  Great horror, but the first part was way better! In my opinion this game is scarier and more disturbing than the first. The graphics are simply amazing but the story has lots of plot holes. Oh and you play as some scrawny redditor. I feel like this game lacks in some areas where it didn't in the first game. But its still a solid, terrifying experience that I definitely recommend. Just play the original game first. This game was make me scream like a girl...! & made my gf laugh at me xD hope you enjoy playing. Good Luck🌹 9/10 in Horror genre, 100% will play it again in the future.

  This game sucks. I love Outlast 1, and it's DLC. This game on the other hand, never scared me. The story is meh at best, and absolutely horrible the worst. The game also does a horrible job at directing the player where to go or what to do. Outlast 1 on the other hand did a great job of flashing your current objective on your screen, whereas 2 has these vague "Get to the place, find blank." The only positives I have for this game is the graphics and the new mechanics compared to 1. Graphically this game is fantastic, the school sections especially. Their use of dynamic volumetric lighting is great, though at times it can get disorienting with the Night Vision in dense forest. The new mechanics such as crawling, locking doors, and water are pretty cool. The water mechanics felt a little clunky at times and way too unforgiving when you mix Dark+Water, like towards the end. I'm not the biggest fan of the way recording work, it takes up to 20 seconds to record something, but at times you may be getting chased while trying to. Sprinting is a huge downgrade compared to the first, sure being able to sprint unlimited isn't realistic, but the game lacks a HUD to communicate how much longer you have to run besides your characters Asthmatic breathing. Anyways, I look very forward to Trials, since the playtest was a fantastic experience, and Coop might be what this franchise needs to break up the monotony the singleplayer formula is at.
