  I rarely drop games before finishing them but with Blue Reflection I just couldn't force myself to make it to the end. To begin with, this is yet another terrible Koei Tecmo PC port, but whereas a lot of the others in this category are playable or fixable, Blue Reflection is that broken that it actually hinders the gameplay experience. Poor optimization makes it impossible to run the game at a stable framerate even at the lowest resolution, graphical effects and options are broken or just don't work and the localization work is at times very poor (but I do not know if this is also true of the other versions). As for the game itself, I was drawn in by the colorful character and costume design. I kept on playing despite the port's problems, but soon enough the game itself also showed it's own. The fact that this game focuses on story rather than on combat would not be a problem if the implementation of this system wasn't that flawed as it is. Instead of having to battle enemies to gain experience, you gain growth points for your characters by improving your relationship with the other girls at school. The events related to this activity are rather uninteresting and it looks to me like the devs didn't devote a lot of time on planning them, which made them more of a nuisance rather than an interesting mechanic to get to know the other girls better. Not to mention the overall writing was decent, but just that. For a game with a focus on storytelling you'd expect a bit more, but the game doesn't deliver on that front either. Were they trying to replace the "boring" combat grind with this? Because if that was the case, they certainly didn't succeed at it: the events sucked and as a side effect it made the combat feel redundant and skippable. Even if you do try to enjoy it for what it is, it's just too easy even on hard and it's not very fun to play. I really tried to like this game because it does have some interesting elements to it, but the execution just didn't let me. I can't really say this is a bad game as some players might enjoy Blue Reflection's more casual approach to JRPGs. If you do plan on playing, though, just make sure it's not this version.

  A Jrpg about magical girls, which is probably the most rare genre ever in games (while common in anime). This game captures the genre perfectly with drama, transformation sequences and badass monsters and heroines. It has the best cloth design for its time, thanks to Mel Kishida which accentuates the feminine and magical traces from the heroines. Combat is very easy even on Hard difficulty, unless you go underleveled (or not applying all skill points). Story and characters are the strongest points about this game, characters are charming with unique personalities while the bosses fights are super cool with amazing soundtracks. Talking about music, this game is a treasure trove of majestic soundtracks. Magic skills are cool visually in battles, although the battles may be kinda of boring aside from boss battles. You can go out on dates with other girls and there may be some lewd moments here and there that may be good or bad for you depending on your perspective. I particularly love the yuri genre, so it’s a plus for me. The game is also not shy of fanservice content with some shower scenes. Translation - Not gonna lie, the translation is borderline machine translated with blatant errors even when talking about the characters names. It’s the biggest weakness from this game and a sad one. I wish they took the time to correct or redo the whole translation and apply as a patch or maybe a future remaster of this game. One of my favorite games from all time. I wish developers would create more Jrpgs with the magical girls genre.

  After finishing the brutality that was Elden Ring, this is just what I needed. Really slow paced game, but satisfying and relaxing. Really heavy emphasis on the slice of life, and it's really scratching my itch for a good visual novel. Combat is pretty easy, but gets the job done. I've never played a mahou shoujo JRPG before, but the story here is pretty simple and sweet. I was a little sketched out by a few reviews I'd read, but after a few hours with the game I have zero regrets. Gonna jump the gun and get Second Light while it's also on sale. Update: I just finished and I feel the need to add more. Lord, I loved this game. It really is an RPG for a visual novel lover. The girls are all just so lively and full of personality. You don't level up by grinding for XP or anything. You just further relationships with each girl and gain points that way. The ending was great. Can't wait to get started on the next one.

  Blue Reflection is about a girl helping people go through their struggles and issues while saving everything along the way. You fight alongside two other characters most of the time, with some outside help for bosses, but the lack of variety doesn't feel bad, on the contrary, you get more and more attached to them and want to understand what is happening to everyone. Yes, there is some fan service and camera views below the skirts or during intimate moments will get old pretty quickly, but it makes you really feel like you are part of their daily life, even though it wasn't necessary. The story is all about friendship and making bonds, I want to insist: they become deeply friends, not lovers, despite what some people want to believe. It is more cute than anything else. I started playing at hardest difficulty because of what people were saying about how easy it is, but in the end I lowered the difficulty and had a much better time that way, because for me it was more about the story, like following a visual novel, than a combat game and I didn't want to struggle too much in this game. Though if you want to struggle, doing everything at hardest difficulty should be fine. The DLC content didn't feel really necessary, I just had fun changing the clothes for some time, but in the end the school uniform was the best for story consistency. So it is more about having some extra stuff and supporting such games. Beware if you are doing achievement hunting: check all the question marks before reporting activity and if you did everything and didn't see a quest appear, that is probably because it will be in the next free time segment. Point of no return happens at chapter 11 when you will get the ultimate level up, at that point only unmissable story triggers should remain. For crafting don't hesitate to farm some monsters in the Common regularly and you should be fine. In the end I loved the slice of life stories, going after all there was to do and had a very good time doing the 100% in around 30h. If you are in need of a heartwarming Persona-like game, this one is a safe purchase. I am excited to see what they did with the second game, Second Light !

  Sorry but I don't want to series anymore. If you ask why I would say the latest title (Sun) has been a damn slap in my face. I don't remember to support such a company like this. Greedy and Asshole, they dare to release the het harem after the first 2 seasons are yuri? Why do I have to pay for them to make a kind of game I don't want to play? There is no way I could enjoy this whole series like I used to be. Demand refund is impossible, but I want to remove this game completely out of my account. Not hidding, I want it completely disappears like I never buy it before. It is a shame for my paid-list game.

  The long boss fights are fun, but combat against regular enemies is extremely boring and too easy even on hard mode. There is no strategy against regular enemies because you always feel over-leveled and you are fully healed after every fight. Its a shame because the UI and music and general presentation is great

  🟢 Amazingly impressive graphics 🟢 Kawaii characters & design 🟢 Magical girls 🟢 Good battle system with awesome music. Full HP/MP recovery after every battle. You can go all-out everytime 🟢 Lots of ways to customize skills with unique level up system 🟢 Very good soundtracks 🟡 Story is rather slow and uninteresting. It's similar to a slice of life story. But it does shine in the last part, felt really emotional with such good soundtracks 🔴 Terrible dungeon design 🔴 Too many side characters, too few developments. Repetitive character arcs. Bonding episodes isn't that good 🔴 Battle isn't rewarding. You only get item drops
