  Not every game needs to be a 50+ hours epic adventure and Grow Home is living proof of that. An excellent, relaxing, endearing and often funny exploration game that'll serve as an excellent diversion from "gitting gud" in your more demanding games. Recommended.

  I love the games that have a unique and strong concept. Grow Home is definitely one of those games. In this game you are controlling a small robot that climbs high places. You connect sprouts of a very big plant to "power sources" that make the plant grow even higher. It is one of those games where you are discovering new realms by going higher and higher or deeper and deeper, that create a sense of wonder that keeps you going. I also love how you are creating the platforms yourself when climbing. As you reach the top, it feels very satisfying to look down and see the whole world overgrown with vines that you created. But the climbing part in this game is rather short. You reach the final destination in about 2 hours or less. Depending how clumsy you are. Besides climbing, the game offers a number of achievements and things to collect. However, the fun part of this game is definitely climbing and figuring out the way to connect sprouts in order to progress. Making leaps of faith when trying to reach another sky island was really fun. But I wish that game would do more with that mechanic. Whether that would be more difficult platforming challenges or simply making the game longer by adding more levels in the sky. Collecting items across the world is not bad, but it doesn't really expand on the gameplay as you are pretty much just backtracking and looking for stuff. It also becomes rather boring to collect everything as you don't need to reach for stuff using the sprout growing mechanic. When you reach the top you just need to dive down to islands. Perhaps adding some puzzle element with the sprout growing mechanic or adding more interactivity to the environment could spice up the collecting part of the game. I would also appreciate some kind of locator option for all the star seeds and crystals. Nevertheless I adore this game and appreciate it. If you are looking to try it out I would definitely recommend at least the climbing part of the game, as it is unique and satisfying, even if it is rather short. I am not sure how it plays with the mouse and keyboard but with the controller it felt very good. I didn't play the sequel yet (Grow Up 2016), so I am excited to see whether they expanded on the concept as I think it has lots of potential.

  This is quite simply one of my favourite games ever. the simple unassuming nature of it's graphics and semi-reluctant nature to show you what it's about, is half of what threw me for a loop prior to purchase. The mechanics of this game are about the nature of control of a robot, with the intent to (I guess) get home?? but the implementation of movement is one that took me aback, it's clearly intended to be simple... and it is, but the interaction of movements feels so much more than purely button presses - it makes you feel engaged as every action is relevant, any error is your error (mistakes don't cause you too much distraction, just to say), but this is one that I truly enjoyed from moment to moment and all progress felt rewarding, as each new upgrade added a level of depth that felt rewarding and natural to the character and player all in one. Fully 10000% (and yes the extra 00's are intended) recommended if you're into 3d platformers based around movement mechanics.

  9/10 would play again, and I need a sequel asap. It's like Human Fall Flat, but not as frustrating and with more of a collectathon goal. However, gradual ability upgrades make the gameplay fun and the world is gorgeous. When you are finally fully upgraded, it's just.... Traversing the world is a joy, and the game is short but sweet. Colorful, relaxing, just a joyful experience.

  One of the games I "grew up" with. I'll always forget about it; whenever I'm reminded of this silly little game, I'm filled with comfort and joy! You mainly have the simple goal of growing a plant. But it's silly and charming and just- mwah S2 (Btw I bought the pack so 1- I could post this review and 2- so my friends with my shared library can play it)

  Grow Home is a silly but fun adventure game where you, as a plucky little robot, attempt to reach your mothership on a foreign planet by growing a massive plant to reach it. The physics I found to be the most challenging part of the game, as the momentum of your movement is difficult to slow down. As such, don't expect precision platforming with this. Think of it as a 3D platformer with Human Fall Flat-style physics. Good fun for a few hours, a nice journey to 100% completion, and decently cheap in a sale too.

  So far, a great adventure game with an interesting core mechanic. The world is truly impressive in matters of scale, style and atmosphere. You control B.U.D., a tiny (and quite clumsy) robot whose job is to grow a huge plant. Growing the plant isn't nearly as boring as I thought it would be, it can be quite a challenge, actually. You also collect crystals along the way. These crystals unlock abilities for B.U.D. when collecting enough, a jetpack being one of the earlier abilities. Overall, the game feels great. You control each arm independently, but their only purpose is to grab onto things, which makes the game much easier to play than, say, Octodad. Jumping and walking are slightly too awkward in my opinion. Jumping isn't precise and might have you fall to your doom. Walking in Gow Home is a clumsy task, as B.U.D. steps on his feet and slides around a little bit, which can also make you fall off an edge. There aren't ennemies yet, but I hope I find some, which would up the variety just a bit. The polygon-based art style is a marvel to look at, surprisingly, which seem to work also thanks to a nice soundtrack. Awesome game overall. A step in the right direction for next-gen 3D patformers. If more developpers could follow Grow Home's ingenious level design, it could mark the beginning of an era of original and cool video games ideas.

  - No Uplay! - Runs very well, no issues at all other than lack of AA options - but you can enable that via Nvidia/AMD control pannels - This game is a really relaxing exlploration game. - Only several hours in, so not sure where the game will take me, but it is a lot of fun so far, well worth the price to explore my own alien paradise, grow plants and sky dive / jump / fly to crazy places. - Lots of islands, caves, plantlife and wildlife - Massive vertical expanse to explore rather than simple ground level - Use these resources to explore and grow the large "Star Plant", guiding it's branches to new areas high above, using the alien paradise enviroment to help you along the way. Grow it into any shape you want! - Climbing/grabbing mechanic is great. Uses triggers to control each arm. Demands that you pay attention to where your hands are, how you move, and what you hold on to. - Collectable items and leveling up of BuD can give new abilites that give you much greater freedom to get around.

  My review of Grow Home~ *please be mindful of spelling mistakes, they seem to pop up no matter how focused I am when I type* OVERVIEW Grow home is a game where the goal is exactly what the title states- to grow home. How do you do this you ask? Well, you have two claw-like hands that can cling to anything and a giant vine, that can sprout little vines that you can control. You try to plug these into little glow-islands that float, and then it makes the big vine grow. Even though that may sound repetitive and/boring, it is not- under any extent. Keep reading to find out why. c: GAMEPLAY 8/10 You play as B.U.D, and as stated before, use claws and vines to go home and reach greater heights. Climbing functions in the same way that I Am Bread works, with a two hands seperatly controlled and seperately made to grip. One thing that really shines about this game is the physics, as bud's movements aren't scripted and are procedural. Step in some water and you'll start slipping, or hit the ground hard and you'll come stumbling to a halt. You use a multitude of plant-based gadgets to aid you in your climb, and these range from flower parachutes to leaf hang-gliders. Another prospect of the game is finding Crystals, spread out across the vertical landscape. As you find these, you'll unlock more abilities from a character zoom function to a super-powered jetpack. One of the best parts of the game is to get really elevated and jump off, falling until you deploy a parachute a mile down. The games height is 1.2 miles, (2000 feet) and is open for you to sprawl giant vines across every inch of it, All of the games functionalitys fit together so perfectly that this feels like a game that was meant to be from the start. GRAPHICS & SOUND 9/10 I can't even get started on the graphics. Bright, vivid colors and amazing landscapes will make you gape in wonder as you stare at the pristine heights waiting to be climbed. This game really proves to you that you don't need insanely textured ANYTHING to still have beautiful and charming graphics. You'll be amazed when the sun rises and adds more stunning colors, and when the sun sets and bud's headlights flick on, illuminating the certain part of the vine you've been climbing all day. Sound is just as perfect, fitting the current peaceful situation with harmonic tunes, also encouraging you to stop and marvel at your sorroundings. PHYSICS 9/10 Physics are great, and everything reacts as it should with weight and velocity. (No cardboard physcis here, don't worry.) Everything reacts as it should, such as pulling smaller rocks is quicker then larger ones, and falling faster or slower will determine just how far your pieces explode when you hit the ground or vine. VERDICT Grow Home is an absolutely stunning and charming game, that brings everything together in a glorious fashion. Pick this title up as soon as you get the chance, and enjoy.   This game is amazing! Tough it only lasts 3-4 hours long, 8 bucks is a good deal! I would like to see updates for this game, maybe even a random world generator or workshop support.
