  Playing this somewhat extensively ( in comparison to the majority of the bad reviews who have a grand total of less than 7 hours ) I can safely say- skip the tutorial. Skip the tutorial due to it not being an accurate reflection of the game's combat, you don't keep the items you find from it, all in all it needs work and the island training grounds can help you learn controls just fine. For whatever reason the tutorial they added when the game went F2P has terrible hitreg, bugged audio, horrible stamina consumption (3 swings from an iron sword depletes your entire stamina whereas in ACTUAL Freebooter/Mercenary expeditions 4 swings only depletes 1/4 of your entire stamina pool), and has enemies that are unkillable at the beginning point. The game could be compared more similarly to Tarkov, than Dark and Darker. Yes I know many of you are looking into this because of the other dungeon crawling game, but there is no encroaching darkness- only timed instances lasting ~30 or so minutes so you can take your time, no limited number of portals which only allow a certain number of people to escape, and has equipment rotation which DnD doesn't have yet as of 3/17/23. They've definitely improved the hitreg and some of the rubberbanding since I last played pre F2P and I admire they're trying to be a competitor to Dark and Darker. I greatly enjoy both games, as both have different feelings to me, personally. Your experiences will differ, but I've found there to be more friendly players in this since there's no competition for extractions.

  Addicting gameplay loop of looting killing and extracting while upgrading crafting stations. That is literally the only positive to this game. As one of the only 20 people playing this shit game I have wasted far too many hours on it and put up with all the bugs that come with it. There are so many bugs it's not even worth addressing them because this game is rotten to the core and I'm sure will be abandoned like their other projects. The most inexcusable bug of being unable to do any input in certain combat situations seemingly has gotten worse with their latest "update". You have 4 options in combat to protect yourself or break somebody's combo of spamming Left click and kick until you die. You can attack back if your weapon is fast enough, you can kick them, you can try to dodge out of the way, or you can hold block (yes you might get lucky enough to parry stagger them) The major issue here is that ALL of those things are actions that can be interrupted by the continuous attack spam and ALL of your actions take stamina whether they actually happen or not. It's like simply pressing the buttons will deplete your stamina while your guy stands there doing nothing eating absolute shit. Sometimes for no reason at all your dodge and block buttons will do NOTHING. Want to land that perfect parry? Oh sorry the game doesn't read that input right now so you just lost 80% of your health or got 1 shot, donating your kit you just farmed/crafted hours to make, oh and to top it off, the guy who killed you is using a common weapon dropped by an NPC. I've put too many hours into this game and had a lot of fights and good kills , using every weapon available. Sometimes I'll go 5 fights with no issues. Then it happens. Inputs fail to do anything. Noob with starting weapon? No problem, they'll just attack spam and interrupt all your actions, dodge, block, attack, kick, while your character continues to drain their stamina ATTEMPTING to do some thing. Once you're already half health and stam drained it's over already. Don't even get me started with terrain blocking where your guy can't fucking manage to walk over a 1" high piece of dirt and you're forced to be stuck and unable to move while the person beats on you. You must think "hey i bet it feels good to kill people or beat a duo or trio though" No. It actually doesn't. Because every fight is essentially the same shit. Alternate between 2 kinds of swings and a kick until that person dies and likely use a bunch of your consumables because there was a combat bug and even though you blocked early, the game doesn't give a fuck, that weapon is going straight on through and chunking your HP. Stay far , far away from this dumpster fire. Everything from the terrible AI and voiceovers, the combat, the crafting systems, the lack of players, the frequent gamebreaking bugs, and zero content all make for a strangely addicting torture device that I keep going back to ONLY because Dark and Darker isn't out yet and I keep thinking maybe, just maybe I'll get a couple more fights without any bugs and scratch that itch. 2/10 for this fucking garbage

  its not totally the games fault. the players are toxic. full teams of heavy armored guys with 2 handers just slaughtering eveyone with no gear an empty inventory for fun. people are begging for more players but the toxic people running around are making everyone new refund it. theres no way to progress when you spawn in and get cut in half before you get to loot anything. there needs to be gear score matchmakeing. a better plan would be to make people invincible when there extracting that way people can loot a little bit and escape from the roaming bands of toxic players hunting noobies for fun. as it stands I spawned in 15 game and got insta killed in all of them. i made it to my extraction one time by running straight there from spawn and 2 guys fallowed me and killed me anyways.

  First and Foremost ignore all reviews regarding the Fist/Dagger combat, the devs patched it hours after it appeared as an issue. First going off what I initially said it gives me hope that the dev team is willing to listen to its community and fix the issues that need to be dealt with. Second the price for the game is fair, overall $20 for a melee tarkov, even when tarkov was in this early of a state it still was $90-$150 to even play the actual game. Finally it is an enjoyable game for friends and solos, they have ingame mercenaries that can help you out when trying to go into an expidition and not just get three man ganked out of no where. The 3 man aspect feels solid any higher and it would honestly be too much and if it were single player it wouldn't be enjoyable at all so the three man max feels perfect, even duoing feels nice with the 1 mercenary you can bring in.

  Extremely early access. The combat is super basic and doesn't feel fleshed out currently. only 3 attacks at this point slash heavy or kick. Most attacks is just spamming until someone drops at this point or just spamming crossbow and running backwards. A little underwhelming at this point so cant recommend until further updates are made.

  this game is absolutely fantastic :D there's a lot to do in the game and it's hard to get bored really looking forward to what the devs come up with in the future :D

  They need to update it so if youre playing solo you only play with other solos. This isnt like tarkov where you can make up for the lack of team mates with well placed shots. The ganking is out of control

  This is so bad, I came here after the dark & darker testnet and it's nothing like it. Game is filled with bots, unplayable, animations are not smooth, gameplay is utter sh*t, combat is really bad, you can't loot some items. The game even still has the favicon from unreal engine. Dirty moneygrab, don't touch this with a 10 foot pole no matter what.

  Its a really fun PvP loop, if they improve the combat more we got a gem here
