Praise be to Allah, who facilitated this work for us and bestowed health, intelligence and strength for the translation of this great and fundamental for the Islamic Ummah “Tafsir”. The commentary on the Qur'an, Hafiz ibn Qasir al-Dimashka “Tafsir al-Kur'an al-'Azim (Interpretation of the Great Quran)” is very voluminous and therefore it can be safely called the “Encyclopedia of the Qur'an”, it contains many repetitions, as well as reliable and well-known hadiths, links to false stories, stories and hadiths. It is also intended, as a rule, for students of religious institutions who study this work with Sheikhs-Mufassirs, who are knowledgeable in tafsir issues and are able to explain the subtleties of certain contradictions in interpretation. Therefore, scholars reduced this work by eliminating repetitions, unreliable hadiths and traditions from it, simplifying it and making it more accessible for the ordinary Muslim to understand. There are several versions of Mukhtasar (Acronym) Tafsir Ibn Qasir. The most common and used by us is (المصباح المنير في تهذيب ابن كثير) Al-Misbah al-Munir fi Tahzib ibn Qasir Sheikh Safi Rahman Mubarakfuri, with the revision of the Hadith Shayir nadmom al-Abdul Abd al-Abdul. Also (عمدة التفسير عن حافظ ابن كثير) “Umda At-Tafsir an Hafiz ibn Qasir”, with the verification of hadiths by Sheikh Ahmad Shakir, (صحيح ابن كثير) “Sahih ibn Kassirim naymawh dahim namuh al-dawi Allah), while also working, we referred to the “Mukhtasar (Abbreviation)” of Tafsir Ibn Qasir Sheikh al-Sabuni (may Allah have mercy on him). Therefore, the translation can hardly be called a translation of the full Tafsir Ibn Qasir, although in principle such a task was not set initially. Distinctive features of the abbreviated (mukhtasar) versions (of the above sheikhs) are that unreliable hadiths are excluded from them, but the meanings of the interpretation of all verses, the interpretation of them by other verses, reliable hadiths, and the statements of some scholars of that time are preserved. Also, the feature of “Mukhtasar (abbreviated) Tafsir” is that the complete isnad (chain of transmitters) of one or another hadith is not always indicated in order to simplify the reading, but the last transmitter is indicated or where the hadith is given. When translating the verses of the Qur'an, we used in general the translation of Elmira Kuliev, which is the most widespread and popular among Russian-speaking Muslims. When interpreting the verses themselves, almost all the translations of the Koran available today, such as the translation of Dr. Abu Adel, Nuri Osmanov, Academician Krachkovsky, Sablukov, etc., were used in order to more fully and correctly display the acceptable versions of the translation, guided by the existing classical interpretations of the Koran such as the tafsir Tabari, Kurtubi, Bhagavi, etc., because not everywhere Kuliev’s translation reflects the whole politra of possible interpretations, but only one of the accepted versions of the interpretation of the Holy Quran is transmitted. It should also be mentioned that in this work the reader will meet almost the majority of hadiths already translated into Russian, and many hadiths that have been translated into Russian for the first time.

All praise and gratitude belongs only to Allah alone. We ask Allah, besides whom there is no one worthy of worship, that this work will be useful for every Russian-speaking Muslim and become the reason for the adoption of Islam for everyone who seeks to know the truth, who love it and find time to learn it.
