First battle feedback: Game is obviously a bit janky but otherwise combat doesn't feel bad. The AI is acting somewhat intelligent and weapon damage feels good. Cover rating acts a bit weird but I'm sure such will be fixed soon. In general the game feels really good for it's first EA release.

Very, very in Pre-Alpha. Don't understand why they wanted to release it now, it requires a TON of work! For now, a 6 on 10 for the 'idea' of the game, but is simply not ready to be played, for now.

The game's tactical combat feels very fun and somewhat refined, but the actual campaign is still missing. However, I think this game has great potential and the developers are working hard to make it happen.

Be aware that this Alpha release seems to be more in a Demo state giving you about an hour or so of game play. My initial impression is pretty positive so far given what we have at release. I enjoy that there is (potentially) a ton of customization options for weapons, outfits/gear/accessories and so on. The campaign map is pretty large and the enemy AI seems pretty decent so far. Meaning they don't suicide rush or ignore threats. I have experienced a few shootout type situations where the AI will use cover, peak, and try to flank your positions. I believe there is a ton of potential for this game so long as the developers are consistent and focused on updating. As far as the cons at the moment, as stated there is currently a limited campaign with about 30 turns to play. In this state there is no other game modes available. The in game market and mercenary hiring options are not yet available so you are limited to the mercenaries you initially hire (Don't let them die, you can't replace them) and gear is only acquired through completing missions. Some animations and assets are not finished so it can be a little strange at times. The only bug I encountered so far is the turn rotation sometimes gets hung up on the enemy team, I've found that aborting the mission and restarting it is the best fix if this happens (You aren't penalized for this at the moment). Overall, I would say this game is worth a shot at it's current price point. If you don't want as a "Demo", just give it some time to develop further and keep an eye out for the updates. Hope this helps some!

I can't believe this came out! I almost took it off my list. So far the game at the test stage is a little buggy with walking and turning. But I see great things here and can't wait to see it develop more.

Ill say yes i recommend this game, but not at its current state. Ill recommend the idea of the game. Understand this game is extremely alpha and it needs a lot of polish and love. The idea of the game is cool, the missions aren't bad, the damage feels good, and the ai isnt dumb. The game itself does not want to go above 15-20fps for me, and stutters hard. The cover works, somewhat, and every grenade i threw blew up every barrel on the map regardless of closeness. Again, I understand its alpha, but it should be pre-alpha bordering on a tech demo. Ill be interested in seeing where this game goes in the future if they follow the roadmap of monthly updates.

Basically a pre alpha at this point, really hope they continue to work on this as it needs a lot of work. The market for hiring new operatives or buying equipment doesnt even exist at this point so its fairly unplayable atm as its very easy to lose your starting operatives as many of them dont even start with body armor or medical items for some reason. I seriously hope they reevaluate what is reasonable equipment for a mercenary to have in a modern warzone and not just follow the same unrealistic start with a t shirt and pants and work your way towards being fully kitted BS that all other games seem to think is a reasonable progression curve. The combat engine is very interesting however, as Ive not seen anything quite like it before. The whole reaction time system is quite interesting as you can run into enemy opportunity fire and still escape fairly easily by running back behind cover when you spot them and they wont be able to react quick enough to fire before you get back behind cover. I assume there will be better enemies with much faster reaction time in some places which will cause the success of this to vary. Its very interesting however and for that reason alone I will be watching the progression of this game for awhile, and will update my review as the game continues to be ironed out. In addition the AI is very unique and actually quite smart, and already surprised me in just the first mission. Its the first XCOM style tactical game Ive seen that actually allows you to make FULL use of real world fire and manuever tactics as when you break visual contact with the enemy they will actually lose awareness of where you are, its like if you could reenter stealth in XCOM 2 repeatedly. So if you keep them occupied with one guy engaging them from behind cover in a stalemate, you can then send other operatives around the side of a building and shoot into their exposed flank which is far more deadly and is how I got most of the kills in the first mission whereas shooting it out across cover at best got me flesh wounds on both sides. The AI is pretty decent at reacting to this system and will aggressively seek cover and react to the new threat which requires doing it all over again if position allows. Its going to be scary when the AI is actually capable of doing the flanking against you which I imagine is planned. Another interesting thing is the AI when knocked down to its last man will change entirely and the last guy will run quite far and in an unpredictable way, going and finding a safe place somewhere to hide in wait as its final stand. I had a very interesting Bourne Identity type fight when the last guy ran and hid in the cornfield outside, in which I was able to finally sneak up behind him and kill him with my last guy. Definitely some significant potential in creating some situations that other XCOM type games cant give you. I definitely cant recommend buying it right now though, but its definitely something to throw on your wishlist and check in on once in awhile.

It's very alpha stage, so don't expect much and then half your expectations ;) I think it's promising, but can recommend it only if you are hardcore fan of genre and understand what alpha means. Shoot outs feel pretty nice, flanking tactics matter a lot. Not sure how destructible environment is (Kinda hoping Silent Storm level in future), so far got only small arms and doesn't seem to make much damage to wooden structures like fences etc.

Basic mechanics look solid but as with anything early alpha there's always going to be room for improvement. Love the gameplay. Think Jagged Alliance, XCom, Wasteland. I've been following this for a while now so knew what I was getting into. If you're not sure, wait for a more polished build, but this is looking *really* good.

I cannot recommend this game at this time, but hope to change that in the future. I have missed multiple shots that have had a 99% of succeeding, and have seen a fair few of janky things. Below are some improvements that I believe could be implemented: - There is nothing to buy, so I don't know why there is money to be had. - You are supposed to be former elite special operators, so a skill tree/traits would be nice. - Selector lever changes so you could decide whether to go single/burst/full auto. - The overwatch function is in a swath, which is nice, but with a little work it could be a set range, similar to the suppress function in Door Kickers 2. - Having some penalty for using a scoped rifle up close. - What does hitting right mouse on an enemy do? The ring goes smaller but nothing happens? - If you are out of ammo your person will try to pull overwatch or do whatever instead of changing his magazine. An alert reminding you that you are out of ammo would be nice. - For the story if language ablilites mattered that would be really neat. - Hiring other people to work for you, or having multiple teams to do multiple missions 'simultaneously' Here are the sustains: - Prone/changing your stance (if it matters) is a great idea that other games often overlook. - When the enemy is in overwatch, if you choose to enter overwatch, you have to first fight the enemy in overwatch. Which is great, it would be nice if you beat the enemy at overwatch if you could then maintain overwatch. - I appreciate the level-up function. But a tree similar to skyrim where you improve the traits you use would be nicer. - I like that you can loot items in the map and still gain the reward for completing the mission. I am hopeful for this game, and look forward to seeing it go through early access. Edit: If you could have some suppressing fire function where you link one or more of your teammates together to do 'talking guns' or shoot at an enemy which could result in a suppress debuff where that enemy now has limited options/could lose AP (or a whole turn)/ lead to surrender, etc. The example I have for this is on the outpost map I had the last enemy cornered on 2 sides as he hid behind a bush, and my 3 guys took turns shooting at him and placing him in overwatch. This dragged on for several turns until my 20% hit chance finally worked in my favor. In real time it would have looked like 3 guys firing at the same guy completely uninterrupted for more than a minute, if there was any morale system it would be likely that he would have surrendered.
