the Clave مقدمة

"the Clave" is a clave pattern metronome app for Android phones – with five selectable patterns including Son, Rumba, two Afro (6/8) patterns and Bossa Nova.

Tempo is variable from 40 to 200 beats per minute (cut time), and the timing is accurate to the nearest sample (22µs).

You can tap the tempo instead of changing the value manually.

Choose from low or high-pitched click, forward (3:2) or reverse (2:3) clave and there is a boost feature for when the Clave really needs to cut through.

It’s a useful practice aid, whether you are beginning to play Latin music, or an experienced sonero. And it’s FREE!
