  快跑啊傻孩子，这可是非公平竞技PVP！肝出顶级饰品的大佬队伍比你的强几倍，玩你妈！ Before you start, you need to know that those top rank players have access to trinkets that are 3 times more powerful than yours. You can unlock those better trinkets by just killing enemy heroes and you don't have to win. But even this is remarkably difficult to achieve since your opponents can just run mark+finale combo and instantly kill your main damage dealer/healer on turn 1 and then you stand no chance. And thanks to the horrible matchmaking system, it is highly possible to run into a top rank player right after you finish the tutorial match. You lose on turn 1, start another match, and here comes another top rank player! The cycle can go on and on and you stuck forever. Just play the base game and don't even spend a single second on this trash.

  I would've like the devs to use the resources and time spent on this "DLC" in something more single-player enjoyable, as most people are reviewing, the game mode has too many exploits and winning doesn't feels rewarding at all, as everything is RNG. It's a passable mode, but disappointed that doesn't has any correlation with the main campain.

  The Butcher's Circus introduces a free to play multiplayer game-mode to Darkest Dungeon. The DLC keeps most mechanics from the base game along with some adjustments to characters and introducing a variety of PVP only trinkets. However because it keeps the mechanics from the base game most of your matches are based off RNG and praying for mercy. The new trinkets and adjustments to mechanics in the Butcher's Circus allow you to create more team combinations allowing you to strengthen synergy and overall performance. However there is a large amount of powerful trinkets locked behind prestige and these locked trinkets can make or break your matches depending if you're the giving or receiving end. My main complaint about the DLC is the matchmaking. In order to minimize matchmaking queue time they don't have any filters to who you queue with. Because of this, you can queue with a fellow new-player/veteran, or get met with the exact opposite. This plus the more powerful trinkets locked behind prestige results most matches being extremely unfair and unfun. I do understand that the whole premise of Darkest Dungeon to make the best of a bad situation, but no one enjoys being floored because of difference in experience and relying on whether a series of code wants to fuck you or not. Overall I like the PVP game-mode, but they need fix matchmaking and nerf a lot of the unlockable Trinkets. Also please don't limit the DLC characters to non-owners. It's straight up P2W with some team and trinket combinations with DLC characters.

  Honestly, this needs ranked matchmaking. I consistently get matched with veterans, even though I have next to no experience. Granted, it is free, but still, I came to have a fair fight against someone that has around the same experience as me, not be curb stomped by someone who's played since launch. Just play the main campaign.

  Your DLCs mount and word travels, let it not precede collapse (pls just work this thing so it has an ounce of balance otherwise its so fun like damn man why did you have to facefirst into the dirt at the very last step its addictive but so bullshit at the same time)

  Absolutely horrible casual experience. New players are shown nothing of the true potential of their teams until they join a ladder where they can be stacked against someone who not only far outweighs them in knowledge (even if they've beaten a Bloodmoon campaign) but has double their trinkets plus dozens of class specific trinkets. However, if you're someone like me who's looking for a game with some depth and scratches the same itch as the campaign, try playing the game out for maybe a week, learning the ropes. Worse comes to worse, the experience didn't cost you anything more than your time invested.

  Horribly imbalanced & severely unfun. This is easily the worst DLC for Darkest Dungeon. Despite DD being a near-perfect game, this minigame DLC somehow takes a complete 180 & somehow gets everything wrong. Whilst every character is available from the start, trinkets aren't & require hundreds of hours to unlock. Matchmaking is a complete joke, even at the lowest rank you will be consistently paired vs players who are completely maxed out with all the best trinkets & perfectly min-maxed meta comps. Nearly every opponent will be sweating harder than a League of Legends player in their final promotion game out of silver & for what purpose? It's supposed to be a casual add-on, they gain literally nothing from doing so, there are no in-game rewards. As for the characters themselves? There are massive disparities between power levels & you will always see the 3 or 4 of the same 6 every single match. Do yourself & your blood pressure a favor & pass on this sorry excuse of an add-on. Stick to the main game & literally any other DLC or mod you please. Cause this ain't it.
