ميزات Giana Sisters 2D

"The Great Giana Sisters" was one of the first platformers to be released on the Commodore 64. Although sales were stopped soon after the game’s release, The Great Giana Sisters became a cult classic, and Giana an iconic part of video game history.

In 2009, we started a reboot of Giana Sisters and released it on Nintendo DS. Giana Sisters DS marked the beginning of a new series of Giana Sisters games, with Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and Giana Sisters: Dream Runners being the latest releases.

Now we’re happy to give you a HD remake of the 2009 Nintendo DS version on Steam. It features beautiful HD graphics and full controller support. And of course the precise controls, intuitive handling and a smooth learning curve that platform fans expect. All balanced for hours of fun and challenges. It also contains the 32 levels of the original game – restored with love and care to resemble our take on the retro aesthetic.

Freed from the dust of decades, Giana Sisters 2D retains its cherished style, familiar features and the legendary original soundtrack in a fresh revision.

  • Beautifully restored HD Remake of the Nintendo DS classic.

  • Sharp, intuitive controls and an easy learning curve.

  • Lovingly crafted modern take on retro graphics in HD.

  • 80 completely new adventures.

  • 32 fully restored classic levels will put a tear in the eye of many fans of the original version!

  • Legendary soundtrack, inspired by Chris Huelsbeck.

  • Customizable controls and full controller support.

  • Steam integration: leaderboards, achievements, and trading cards.

I'm amazed and shocked how they managed to screw everything up... - Terrible level designs ✓ - Bad collisions ✓ - Awful hitboxes ✓ - Loading the wrong levels ✓ - Teleporting you out of bounds in the middle of the map randomly ✓ - Invisible enemies ✓ - Invisible projectiles ✓ - There's only 1 boss, but you have to fight it like 10 times ✓ - After dying on a level, you respawn dead, so you constantly lose your extra lives, unless you quit ✓ - Blindly jumping to your death, cause you have no idea where you're supposed to go ✓ - Can't start a level, cause it's bugged out ✓ - Sounds glitching out ✓ - Trash game mechanics Do yourself a favor, and play Twisted Dreams instead.

Sadly Black Forest Games removed the excellent pixel look of the original Nintendo DS version. I can still recommend the game, but it's a damn shame: The NDS version is perfect.

A quick review of Giana Sisters 2D! + The art style looks cute and they did a good job creating high resolution versions of all the DS artwork. + The music's great. + All the levels carry over from DS version, and though I haven't played through this entire port, I can remember enjoying playing through the game on DS. + You start with 112 million points. - While kinda cool and funny, I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to start with 112 million points. - I fell through a block, I walked over a bottomless pit, and I jumped through the ceiling a couple of times. The collision detection might be slightly buggy. - When playing retro mode, the game would show the level number as I started each level. And I apparently I played level 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 8-10, and 1. In that order. That doesn't sound quite right. - There's one level where I'd die instantly as the level loaded, and that repeated until I had one life left. That was a bit awkward. - There's various graphical artifacts when playing at 2560x1440. I didn't try lower resolutions so maybe they're fine. - When getting hit, the character will start fading in and out for a few seconds. Makes it a bit tricky to actually see your character and line up jumps. So yeah, the game's a bit buggy. I think I'd recommend the DS version over this port. But I'm still gonna give this a thumbs up as the music's great, and this is a pretty cheap price for pretty awesome music. I'm still slightly baffled about the amount of points you start with. This is definitely the only game where I was pretty high up on the leaderboards without even having played the game yet. Maybe I'm just that good.

I was suprised when I saw trhis title in the store and bought it in a heart beat. I was a fan of the c64 version and Amiga version. I personalyy think it was and this new version is a great game. I specially bought it for my little girl. And she likes it too. Although I would have liked the abilty to play in modern Gui and in 8-bit style line they did with Monkey Island. Nevertheless I recommend this game if you like mario style and relaxing games.

I never liked the original Gianas game (The Great Giana Sisters that appeared in 1987). It was extremely poor Super Mario Bros. rip-off with bad level design and nothing really special about it. Aside from how there were sisters instead of brothers. It was one of Armin Gessert’s early games and he really didn’t bother much. It was just a shameless rip-off made by three people. Gamers, who didn’t have the NES back in the days, but had Commodore and Atari computers, liked the game, though, since, well, it was something like Super Mario and it didn’t require to pay for extra hardware. The game even got a small, but solid fan base. That fact led to 2009 remake called Giana Sisters DS, which, as you can guess from the title, was developed for the extremely popular Nintendo DS handheld. Armin Gessert, creator of the original game, was a part of Spellbound Entertainment (creators of amazing Comamndos clone called Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive) at that point and he was an exclusive producer of the remake, but unfortunately, he died not so long before the game was released. He was too young (only 46 years old), it was too sad to say goodbye to him, and, well, I really liked what Spellbound Entertainment made at that point, so, naturally, I picked up the game and… it was love. From the very first minute of gameplay it was a big love for me and Giana Sisters DS quickly became one of my most favorite DS games ever (and trust me, DS has hell of a lot of amazing games in its library). Smart levels, nice balanced difficulty, extremely cute character design and fantastic soundtrack by Fabian Del Priore (who’s absolutely amazing and extremely friendly person, by the way, make sure to follow him of Twitter) made the game to feel like a magical dream. So, when the official Facebook page announced the HD remake, I was like OMGOMGOMG!!!. Unfortunately, the whole thing turned out to be a mess. First of all, the claim of this version being a DS version’s remake is a complete lie. It’s just a port from mobiles. After DS game became popular, it was ported to Android and iOS and that’s what we have here. Well, mostly. The thing is - the game uses the Unity engine now and that’s where everything goes down the drain. Black Forest Games, who got over the franchize after Spellbound went bankrupt (for those, who didn’t know, Black Forest is made of former Spellbound members), who developed amazing new game in the series called Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, didn’t even bother to work on this port. They just hired the guys called Kasaa Solution, who, as far as I know, released only one single game before (cheap DSi title), and it pretty much shows. While switching to Unity, Kasaa Solution completely broke the game. Everything that can be broken is broken here. Hitboxes, for example, were totally messed up, which can cause many troubles in the game. Controller support is completely broken too. Even though the game somewhat recognizes the Xbox 360 / Xbox One controllers, it doesn’t show you the proper buttons (in-game text shows only keyboard keys and even in options there are no traces of gamepad), you can’t customize the gamepad controls thanks to the weird bug, while D-Pad simply doesn’t work the way it was supposed to (thankfully, you can just use the right stick instead). Even the levels order is broken now. Very often the game just skips some levels and forces you to play the others for many times instead. For example, in my case I was unable to get into the level 7-6 during my first playthrough, but got level 7-7 three times in a row. Same thing happened in many other worlds (there are 9 in this game). It’s that broken. There’s also no way to play soundtrack outside of the game and/or buy it as stand-alone DLC like it was in Twisted Dreams case. Which is a shame, since Giana Sisters DS soundtrack is one of my most favorite soundtracks of all time. Remember all those awesome Amiga cracktros? It's something like that with some unique magic in it. The only good thing about this version is that we can start the retro levels (which are basically the remake of the original The Great Giana Sisters) from very beginning, but that’s just how it was on mobiles. Also, it looks like we have some broken achievements here. Moreover, all of the stuff I’ve mentioned here, was reported ages ago (in 2015, but neither Kasaa Solution, nor Black Forest cared to do a single thing about all that. Because, you know, screwing the customers is a fun thing to do. In other words, even though I’m a huge fan Giana Sisters DS and I loved the idea about HD remake, this version is a broken mess that can’t do even the most basic stuff properly. Which is absolutely impossible to forgive. Even with a huge discount, it still deosn't worth it. The game is broken and just doesn’t work properly, while the price is pretty high for seven years old game. You can say that graphics are better than on the DS, but honestly, it's just an upscaled iOS / Android stuff that appeared six freakin' years ago. All that, while free indie game called Giana's Return (it's awesome, check it out) works like a charm and feels much better than this. Guess who should learn some basic game developing stuff? If you live somewhere near Kasaa Solution’s office, feel free to throw some rotten tomatoes at them. The suckers deserved it oh-so-much.

A plethora of bugs since day one. Not a single patch or word from the devs after initial promises ("we'll provide the best support possible"). Born dead, do not buy. Read the "support" thread here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/350770/discussions/0/490123938430313433/ Update 2016-11-24: Still unpatched after over 1 year. Just saying. Update 2017-11-25: Nominated for "Labor of Love" Steam Award. Yes, this is meant to be ironic. Update 2018-11-25: Same old shit.

What a broken piece of crap. The scoring system, hit detection, achievements, and level selection doesn't work properly. The game was released over 9 months ago and there hasn't been any single update. Don't buy this game. Get the Nintendo DS version instead. It's much more superior and better looking.

For a game that at its heart is a shameless Mario rip-off, this is surprisingly good. The artwork and music have a very laid back feel that suits the game perfectly. Unlike many modern platformers it's not out to kill you or delight in your misery. There's a tricky jump here and there, but for the most part the levels aren't that difficult, retries are essentially unlimited, and the secrets not too hard to find. If you're looking for a chill retro-platformer, pick this up on a sale.

I'm sorry to say, but I am really rather disappointed by this. After Black Forest's rather good reimagining of Giana Sisters from my childhood on the C64 I were pleasantly surprised to see a more true to the original game which I thought would be a nice HD remake. It even boasts the retro levels. What I found were pleasant enough graphics, and a game which feels more like a 48 hour game jam homage to the sisters than a serious effort. Graphical glitches mar the otherwise nice looking facelift. Where the original had powerups going Hairdo to break blocks => Ability to shoot => Shots now bounce off walls => Shots home in on enemies => Activateable smart-bomb => Time freeze => Ability to walk through fire => Extra life (go back to bouncy shots), this has plain hair...punk hair (break bricks, shoot) and that's about it for the abilities in the retro levelset. Keymappings seem to indicate two other abilities in the main game. I got as far as chewing gum, where the bubbles entirely failed to work as described. For someone who wants non-challenging 2D platformer for their kid, this might be a good buy on a sale. For anyone who wants to revisit the past with nicer graphics, look elsewhere...Personally this made me want to dig up my C64 again.
