I was excited for this games release but as soon as i hopped in i noticed a few glaring issues that ruin it for me, the most important issue i have is that your view isn't locked to the submarine so every time you take a turn you have to spin your seat to match the sub which is extremely annoying and motion sickening, another issue is that i could not find a way to reset my seating to match the submarine perfectly. Also in my experience all the animals are spawned in really randomly and they are mixed in with each other so i immediately see a shitload of animals merging and swimming in all directions really strangely and it didn't seem natural or fluid at all which kind of ruins the part that excited me, watching animals. The submarine may look completely interactive with screens that have buttons but the buttons are mostly just decorative and the throttle has only 2 modes: going forwards and stopped. The last issue i had was the settings menu had only 1 option that you can change for graphics and there is no tutorial or controls screen.

Pretty fun, if a little simple. The submarine controls really well, I'd love to see the same submarine and controls (maybe with a few more buttons) in a more objective based game.

Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2

You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/2XFAaUDuyaw This is an ocean discovery type experience where you control a submarine and just enjoy observing the ocean life. The submarine is very easy to control, where you grab the joystick to direct its movement and use the throttle to control the speed. There are currently 4 ocean maps to explore: the coral, the arctic, the deep, and the coast. I want to estimate it took me 40-45 minutes to find all the ocean life this game has to offer. There's actually quite a number of sea creatures in this game to find. It includes clownfish, angelfish, sharks, whales, sea lions, dolphins, sea turtles, giant squids, jellyfish, and more. The models are not super realistic, but they mostly look good enough. I do think some of the scales of the sea creatures are way off though, the Moorish Idol and Clownfish are a lot bigger in this game than they should be. I also think the animations / groupings of these sea creatures could be a lot better. Also the plant life and terrain could have better textures as they seem to be another weak point of the experience. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting steady 90 fps. There are sparse graphical settings of low through high graphical settings. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. I definitely think the visuals can be improved overall, but it's not bad for a budget underwater title. I think this experience would be perfect for families with kids. Rate 6/10. I only paid $7.49 USD, so I think I got my money's worth. If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator Group. You can join here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/Oculus_WMR

Recording of my first fire-up can be found here: https://youtu.be/9Sa6e8hKuIs I grabbed this while it was on sale, paying a touch over £5 for it, and... honestly, I feel it was worth it. There is, unsurprisingly, very little to it so far (hence the fact that I'm writing this review with only 0.5 hours of game play behind me), but what I experienced felt fun and worth the price, assuming that development will be ongoing. There are, however, some issues (as is to be expected). The worst, for me, is the music. While the music itself is fine and seems to suit the experience, OMG IT IS SO LOUD AND THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF! Devs, please, for the love of Poseidon, please, please, please, add a music volume option and make it one that goes down to zero! Another mild complaint I'd have, as someone who's right-handed, is the cockpit feels kinda the wrong way round. I naturally want my hand on the throttle and the stick, but it's my right hand I want on the stick and my left on the throttle, here it's the opposite way round. I don't know if that comes from reality or not but it feels... awkward. An option to change the handedness of the cockpit would be great. More generally: the cockpit itself feels a bit on the large side. It's hard to really pin it down bit I felt like a child sat in an adult's seat. Perhaps sizing that down just a wee bit would work? (or perhaps an option to do that). In fact, I'd go so far as to say the whole world around you feels a bit too scaled up when compared to you. Overall though: yeah, the ear-killing music aside, it's a pretty chill experience and one I can see me mucking about in some more. I'm going to call this a "recommend", for folk whole like VR and sims and don't need a "purpose" all the time, but just like hands-on-cockpit immersive experiences, and of course for folk who know what they're getting with early access and are happy to gamble the price of coffee and a cake on something that might gain more content in the future. I'm happy with this, I'm keeping this, I'll be dipping back into it and will be keeping an eye out for more content.

Awesome idea, but needs *much* better graphics. Dynamic shadows would do much, and assets need to be redone with much higher polygon counts. The sunken airplane really needs to have a round shape - not hexagonal, which must be a left-over from the low-end Quest version. Right now I'm getting 90 fps using res 500% with the Index and my RTX 3090 (in-game graphics on the highest) - and I don't need res 500%. I'd much rather want awesome graphics that really pushes my rig. The ground/bottom needs much more vegetation - it's much too barren. Fish movement also didn't look natural. Maybe Subnautica can be of some inspiration (realtime shadows work there in VR, and check out their environments and vegetation). Keep up the good work!

I genuinely enjoyed diving around in the sea from within this... experience? Game? Either way, it's relaxing and actually beautiful. I can't wait to see the final form, and to revisit it at that time. I'll enjoy seeing how far it has come since then!

This is a super cool vr game and i hope that the creators keep going with it because this could possibly be one of the best ocean vr games

This is very bare bones, the VR scale is wrong, you feel like a child size pilot. There's nothing to do and the repetition of patterns on the textures and sea creatures start after the first 30 seconds. The controls are clunky, you can't map a joystick or HOTAS. Not sure why the poly count on the props is so low, calling those objects ship wrecks or airplanes, is a stretch of one's imagination.

Nice demo, but that's it. If you had to choose, get "Aircar": similar concept but at least you get a cyberpunk city and spaceship. Pro: - Good sense of driving a big machine. Cons: - Basic graphics. - Half an hour longevity.
