I *really* wanted to enjoy this game, I loved the demo, was part of the hype building up to release, bought it within the first hour it was released, played it in one sitting, the whole nine yards. But holy, none of that excitement could replace the most boring and frustrating 8 hours of my life. If you want this game because it looks like Visage or Biohazard, just save your money and replay one of those instead. The effectiveness of the ambient sounds quickly dissipates within the first hour of gameplay, because the horror aspect of the game actually relies on it quite heavily. After the halfway point, the jump scares are predictable. By that point, you'll find yourself absolutely fed up with the half baked, convoluted puzzles. These puzzles attempt to emulate the difficulty of the games it clearly draws inspiration from, but instead leaves you with 0 leads in an attempt to pass it off as an elaborate puzzle. You'll spend more time figuring out *what* the puzzle is than you will figuring out how to actually solve it. Make no mistake: these are not difficult puzzles, they're just genuinely bad puzzles. On top of the tacky scares and bad puzzles, there's two separate occasions within the game that bring up completely unrelated heavy themes that normally would have potential to enhance the macabre element of a plot, but instead are just thrown in to add nothing more than a cheap bit of edge to an otherwise dull story. After 8 hours, I can find almost nothing good to say about the game. Actually that's not true, I didn't experience frame drops on the recommended hardware, that's good I suppose. Seriously; from both a horror fan and a pre-release follower, just skip this one. EDIT: The accessibility is also abysmal and an afterthought. No motion sickness settings for the awful view bobbing and motion blur, no brightness settings at all, no inverted controls for controller on PC, no individual volume settings. These things being overlooked is sort of inexcusable if you want the game to be played by those who require those accessibility settings.

  If one makes a game, where the head moves like the player is drunk, why tf can't you make options, that turn this off? Please introduce settings that make a game accessible for more people. Things like "Turn off Headbobbing", "Turn off Motion Blur" and others like this should be normal nowadays. Poorly I can't play the game like this as I now have the feeling, that I just want to go to the toilet to puke.

  So I played for about 4hrs. Whilst the first 2hrs were really good, I genuinely screamed, got jump scared and the overall atmosphere was very horror vibes. But at a point in the game, the puzzles overrode the horror game play. Some puzzles would take me 10 mins, whilst others took me what felt like 30 mins. There is very little direction in the game with the puzzle so you just end up running around int he house for a long time not knowing what to do. I even got to the point, where I was getting jump scared in the game, but I myself didn't even scream or was phased, due to how bored I ended up getting... I've played indie $4 horror games that far exceed this one. This was NOT worth $50... I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on this game and go for the cheaper indie horror games like "is Simon there?", that was had me screaming like a little girl! I hope this review helped someone out.

  I played this game for 5 hours. First of all, this game looks FANTASTIC visually! It feels like alot of time making this game went towards this. It feels like MOST of the dev went towards the graphics, because the rest of this game is... First 2 hours of this game were genuinely griping me with some fantastic moments, but as you explore more of the house, the games's cracks begin to show. The puzzles are thrown in your face very early with an expectation that you should remember what they are the entire playthru once you FINALLY get an item that doesnt look like it would solve the puzzle... I spent HOURS pulling my hair trying to roam the house figuring out where to go, what puzzle to solve, how to use my items. The game often gives you VERY LITTLE direction on how to progress next. I spent so long getting bored roaming around the house trying to figure out what to do, that the jumpscares (which make up 99% of this game's "scares") no longer phased me. I've played $5 indie horror games that are ASTRONOMICALLY better designed, more horrifying, and fun to play than this disappointing $35 game... Save your wallet and go for something a bit cheaper

  Madison is a theme park/scavenger hunt of a horror ride. Fans of P.T and Layers of Fear and Visage will really enjoy this one. +Great graphics, really surprised to see this level of clarity from Unity Engine. +Superb sound design! +Puzzles galore! several different challenges, and some real brain busters here. +Collectibles to obtain! Now for the negatives -While the sound design was spectacular. There were certain ambient sounds that played in loops. Such as footsteps, door closing or creaking, and clash of thunder. While i appreciate the effort of setting the ambience. These sounds lost their effect as they played so much! Sometimes silence is just as terrifying!!! -Pacing can be difficult as some puzzles will take you some time to figure out. And for some players the horror loses it's momentum. Subjective tastes here mind you. -Jumpscares are as you imagine them, But luckily there is a distinct pattern to watch for, And you should see these coming from a mile away once you figure these patterns out. Overall had a great time with MADiSON, Stunning visuals, some great horror to experience here, Overall performance was great, had some minor fps drops in odd places. But beyond that, Nothing too major. Fans looking for another Visage or PT to wet your appetite. Jump on in!

  To think this is their first ever game they've created, I am genuinely blown away by how incredible this was. I think it's one of the scariest games I've played and I loved the achievements and collectables feature in game. This game is super challenging, so not for people who are impatient haha. I personally love that it challenged me but it wasn't too difficult that it made me want to quit out. The story was 10/10 and I hope and pray that they continue to create more games like this. Huge 10/10 from me and the freydots.

  Really cookie cutter experience. Trending because it spams jump scares, shaky cams, and loud noises at you every 5 seconds for YouTube screamers. Gets super tedious and feels padded to try to justify the price tag (~6 hours long, no replay value and $35??). People say there are puzzles, but it's really just run around the house and go on a scavenger hunt while only able to carry 10 items. In a year I won't remember a single thing about this game because it was just so generic.

  Fuck this goddamn game. I swear to god bruh there were so many times i thought i was about to go see Jesus because my heart was going to fall through my ass. That asshole blue knees and his goddamn song can suck a dick. Holy shit. Why would you make this? You trying to send people to their graves? on a scale 1-10 to not recommend it would be a 10/10 as a HELL NO. Fuck Polaroid cameras... I'm glad that shit is over.
