Edition[/url] and [url=http://store.steampowered.com/sub/54409/]Gage Weapon Pack Bundle[/url] Probably the first DLC you will want to get - even now (October 2016). It adds 5 different packages which spawn in specific locations on all maps. You collect the packages while waiting for the drill or once you pass by a package along the road. As long as one guy from the group picks up the package - it will be added to all who own the DLC. Once you've collected a few, you head over to Crime_net and "turn them in". If you manage to complete a series you get a buttload of weapon mods (there's 28 in total): These mods can be equiped on your guns and will have most weapons reach a whole new level in terms of damage, accuracy, stability, magazine size - and so forth. Not only is it useful - but it is also just about the only thing you can do to improve yourself while waiting - there's a lot of waiting going on in Payday 2.. Whether this is a stroke of genius - or simply bad game design, I don't know. But if you enjoy Payday 2, you will want this DLC. EDIT (2016): Words.

  Gage mod courier is kinda paid alternative to card drop system - instead of playing heists and then praying for attachment you really want, you simply collect gage courier packages throughout levels and after you fulfill certain package type (five of them), you'll get some sweet modes for you to use. I must say.. these mods are mostly better than already in-game ones. Now you can have AK with 60 rounds magazine, better damage, new optics etc. I'd say it's very useful DLC which boosts your weapon arsenal like nothing before. If you are taking this game seriously, you should have it already, otherwise go buy it if you can. ;)

  Compared to every single "DLC" that this game has out there so far as of the writing of this review, it is still the best one out there in terms of usefulness of the items in said pack that are within the game, however again I preface this by saying that it is STILL not worth $5. Truth be told I feel even to this day that these should have been in the base game on release or added after for free (given at how barren the game was and still IS). At least you won't have to card farm (people who've played Payday 2 will understand) but you will still have to farm, because Overkill does not understand why people farm because they are too busy counting money. Buy this when there is a sale, please do not pay full price for this or ANY of the "DLC" packs for this game they are never worth it.

  [b]Keep your eyes peeled[/b] There are times when a DLC comes out and instantly becomes everyone's favorite. [i]Gage Mod Courier[/i] is one of those. [b]Mods[/b] While it adds no new weapons, masks or what not, this content pack gives you the ability to pick up courier packages sent by Gage that, if enough are accumulated, are exchanged for weapon mods. These packages are usually hidden in shady and dark corners of most heists, which makes it similar to easter egg hunting, albeit with satisfying rewards. There are five types of packages to be found: Green Mantis, Yellow Bull, Red Spider, Blue Eagle and Purple Snake. The rewards are given for collecting 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 packages of each type respectively. [b]Green Mantis[/b] offers these mods: -AK Slavic Dragon Barrel for AK and AK 7.62. It offers a boost to damage and stability at the cost of accuracy. A good mod to have, but it is overshadowed by the Modern Barrel from [i]The Butcher's AK/CAR Mod Pack[/i]; -Compact Holosight. A compact version of the holographic sight. -Speculator Sight. A clean and open sight worth installing on your gun. -Competitor's Compensator. A great barrel extension that improves your gun's overall performance significantly at the expense of 1 concealment. -AK Rubber Grip. Increases concealment and stability with no drawbacks. An ideal attachment for stealth or dodge loadouts. [b]Yellow Bull[/b] provides these mods: -Wide Stock. Increases stability and concealment at no extra cost and can be accepted by CAR family of firearms. An excellent choice for stealth builds. -Asepsis Supressor. A supressor for pistols that does not reduce damage when installed, at the cost of hefty penalties on concealment and accuracy. -Trigonom Sight. A desert-tan sight that makes for a good alternative to other sights of similar range. -Funnel of Fun Nozzle. Increases damage and threat drastically at the expense of accuracy and concealment. -AK Plastic Grip. Increases accuracy at the expense of concealment. [b]Red Spider[/b] provides the following mods: -Battleproven Handguard. A handguard for AK rifles that increases accuracy and concealment. Like the Slavic Dragon barrel, it has become obsolete with the release of [i]Butcher's AK/CAR Mod Pack[/i]. -Gazelle Rail. A handguard for CAR rifles that increases damage and stability at the cost of accuracy and concealment. -Compact Laser Module. A laser designation unit that does not alter statistics in any way. A must-have for dodge- or stealth-oriented weapons. -War-Torn Stock. An alteration of the Wide Stock, increases accuracy and decreases concealment and stability. -Tactical Compensator. A compensator that increases damage and accuracy while reducing stability and concealment. -AK Wood Grip. Increases stability at the expense of 1 concealment. [b]Blue Eagle[/b] provides these mods: -Deagle Scope Mount. Allows you to put most conventional scopes on your Deagle. -AK Quadstacked Mag. Doubles the mag size of your AK rifle and turns it into a makeshift LMG. -Military Laser Module. A module that combines a laser sight and a flashlight. Gets outclassed by the LED Combo from the free [i]Butcher Mod Pack 2[/i]. -Solar Sight. An open scope that provides medium zoom. -Flash Hider. A barrel extension for pistols that increases damage and stability with an accuracy penalty. -Combat Sight. A large medium-range sight. [b]Purple Snake[/b] provides these mods: -Bronco Scope Mount. Allows you to put most of the conventional scopes on your Bronco revolver. -Competition Foregrip. Increases damage, accuracy and concealment with a hefty stability penalty. -Lightweight Rail. A foregrip for AK rifles that increases accuracy and stability at the cost of concealment. -CAR Quadstacked Mag. Doubles the mag size of your CAR rifle and turns it into a makeshift LMG. -Pistol Red Dot Sight. Acts as a normal short-range sight that can be installed on most pistols. -King's Crown Compensator. A barrel extension for shotguns that boosts damage, accuracy and threat at the cost of concealment. All these mods are free to install once acquired. [b]Conclusion[/b] This is definitely a must-have DLC, for it imrpoves the handling of virtually all guns in the game.

  Compared to other weapon DLCs, this is the biggest there is, it effects nearly every single weapon in Payday 2, DLC and non DLC weapons get a boost with this pack. Next to the hotline dlc, this has to be my 2nd favorite pack just because how big and how useful it is.

  Another mod review, Gage Mod Courier lets you gather packages to get more things for your guns. This fixes the problem of not having things like a scope, laser or silencer for your guns, a problem that is only an issue thanks to the way gun mods work. It is essentially selling you the solution to a problem that they could have easily solved otherwise, but decided to ask money for. And you need to work for it too. You paid for these things, but you won't actually have the mods until you jump through enough hoops to get them. Essentially, it's a paid fix for a problem they could have prevented in the first place, that also makes you have to spend time on getting your solution. Luckily, since side jobs are a thing now you no longer need this 'dlc' to get your neccesary mods, just enough days and some luck. As such, this dlc has changed from being a fix that you would need to get any gun to top condition to just an extra that you can skip without any problems as it doesn't really add anything. Perhaps if you're an achievements collector, and crazy for optimising and customising you may get some mileage out of this. Otherwise, buy it on sale or skip it, it's pretty much at the level of an extra skin for your gun/scope

  One of the must have DLC that makes this game a lot easier. When you get mods/etc in game you usually have to pay fees to apply them to guns. This DLC negates that for all the mods it has. You just have to hunt for packages but it is completely worth it. Many of the mods are also some of the best in game. Another reason to pick this up.
