    Don't get me wrong, the game is great and all... But it is so much about being replayable to find out more about the story and you can't skip some REALLY BORING parts and scenes that never change. Also, the game's been out for over 2 years now and no skip/fast forward option has been added. Once it is added I'll change this to a positive review. If it ever does.

    The production level on this game is insanely good, from the acting to the cinematography. Only thing to mention is that the controls can be a bit clunky from time to time. Overall, definitely recommend.

    Best game I have ever played. This is just a next generation of FMV games and even more impressing is the fact that only 6-8 people were making this masterpiece without actors included. Great job Jack, Pavle and Holly.     It's amazing to see how far FMV have come since the old days and it's downright appalling to see how bad the controls are in this game. The visuals, the acting and the soundtrack are absolutely great (kudos to the actors and the composer Austin Wintory) but the controls are absolutely terrible and get in the way of the enjoyment of the game. I got stuck right before the end of my run because the game wouldn't let me click and drag to proceed so after trying for a few minutes and reloading the game twice I ended up watching the two last minutes on Youtube (that's as anticlimactic as it gets). Having players click and drag the mouse on the PC doesn't feel responsive at all in this game and it must be downright impossible for players with any sort of disability since at times you need to click and hold and drag the mouse further away in order to move forward with the story (full disclosure I'm not disabled but I've hurt my hand recently and I didn't expect the game to put me through that much dragging the mouse around). I can understand the time limited events being included for immersion but there is absolutely no reason why they couldn't make it easier to play the game. Last but not least, the game comes with audio files in eight different languages which is great (English, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish) but chances are you will be playing in only one language so that's 11GB of useless data that you downloaded for nothing (definitely not ecofriendly) that will clutter your drive (the game takes 37 GB) so if you decide to give this game a try I would advise to go to: \Steam\steamapps\common\Erica\data\soundbanks and delete the folders for the languages you won't be using since that will save you about 11GB. I would entreat devs to consider some sort of accessibility options or controller support for the PC, especially considering this is not a genre that should require that much effort or dexterity on the player's part.

    In case you are looking for a good FMV game and considering giving Erica a shot, don't. Just don't. Go get Late Shift, you'll have so much more fun. FMV games are usually hit or miss, but sometimes a pleasant scenery and overall tolerable narrative can save an idiotic story, and the other way around: a good, immersive story can carry it all, cancelling out all the technical inconveniences such as uncomfortable interface or weird point-and-click events. In this game, neither happens, because both the story and the gameplay are atrocious. Prepare yourself for the unbearable amount of point-and-click anywhere&everywhere. Ignite a lighter, twist a door handle, open a suitcase (all three of the clasps, one by one), and as soon as you are done, you'll need to pull a paper out of an envelope, cut a cake, pick up a phone, draw a picture... And then some. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind occasional player participation, but when you literally cannot blink without a yet another pointless action, it breaks the immersion severely. By the way, if you happen to decide that you are tired of this and want to exit the game, you'll have to force close it through the task manager, otherwise it'll just freeze on you. Ah, and when you re-launch it, prepare for the ringing phone soundbite from the previous scene to carry over into the next one and ring relentlessly until the scene is over and your brain has deteriorated. Don't even get me started on the plot, where we have a (presumably) mentally healthy main character spend her days among three psycho girls with no supervision whatsoever. Said psycho girls are also allowed to roam around whenever and wherever they desire, visit each other's rooms and pretend to be staff in front of other visitors. I won't get into it too much, since I've only played it through once, but the main storyline also leaves a lot of questions unanswered, and seems far-fetched, if not just plain weird and scarcely believable. Not to mention it was crammed into a time cap of about two hours, which didn't help at all. I won't recommend it, at least not as your first FMV. Actually, I feel sorry for those who'd bought it back when it came out as a PS4 exclusive. I got it on sale and honestly, if it had happened any other way, that would have been the fastest refund I've ever made.

    Erica is a beautifully designed and well performed movie choice style video game. The cast, story, and production was all executed superbly, leaving my only complaint being that I would like to enjoy more of it. This is more of a compliment that a complete game has that reaction, but here we are. The story has a lot of twists and turns, despite being about as long as a motion picture film (approximately 130 minutes). The writing was well done, giving the cast a good structured story to work with. The acting was brilliant, and definitely performed a very believable and enrapturing experience. Upon reaching the conclusion, I am left with many questions. I will not go into spoilers, but I am hoping for more to come, and to include some elaboration on the events that transpired up to this point. I am also going to enjoy taking all of the other options available in follow plays through, and seeing if that clears up any of those questions. I will be taking every single option that I can. The music is beautiful, and fits the mood of the game. I can see this being the kind of soundtrack that you would listen to to relax or have a calming ambiance. The controls and notifications for making choices are subtle and well done. I found myself making some of the choices before the prompts as the game went on, partially because of the suspense, and also because the style became easy to learn and navigate. The first few minutes of choices was much like a tutorial in how to select your paths and interaction, which was nicely done. I also found the interaction to play well into adding suspense and drama, as well as making the choices feel more important. I look forward to trying each and every selection, before I consider myself to have completed the game. In short, Erica is a beautifully made game with a compelling and dramatic story. The acting is superb, with a lovely soundtrack. I recommend this game for those that are looking for a cinematic choose your own adventure with an excellent story and performance. I hope to find more games like these, and will be adding Flavourworks to my list of developers to follow. Thank you for making such a gorgeous movie/game experience.

    The time limits are so annoying. The idea is probably to force players to "trust their gut", but for me it was basically "i have time to read only half of the options, so I'll just pick one at random".
