  The Nightmare DLC is a decent addition but does feel very similar to a Rise of the Tomb Raider DLC that has Lara confront her fears. The nightmarish visions Lara encounters leading up to the tomb are visually impressive and the combat parts were a fun added twist. The Monkey Gods tomb isn’t terribly difficult and feels like a level of Mario. The 30 minutes of added content feels like it was purposely left out of the main game simply to have it later sold as DLC. I recommend it for what it is and the fact that it came with Definitive version. I would not recommend it as a $5 addition.

  Too short and makes it look more like a side quest. Should have been free. Also what the point in getting your gear first before completion of the mission? Which developer thought about doing that? No there aren't any zombies even though the trailer showed it that way.

  The first DLC was cool, the second was preety good, this one is... bad. This kinda hard for me because I LOVE the new reboot and I don't wanna shit about it but when tough love is still love I guess Gameplay was almost non existing, except for one annoying combat map (only pistol, infinite ammo), the nightmare part of The Nightmare was super short and the closest thing we got to "old friends and enemies" was their bodies under water, to which Lara doesn't even comment on. There was only one cool part in the end of the nightmare part, and after that you got to the tomb. The tomb by itself was really good and made you think, like almost every other tomb in the game, but it didn't feel connected to what the DLC was trying to do. All in all, the DLC tries to make itself sound like psychological horror but it fails to live up to expectations and gives an unrelated tomb, a bit cool outfit and a really lame weapon. The only reason the title The Nightmare fits this DLC is because it's a nightmare to have this exist. ~~PROS~~ - one cool moment - good tomb - outfit is okay I guess? - uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ~~CONS~~ - not enough gameplay - not enough nightmare - a bad nightmare (and not the good kind of bad) - unrelated tomb - lame weapon - bad story - just lame, come on Eidos-Montréal, you can do way better than this!

  This is the biggest piece of shit DLC Tomb ever made. You want to go for those juicy time runs where you need to do everything perfectly to go for the top time? Forget about it... i have never seen so many failed attempts for Lara to grab to ropes, ledges, climb or jump in a straight line. Also 1 out of 5 times my co-op partner disappears while i open the first door for him which results in a disconnect later in the Tomb. Fuck you Square Enix and fuck this game!

  'The Nightmare' is one of the better DLCs for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, although is about roughly the same length and 'challenge' as the other 'challenge' tombs, roughly 30-40 minutes long, with minimal effort required. Visually though, 'The Nightmare' is incredible, showing us a glimpse into the damaged psyche of Lara Croft and allowing us to visit Croft Manor, and see Lara's weaknesses, a fresh take in a series which has spent so much time discussing her strengths. It's good as a plot piece, but there's little in the way of puzzles. Based on the other 'challenge' tombs, this one is one of the better ones, so it's a cautious recommendation if you're already a fan of the series.

  I thought that this DLC was pretty cool bringing back connections to the previous two games although it doesn’t do it in a satisfactory way and kinda gives you blue balls as it just doesn’t deliver a good idea. It more so harps on the idea of Lara’s issues and guilt with everything she's done yet shes not even phased and then you have to go through this hellish tomb. +New tomb +Tomb is challenging +New outfit +New pick +New side quest +Don’t have to get gold on the time/score attack +Remnants of the past game +Co-op -Don’t really like the new outfit or the new pick -DLC can be finished within 30 mins to an hour and really isn’t worth $5 -Dialogue in the side quest is very brief -Personally found the tomb to be annoying how sometimes when you’d go to push the stones back over the spike traps they’d sometimes trigger way earlier than they’re suppose to when you’re pushing the device. Also the drums insta killing you when you’re on the edge and not even making contact???? Especially didn’t like how dying would set you back and you would have to re-do the part of the tomb each time you died even when you progressed to the next part -Overall plot spoilers [spoiler] I’m not sure how I feel about Lara having another Nightmare DLC??? She had one in the last game about her dad and was being chased by like zombies if I remember in her house and then her dad turned into a giant demon spirit and tried to kill her some weird shit. Now this game she focuses on how her mom's dead too and has some brief flashbacks of what caused it with no dialogue and then has to swim through this cool section of past dead antagonists and then you have to fight all your past enemies from the past games. I liked how Anna grabs you but that's it???? I didn’t like the part with the graveyard I felt that with the huge lit up gate that you had to get in there somehow but instead had to dig up Jonah then Lara has some evil version of herself telling her to kill herself because of all the death that follow her but Lara just shrugs it off as “I didn’t mean to” it was just weird… and handled poorly especially the voice that the Evil Lara has sounds lame. [/spoiler] I was hoping something more cool like the past game’s Nightmare DLC but was met with a brief side quest, and ugly pick and outfit, a hard tomb which wasn’t very fun, and a poor look at Lara’s past for $5 within 30 mins was pretty meh.
